Red outline means that you CAN play it, but it's bad

Which is not what dodges are when KD

I think the way the game communicates disabled cards is with "no blue outline", as opposed to "a red outline", since the cards that you CAN play have a blue outline

Right, dodges are outright illegal to play while knocked down. And if you try to play one anyway, a red popup says "Can't open with a dodge while knocked down."
