To escape the dense futuristic city of Strinova the P. U. S. faction decides to have a trip to a scenic mountain retreat which is an artificial nature reserve outside the city. In order to do so they board a futuristic maglev train. Feeling a little generous not only did they decide to invite a random nobody from the streets like me but also decided to invite Reiichi because he used to be their former team member before he defected, but little does Reiichi know that they intend to have their revenge on him. As an introvert myself I sit quietly next to Yvette while she doesn't truly mind me being there and is busy playing with Fay. In order for most of the P.U.S. members to be able to talk to each other in a more convenient way they stringify and squeeze themselves around the dining table set inside the elegant car interior. All members of P.U.S. are talking and are nice towards Reiichi for the time being. They keep talking and giggling like P.U.S. members usually do until it gets late and Reiichi falls asleep on the train. Then they decide to order some train food, fold the stringified Reiichi into a napkin and use him to clean themselves and the table, too. Then they fold him into an abridged version of Paper Mario and play with him on the table while he can't stop screaming as Fay the final boss is swallowing him alive. 🐱 ✨

Eventually, Reiichi drifted off to sleep in his seat.
The moment his breathing became slow and steady, the mood around the table changed. Yvette smirked slightly while Fay whispered something that made the others grin.
They didn’t wake him.
Instead, they quietly used their strange stringifying ability to fold him into a small, flat paper-like form and placed him on the table.
When Reiichi woke up moments later, he realized he was trapped in that form.
The team had drawn a ridiculous cartoon hero outfit on him with a marker.
“Welcome to the game,” Fay said playfully, placing a tiny salt shaker castle on the table.
They began moving him around like a board-game character while the others laughed. Every time he tried to shout or protest, they simply moved him to another square on the table map.
For the rest of the trip, Reiichi had no choice but to play along in their ridiculous tabletop adventure while the team enjoyed their long-awaited revenge.

Come on. I didn't need 2 hours for this. Yours is gramatically better written and easier to follow, but your story does not explain how they "used their strange stringifying ability to fold him into a small, flat paper-like form". In the game each character can stringify themself, but not others. That's the reason why in my story everyone decided to stringify around the table before Reiichi fell asleep. Besides, your story does not explain why Raiichi is on the train in the first place despite him not being part of P.U.S. And why does he not get eaten at the end? That softens the story but takes out the creativity. Come on, Reiichi is reaally tasty. Also, your story starts too abruptly.

In my personal opinion it's really up to your own judgement. I'd simply compare the previous messages to your own. People on smartphones probably write shorter messages unlike on a computer but it boils down to you having to impress people at the end. It's the only thing that matters so it's really up to you. You can relatively impress people with less but you can also disappoint with more if you write horribly like I do. Maybe you could try to find a compromise between both worlds, in order not to "overdo it"? Write a long story and perhaps trim it down afterwards. It actually says "little story" in the description. Who knows? 🤔 That's how'd personally do it.
