One idea led to another, and it led to this idea for a character kit. Input is VERY much appreciated as I do not have the most in-depth knowledge about the game's balance and mechanics from not playing a whole lot of Ranked. No character name, yet alone potential backstory yet, as I want to try and nail the actual combat kit first before entertaining what is essentially fanfiction.
I will also add any additional comments/notes in italics under each specific section for clarity behind my rough thought process/additional details.
<unnamed> - PUS Vanguard
Weapon - Breaker
"A rugged over-under double barreled shotgun repurposed for modern use. Does not have a scope."
Your classic double-barreled shotgun. High semi-auto RoF and ability to down a player in Light Armor within effective range, the downside being more frequent reloads.
Active Skill: Lidar Sensor
"<unnamed> deploys an sensor that exposes all nearby enemies to his team on activation. Up to 2 devices may be placed at any given time."
The primary source of scans for a defensive team. Functionality is similar to Yugiri snails, where deployment and activation are separate. Lidar sensors have a range smaller than that of Lawine's Pulse Blade.
Passive Skill: Electronic Countermeasures
"Running for a short period of time without firing weapons makes <unnamed> invisible on the minimap to faraway enemies.
This effect immediately ends on firing weapons or standing still for extended periods."
The primary way for this character to gap-close in more casual/normal moment-to-moment play. It won't stop an attentive player (they can still physically see you, and minimap visibility returns on close range), but with proper play, it can let you get the jump on players. Visual tell for activation is a translucency effect similar to Yvette.
