One idea led to another, and it led to this idea for a character kit. Input is VERY much appreciated as I do not have the most in-depth knowledge about the game's balance and mechanics from not playing a whole lot of Ranked. No character name, yet alone potential backstory yet, as I want to try and nail the actual combat kit first before entertaining what is essentially fanfiction.
I will also add any additional comments/notes in italics under each specific section for clarity behind my rough thought process/additional details.

<unnamed> - PUS Vanguard

Weapon - Breaker
"A rugged over-under double barreled shotgun repurposed for modern use. Does not have a scope."
Your classic double-barreled shotgun. High semi-auto RoF and ability to down a player in Light Armor within effective range, the downside being more frequent reloads.

Active Skill: Lidar Sensor
"<unnamed> deploys an sensor that exposes all nearby enemies to his team on activation. Up to 2 devices may be placed at any given time."
The primary source of scans for a defensive team. Functionality is similar to Yugiri snails, where deployment and activation are separate. Lidar sensors have a range smaller than that of Lawine's Pulse Blade.

Passive Skill: Electronic Countermeasures
"Running for a short period of time without firing weapons makes <unnamed> invisible on the minimap to faraway enemies.
This effect immediately ends on firing weapons or standing still for extended periods."
The primary way for this character to gap-close in more casual/normal moment-to-moment play. It won't stop an attentive player (they can still physically see you, and minimap visibility returns on close range), but with proper play, it can let you get the jump on players. Visual tell for activation is a translucency effect similar to Yvette.

Ultimate Skill: Tactical Breach
"<unnamed> receives a large boost to movement speed and damage reduction for a short period of time, and continuously reveals any nearby enemies to the team."
Idea is to have an Ultimate meant for site retaking, functioning as essentially an aggressive scan and means for this character to bring the fight to attackers. Duration, as mentioned, is short (probably ~10 sec, half of a Bai Mo Ult), and the scan range is similar to Fuchsia.

Upgrades:
Core - Increase Bullets, Base Damage (Increase Bullets = more consistent DMG output, Base DMG = more damage, maybe enough to two-tap Heavy Armor?)
Critical Hit - Effective Range, Stringified Damage
Ammo - Reload Speed, Spread Control (doesn't make sense to give mag size to a double-barreled SG)
Functions - Sprint Speed, Base Handling

Electronic Countermeasures: Activation Time -0.25 sec
Lidar Sensor: Sensor: +15% Range, -20% Energy Consumption

Armor - Light Regen Armor, Heavy Armor
Survivability - Stringified Movement SPD, Stringified DMG Reduction

Awaken 1: Breaching Charge
"<unknown> gains temporary armor on activating an Lidar Sensor or using a throwable."
Requirements: 1 Blue, 1 Green
The temporary armor is probably ~20 Armor, similar to what Celestia gives herself. Using a Skill and throwable in quick succession will not cause the two to stack.

Awaken 2: Targeting Scrambler
"Enemies within 30m of an active Lidar Sensor are afflicted with increased weapon spread."
Requirements: 1 Blue, 2 Yellow, 1 Green
Meant for a more conservative playstyle playing close to the ECM devices. Increased spread effect is similar to Nobunaga.

Awaken 3: Command Burst
"Allies within 30m of an active Lidar Sensor gain slightly increased movement and reload speed."
Requirements: 3 Blue, 1 Yellow, 1 Green
Meant for more aggressive plays on the defense side. Bonuses are meant to be noticeable but temporary.

I get what youre trying to go for but i think this character is the furthest thing from a sentinel, probably support if anything? Or duelist if their role is to take flank/early fights.

Their ult is not good, because pushing in first effectively makes them the #1 target and their ult will be negated almost immediately. And if they're pushing in behind their team, they won't be scanning enough of the forefront to give any sort of advantage. This is assuming the range is like fuschia scan because any bigger and it might be op and any smaller and it might become completely useless. The speed boost is interesting but again, lends more to selfish use and a rebrand to the duelist role, over anything else.

I think the skill doesn't actually do anything at all, because 2 reasons:
A) if the active skill has a visual effect for its radius, the enemy already knows that it's going to be used by someone and someone is in its radius, giving away the element of surprise.
B) if it DOESNT have a visual effect, it has little to no counterplay, aside from single use equipment like smokes or windstorm nades which will be used anyways in terms of site exec.

Unless it comes with the yvette passive drawback of not being able to shoot or equip utility, at which point it becomes useless again.

I would like to see scans somewhere on this character because PUS needs scans, their options are galatea (too easy to dodge), fuschia (too selfish), and nobu (limited to defensive use mostly). They dont NEED scans but there is room for that niche given the entry is balanced

All good points. Gonna wait on others feedback (should anyone else be interested as well), but current gut instinct is to hard pivot that Active Skill to basically be a manually activated scan device (and thus basically turn them into a PUS Vanguard). Need to think of something to rework the Ult.

Im thinking the ult shouldn't decrease based on dmg taken and just be inherently short. Thatll require teamwork and still allow for its purpose as a scan, while not incentivizing baiting teammates either. And i do like the idea of the active skill being deployable scans, but it shouldn't be too much like lawines scans imo. But that's also your decision

Now i might have cooked something up last night that might be really good: what if the ult gave stealth to allies within a a radius of an instant burst, and gave maybe 5 seconds-ish of invisibility/stealth while still scanning for the same duration around the user? The team could reposition and take new angles for free, which isnt op because of the long TTK, and enemies can still hit if they tag someone invis. Stealth should be balanced by no util, skills or weapons equipped, like lawine and yvette
