Hello my name is KuroTakina, but you can call me Takina. I'm a sniper player that has played the CN server since April and have been consistently Superstring on the server (peak 180 rr) while playing also with the highest level of players. I also have previous semi-professional experience in Valorant which has helped me adapt quite fast to this game in terms of strategy while I have also reached the highest rank in the game as well. Usually I play the sniper as a pseudo recon/lurker/duelist but it can be very flexible depending on each game.
I can provide 1 on 1 coaching with VOD review and help with positioning, skill & utility usage and mainly improve at making decisions with the information you get in game as well as look to improve in general at understanding the game and its mechanics to build a good base gameplay to play consistently and improve on.

Can i have some tips on shooting stringified enemy close range then?
Since like watching your stream you could hit some heads to those papered enemies
Would it be better to stay still until the enemy comes to your crosshair, or maybe track the enemy, or something else entirely

When shooting stringified people usually depends on various factors
-Do they have paper speed upgrade? Do a click timing shot (Make it so that you can do it that they walk into your crosshair cause its a way harder target to hit)
-Are they doing something? (Reloading, changing weapons, looking at something/someone, sniper rechambering a bullet)[usually these kinds of actions make it so the hitbox of the paper head turns making it an easier shot, in this case you look to track the hear when you see something like this happening]
-If you dont have time to wait for the shot then look to flick to the head

In the case of people just straight up sidestepping while doing nothing (pure thin paper) would you still gamblr to target the head or maybe the arm for a greater hitbox, or just not shoot and find some1 else entirely

If on 1v1 the most consistent is to go for bodyshot, full charge if possible and then finish with secondary

What role are we talking about?
If we're talking about snipers I would say to stick with your team as much as possible since that will give you the most possibility of getting the most amount of shots with the least amount of effort, what I mean by this is that you would usually "support" your team by shooting at people that your team is fighting and are not conciously hiding from you, but also make sure to prioritize to live before fighting if someone is in your face and you already took a shot and if your team is alive.

Its not baiting your team if you go with them to play off of each other, since paper lets you stay alive for quite some time there are sometimes that your team will be surviving while you get to shoot or you will be the one surviving while your team shoots since they will focus someone always

Mainly with Yvette and mao you want to play around your utility, with Yvette playing around your ice is REALLY important since it increases your dmg output quite a lot and with mao usually you want to put your turres where you think it would be annoying to shoot them and play off of them (On right hand peeks preferably)

If you are not being pushed immediately with that utility then utilize your 3rd person camera to get info as well as look at map if possible to know where people are and based on that you will know how to path as well who to help

@minor rapids Hi takina. I'm having trouble with hitting shots and positioning (positioning on certain maps). I was wondering if you had any advice on practicing and improving aim and positioning (on sniper ofc).

My aim isn't terrible but whenever i q into a lobby in proton or higher, my aim just stops working and its not uncommon for me to not get a hit, headshot or bodyshot until the 4th or 5th round.

and as a sniper main as well, I feel like I'm not contributing to the game apart from using q to scout or heal. tldr: I feel very useless

In terms of practicing aim, all I could say is that what Ive used are aim trainers and the games training range to get used to shooting paper.
Mainly what I like to use are pasu scenarios in kovaaks as well as smoothing scenarios to help me in my movement reading as well as my tracking ability.

In terms of positioning maybe what is happening is that maybe you are showing yourself a lot, so that makes it easier for the enemy team to avoid you as well as to make it harder for you to get kills/shots since people are actively trying to not die to you, thats why you see a lot of high elo sniper players play behind cover using 3rd person camera to get info without showing themselves and when they get a free shot thats when they peek and shoot.
And there are also very common sniper spots where people expect you to be so thats maybe why its also hard to get a shot.

Mainly on kokona I run ADS speed -> Charge speed -> Stringify dmg -> mag capacity

I run heavy shields if I see enemy kanami that mainly bodyshots, if only hs then light, and I always go for 1-2 awakening
Also quick note regarding rechambering, I have been trying it out lately but only against teams that full rush and you dont get that lot of opportunity to full charge

Heya Takina, I played a few matches against you the other day, and one thing I noticed in particular was that you remained very effective in Spacelab A long in spite of being heavily pressured by an enemy sniper.

I think as a sniper main, my kokona is pretty weak (I like hyper-aggressive swings on Kanami a lot). And one thing I struggle with heavily, is getting shots in as Kokona when heavily pressured. It's a lot more bearable when the enemy doesn't have a Kanami, but when they do I'm absolutely useless. So, Spacelab A long is absolute hell for me.

So I wanted to ask if you had any specific playstyle tips for that spot specifically or more general tips on how to deal with heavy pressure and little space to shoot as Kokona?

Hmmm in regards of kokona, its a little bit different playstyle than kanami since you are holding sites, so when you are really pressured you need to know when and how to peek if there are 1 or more marksmen.
So what I mean by this is: Slice the pie (I dont know if you've ever heard of this term, I got it from Valorant)

What this is is basically making sure that when peeking you are peeking in "steps" meaning that you're not completely going out of the angle to shoot since you will ALWAYS be peeking in 1st person ADS you want to make sure to be able to take quick peeks without giving the other marksmen a chance to punish you for it and if needed you need to give up the space and while retreating you can also take shots while going back into another cover in site.

One more thing that might help you is getting used to fighting people close range as sniper since when you face good players what they will mainly do is get close to you so that the shots that you have to take are way harder and more "uncomfortable"

In terms of crosshair mainly when Im pre aiming I usually pre aim for head level and if I know they are players that jump I pre aim for jump head level and correct if needed aside from that I don't really pre aim without info since I use the camera a lot to see around without minding the crosshair that much.

With my eyes I mainly focus on watching the target and watching its movement to be able to aim correctly thats how Ive gotten the most success for myself, while there are people the same as me to watching the target instead of crosshair works there are some people that can do the opposite, try out both and see what works for you

Okay here are my problems that I am aware of:

1. My positions (Defender problem)- Especially as defender scenarios where after I prepare my traps, I feel anxious on where should I go after preparing my traps from Michelle, Yugiri, Nobunaga, or Even Leona, because my teammates know exactly what they are doing while I panic when I am trying to find a position. What I do on my own is to predict the enemy’s next site to plant, I usually predict them easy however my positioning sucks.

2. Entries (Attacker problem)- I am aware that I am bad at entering sites and as a duelist I need to enter but everytime I play attacker I struggle with entering bomb sites because I know that I will get killed immediately if I get careless but in my case I get killed either way even though I play carefully. What I do is after the bomb has been planted I usually just defend the bomb as much as I can for the attacker side to win.

3. General problem- Probably my decision making as a whole such as: Reviving teammates, defusing bombs, Proper way to Lurk and flank.

It usually depends on range
What I do with lawine gun when I play her I usually go like this:
Really close -> hipfire
Mid range -> shoulder fire
Long range -> ADS

But most often than not a lot of players use shoulder fire since is a little bit more lenient in terms of aiming

The thing with lawine is that her gun relies on you hitting headshots to reliably kill people at a decent speed, you can get away with killing people with body shots but it still can take a while to do so and also you need to hit most of the shots if not all.

For recoil practice I would recommend you to go to training and practice the pattern on a wall until you get to a point where you are happy with it and then use the bots to track while controlling the recoil.
^ This could be a good starting point for you to get used to the recoil and to track people while controlling the recoil
