Kanami is one of the most fun characters to play. Sniping in this game is really satisfying, and when used correctly can win games. Make sure to aim her scan ability (Q) up high so that it can have as much room to scan the terrain as possible while also being difficult to shoot/find! Her ult is good for initiating fights and team play, but could make your shots harder to hit so be cautios when using it and choose carefully where to place it so it has the most impact. Lastly her passive allows her to more easily check tight corners due to it being a tiny aoe scan for herself and allies. You can use this ability to more easily line up your shots before doing a quick jump peak to win a duel.

Does her ult stop defense from defusing bomb?
I feel like her ult seems very underwhelming since you can just run away from the hologram
im not sure if it pulls you but if it does a teamate can stand in the way and push you so you keep defusing
It definitely pulls you if you aren't fighting it, but I'm wondering if it has any actual use
I would assume it's most effective as post-plant util but idk
I also don't have Kanami so I can't test anything
Her note ability also does not look useful on any map that isn't port euler

Does Kanami's note work through smokes?

this agent is so punishing to use if u suck playing her.
it basically make the game 4vs5 all the time
whilst other agent little bit forgiving because most of them are riflers but when u suck at sniping u just lose, and hope ur team carry u
Kanami needs some good coordination with her teams as she can't stand her ground like Lawine and you need a lot of trigger discipline to master her
She can find hidden enemies with a charged shot with the right awaknings
And use her Ult preferably when pushing into the site (like the bomb placement location)or after the plant just when the defenders are trying to push
Get good using the Athena, even a sniper that can't hit their sniper shots can still have good value enough if they can hit their Athena headshots. That way you aren't useless
I would recommend using note to watch your flanks behind your team. It makes a lot of flankers second guess themselves and sometimes makes them back off completely once they know they aren't being sneaky anymore

Tbh, it is better on site. It doesn't last too too long to be a worthwhile ability for flank.

I'm curious what secondary util people like bringing on Kanami
I think the most common combo I've seen is Frag + Healing
Frag to confirm downs behind cover and Healing to recover from a sniper fight
I used to bring a frag but now I bring a windstorm to interrupt bomb diffusal

I usually bring interceptor and frag/smoke
Interceptors are really important even on attack side
It seems like to me that people just don't abuse their util as much as they should
Frag nade can be used to get people out of a corner or finish them off
Smokes can be used to block the enemy sniper vision or to protect your teammates
Since Kanami has a passive and active scan, smokes are especially effective with her when used right

Snipers need to learn to move
A lot
Unless you have really good aim, you don't stand a chance at close quarters, so you should always reposition yourself to a more advantageous position
And even if you have really good aim, it's really hard
As for sniper duels
Your movement impacts the outcome of the duel just as much as your aim
While dueling against another sniper, you're not only trying to kill them, but also trying to avoid getting killed
So, jump peek
Quick peek
Maybe even just glide to the other side of your cover so the enemy sniper can lose a shot trying to hit you, giving and opening for you to shoot them
And abuse your skills
Kokona and Kanami have easy to use yet high value skills
Kanami's Q scans everything (yes, including summons!) in a 35m radius (as of current s2 patch)
And with awakening 2 or 3 it does an additional debuff to your enemies or buff to your allies
Kokona's Q heals the HP of everyone in a 15m radius of the person the drone is attached to
That's a pretty big radius
iirc it's as big as an Kanami ult
If you have awakening 2, it also heals the armor of everyone
