So what did i think about this EWC:

  • I'm totally surprised and disappointed that there was no major announcements(beta, date or ...)
  • It wasn't very interesting to watch since it's just a team rolling another team. It's not thrilling to see matches between pro players and streamers that are used to play with 200ping. Same for watching players that have been playing the game for a year bully players that barely tried the game
  • The game has a lot of potential for esports and i would love to watch more in the future.
  • Casters dont understand the game
  • Observers dont understand the game either so sadly we're missing a lot of the exciting stuff

My thoughts on the tournament:
I was really excited about the Strinova E-sports World Cup and think the idea of the tournament had a lot of potential. It was a great opportunity to showcase Strinova as a competitive e-sport which I feel like it has a lot of potential as an e-sport. However, I felt the execution of the event fell short. While the players were undoubtedly skilled and put on a great show, #weloveyousupershuai!!! , the event was severely limited by the quality of the production team. The casters, in particular, struggled to convey the excitement and intricacies of the matches. To be completely honest the casters kinda ruined the event in my opinion. Great players are only one part of what makes e-sports great; engaging and knowledgeable casters, good observers, and other behind-the-scenes people are equally important in making the games easy to understand and enjoyable for the audience. Additionally, the observers need to be more adept at capturing the crucial moments and strategies as they unfold. There are replays for when this can't be done because something unexpected happens but I think better observers are vital for viewers to fully appreciate the depth and excitement of the game. For future tournaments, I hope the organizers focus more on improving the quality of the casting and production. With better support from the production team, Strinova has the potential to shine as a staple in the competitive e-sports scene for sure. This event was also limited by how few teams there were, and realistically there was no way anyone but MMR could win because of the difference in time played, it couldn't really be avoided because strinova is such a new game but in the future I think there should be more teams as well.

I tried my best to keep the audience engaged by casting it myself in VC but there are moments when the camera misses the moments.

Like the focus isn't on the right player all the time, the casters really emphasize on "strategy" as if this game or this team have anything to offer.

The production is top tier though and it was fun to see other teams play against each other but is a bit disappointing to find ads between transitions. Honestly the ads aren't even the problem, its just that it hasn't been localized so no one understands what the Ad is saying or has on screen.

I think the biggest problem is just the spectating. The spectator switches to the person just as the fight ends and that doesn't really show much and despite the coloring, it gets confusing which team they're spectating because they keep switching it around.

The analysts should've really tried to break down the game and highlight moments they found were exciting rather than throw numbers at the screen without reasoning.

Overall, cool event would love to see more in the future

I was very excited to see the game shown in EWC, also jinxed for some moment whereas the game still exclusive to CN but it open a global scale tournament.

The match isn't that thrilling, like experience diff. But I think its common because of many factor and I understand it. Still, its entertaining at least for me.

Hope there will be more competitive event like EWC in future, especially this server tournament event 🐧

I don't usually watch competitive events, mostly because I was never interested in competitive games. But, when I found a competitive game that was actualy fun, I was excited to watch other people play the game at EWC.

I wasn't expecting a full-on sweep.

It's really dissapointing, since the matches felt less like actual matches and more as a showcase to how terrifying CN players actually are. But, there is potential. I could see Strinova getting an actual competitive event in the future when the game releases globally and more people are introduced to it.

Hopefully, when that day comes, I can finally watch players who are 100x better than me at this game actually fight instead of slaughter each other :p

im a bit late to this but as one of the people who was reached out to cast this event(along with Kierce) about a month before it was scheduled for then getting cut 3 days before with little to no warning, its hard to get behind this tournament for me personally.

I understand that it was most likely a logistical issue that led to the situation that we ended up with, but it doesn't feel right that literal developers reached out to us with an incredibly cool opportunity that was PAID (more than id make working 10hrs of my normal day job), only to go radio silent on us for weeks on end despite being asked for updates multiple times through our only method of contact, then at the last possible second cancel us. I find it incredibly hard to believe that this was not known until we were informed 3 days before the event. A little more transparency would've gone a long way with something that may have been the coolest thing I would've ever done, maybe the coolest thing I would ever do. (not to mention i set 2 days of my personal time aside and told my family I couldn't make a gathering because I prioritized this event over anything else).

Putting everything personal aside, the match quality was very low. I understand this tournament was not meant to be competitive and was meant to bring attention to the game, which is fine, but why then invite a superteam that won a play-in tournament to fight a bunch of people that are new or playing for content?

The casting quality was also not great. I found myself unexcited and uninterested by the cast at all points in any given match. I am a huge fan of many members of Super Shuai but I did not make an effort to watch day 2 live because the thought of watching live did not excite me (due to public perception day 1 and my personal opinion).

THAT ALL BEING SAID i gotta throw something positive in here. I heard the CN broadcast was very solid with good casting, so props there. The observing is a mixed bag but honestly I'm unable to knock it at all because I feel the observing is ruined by the casting, so not bad at all there either. The production was decent enough to the point where you could believe this was an official event, and besides the strange transitions the broadcast got passing marks in terms of flowing well and not having much dead air. In terms of the esport side of things and the game being competitive, its got potential for sure. MMR showed us a side of the game that is rarely seen, even at the top levels of ranked (in terms of organized play), and people looking to get better can look at them as a sort of idol or thing they aspire to be. All in all, I hope the devs learn from the mistakes here and keep things realistic for the next official event so people aren't disappointed with the result again.

Now i unfortunately barely have time to watch the entire thing but watched some clips and unfortunately I'm slightly disappointed. I mean it feels more like a one-sided match due to strinova currently being cn exclusive (except for global tests) and allowing cn players to have the upper hand in terms of skills. Not to mention the casters and audience seem to not know much about the game and it feels stale. If we gave the casters to bigger fans of strinova and subsequently explain the skills and tactics used by players, the audience can understand what's going on and we all might have a better time.

All in all, although this execution was off, the potential for this game being an e-sports definitely exists. Hoping to see the game release on global soon along with mobile! Also hope to see a better tournament setting when the game gets more fame!
All the best to the future of strinova and the team

# jolly dirge My thoughts on the tournament: I was really excited about the Strinova E-sports ...

I feel like my previous message was heavily critical, but that's only because I want these tournaments to be the best they can be. I genuinely believe Strinova has so much potential as an esport, and I want to see it thrive. That being said, I feel like I should mention what the event did well. It definitely showcased just how high the skill ceiling is for this game, especially with MMR's performance. Even though they won so one-sidedly, it really highlighted how good players can get, which I think is a huge positive from the event and may inspire some players to want to reach that level of coordinated play. The event also did have some really nice graphics and feel very professional and well planned. I thought the side by side player stats "head2head" i think it was called was very cool. The pictures for every player was also very cool. I think the only real issues with the event will be solve themselves as time goes on, because there will be better teams/competition for closer more interesting matches, and there are already great people who are willing to help the tournament/ esports events be the best they can be. I’ve seen some harsh comments about how the event was awful or bad for the games image and stuff but honestly, considering everything, I think it was pretty good for what it was. There's always room for improvement and I hope the people working on these events can learn from this ones mistakes, but I’m still excited about what Strinova can become in the esports scene.

spad was being all positive at the end of his message so I felt like i had to mention all the positive things as well😀

China destroys Japan, US destroys Saudi Arabia, then China destroys the US. Every match was completely one sided. I feel the Chinese had more time to practice. You can see that Kariyu was strongest on US team because he had been practicing on the Chinese servers.
