Since the latest update... I've been lagging 😭 this has never happened to me before.

I am new to the game, I notice lately solo game play everything renders in slowly. The main city forgive me to new to remember names takes a long time to load in. Multiplayer I dont do much as other users avatars don't load in or they load in slowly.

Taking a photo now takes a lot longer? I know it's a small issue but didn't have this problem before the recent (big) update. Now it will take about 6-8 seconds after 'snapping' the photo for it to appear on your screen

I really enjoy this game a lot BUT, idk what happened but now all of a sudden the past 3 days I crashed completely out of the game at random points. I never did this before, at first I thought it was Steam so I got the official launcher and linked my account and it still does it. Sometimes I can go an hour before a crash and sometimes its literally every 20 minutes. I did notice the launcher said something about a DirectX 12 problem occured the last time and wanted me to swap to 11. I did that and it still does it. I feel like its just a me problem cause my friend I play with has ZERO problems but I do 🙁

When going into online mode, especially if there are a lot of users nearby, my game starts lagging and my game crashes often. My game works perfectly fine in solo mode near npcs and in boss battles, it's just in multiplayer that this happens. It also happened the other day when I was in a sword trial with a friend when the rest of the team was AI. Please help.

The game has been lagging/high ping a lot more since the updates (mobile user). an example when I would fight against the test dummy I would swing with the twinblades 96 swings in 30 seconds, since the recent update I'm now at 82 swings in 30 seconds that is a big drop, but this is my experience not sure if others are experiencing the same.

Hello i'm a mobile player My problem is that when I use my wind sense, this bug appears.

And also, there's a serious connection problem when someone joins co-op mode or when I have to do a raid; even if I have a good connection, it drops when I join. And only sometimes does it let me play

Please update the Netcode for this game to allow for at least 60ms Ping before seeing noticeable delays, like most other online games.

Currently in Where Winds Meet you need 10ms or lower ping to play with comfort. Works great for CN I guess but terrible for Global. Entire parts of the planet simply can't compete, ever, in PvP or PvE simply because they have 80-100ms ping which causes a massive delay in whatever they try to do. After the latest patch the input delay on Sword Trial and Hero Realm is very noticeable. We need a fix for it.

I live near Portland OR, on the West Coast, USA, on gigabit fiber, with a hardline to my PC. Usually in solo mode the game works fine for me. Co-op boss fights are sometimes unplayable, if I'm not overgeared vs the boss. If I actually have to parry the boss (players frequently ask for help vs Tian Ying), it's nigh impossible. The input delay in co-op varies between .5 seconds and 2 seconds. Sometimes the game will actually show the loading screen before it even shows the combo that killed me, because the server lag is so bad.

I don't know if this is the result of too few servers, and matching with players on the other side of the globe, or the net code, or too small of server custers. What I do know, is that it's not fun at all to help someone when your only chance of winning depends on a massive string of luck, because the boss will have hit you before it's possible to see their queue's/tells.

Day 5 billion and one of lag and high ram usage. Changing directx settings and clearing shader cache helps very temporarily, but the first half hour of being in the game is like moving through cold syrup. Barely do anything when I log lately in cause its insufferable.

I primarily play on Steam Deck (which I know is not currently optimized, but I haven't had many issues up to this point), but I'm experiencing the same issues only slightly less strongly on a Razer Blade 15 laptop. Starting this past weekend, my latency has been terrible even though I have stable internet and I'm experiencing frame drops and rubberbanding in online mode. I have my graphics turned down as far as they can go, but the issues worsen in more graphically intensive gameplay like Twin Lions, Mirage Boat, GVG and when a skill with flashy effects is used in Perception Forest. Extermination screens won't load properly and MVP animations sometimes crash my game on Deck. It takes 1-2 seconds for skill use to actually register and I'm sometimes getting 4-5 FPS for extended periods. Again, this has never been this much of a problem before, even when playing cross-region with friends.

Performance issues is ridiculously worse than before lately. At least let us know why the constant rubber banding and latency. Can we also get a solution as to why cross-server matchmaking occurs when I don't have it checked off. This just seems to make the latency issue even worse and increases the desync.

Detailed Description:
since the new 1.3 update - (DX12) the game would start to drop frames significantly in Kaifeng, freezing sometimes, GPU usage drops to 50% (from 90~100% normally). I was in the Fanlou cutscene, and the scene was playing in like 5 fps and freezing here and there.
I changed to DX11 in hopes of fixing this issue, so the frame drop is not really happening anymore but I would completely freeze in multiplayer world sometimes if there is a lot of characters - i am talking about whole pc freeze, nothing works, you can only move your mouse, but pc registers no clicks. This can only be fixed by hard reboot or waiting for significant amount of time - I am talking about 5~10 minutes just letting it be. Eventually the game unfreezes and pc also recovers, but if you try to move a few steps (i think more game asset is getting loaded) the pc might freeze again.

I've played on Steam Deck since launch with only minor issues (online mode in Kaifeng, lag when there are lots of effects) but in the last couple of weeks it's gone from perfectly fine to completely unplayable. With graphics settings as low as they can possibly go, I can't even collect Vicious Flowers in solo mode without lagging.

Detailed Description: When UI is visible, I can be in Keifeng and chatting, and my PC will freeze, requiring me to reboot it. When I have been in the UI to build, it also freezes, as well as when I am looking at the shop/ or any of the parts to change my appearance. It has also happened when I hit the ESC to bring up the UI to go to look at quests.
Restarting my PC does not fix it, as it will keep freezing the PC up.
If I hide the UI, and dont go into anything for more than a second, it will not freeze, but then I cannot see my map, and see where anything is, which makes doing some things more difficult.

On PS5 here, in the new area I have literally no lighting. All I can see are NPC names and signposts. Changed time of day, logged in/out. Lighting is fine in other maps but pitch black here.

+1 to the lighting issues in the new region on PS5. Tried both with and without HDR, same issue: when I teleport to a boundary stone, the scene is sometimes restored to normal lighting, only to go back to pitch dark seconds later.

I just want to point out that it’s essentially UNPLAYABLE on PS5. Hope the devs are aware and working on fixing this.

Fwiw it seems new accounts (not characters) in west coast get a 50 UID assigned to them - which is new

So for the cases of people with 10 UID connecting to NAE... Well other cases such as people moving (eg Asia -> US) show that it's normal

Matchmaking shouldn't put you in NAE, but I guess they messed something up in the backend with how they determine a server before matchmaking

Detailed Description: Just did Hero Realm and Tian Ying is very laggy. Constant framedrops and it's very easy to end up getting hit by attacks when you can't even move for 3 seconds.

The other boss is completely fine (the new general in Hexi), although it takes forever and I nearly fell asleep fighting him.

I haven't had any issue in any Sword Trials either. I also did Arena and Guild Showdown, as well as Guild War and nothing frame dropped as hard as Tian Ying in Hero Realm.

Just wanted to let the dev knows that ever since I moved over to NA West, my ping got worst and I lag like crazy and skills are also buggy. Gvg, sword trial, anything online or co-op got worst for me too, my screen just freezes and I teleport everywhere. I did the TB test , I am doing 77 hits. I used to do 84-88 hit depends on the ping spike. It's stable but I am doing 77 hits on my ps5 now. I tested on mobile, I used to do 94 hits but now I am doing 91 hits, why are mobile better optimize than console? But in mobile it's also laggy too. It's just disappointment after disappointment.

West coast server made it worse for PC. I'm in Vancouver, Canada and this game now spikes to 500ms with 150ms at base. It was never this high before

It doesn't just affect multiplayer. Solo is also negatively impacted since skill cooldown, attack speed, hit register, movement fluidity is tied to ping. I'm rubber banding every few minutes now. My skill cooldown either does not trigger or refuses to activate

The PC network performance has gone from some of the ABOSULTE. WORST. THAT. I. HAVE. EVER. SEEN in nearly FORTY YEARS of gaming to being completely unplayable and prompting me to decide if I even want to continue playing as a west coast player since this latest update. Nonstop rubber-banding, complete failure of animations to play often resulting in a screen full of t-posing or completely disappearing character models, and minutes-long bouts of up to 3 seconds of input delay, if my inputs are even registered at all... and this is in ANY game mode where other players are even just hanging around, including co-op and Breaking Army. Why is this game installing almost 200 gigs of data to my drive and taking almost 6 hours to apply a couple gigabyte patch when it streams almost all of the game data, anyway, nonstop? My monthly bandwidth usage more than doubled playing this game alone, going from 1.2-1.5tb with two streaming services running in the house almost nonstop to 3.2tb last month.

PLEASE fix the servers!!! Vancouver, Canada, and all pvp except forest is absolute suffering. pvp is the one reason I liked this game most and it's been WEEKS now that it's been a horrible time with promised fixes only to see things get worse as time passes. Above all else can you please ACKNOWLEDGE the situation? Days since the update, the constant reporting of issues, and at no point has there been ANY communication to show us that you know and are working on a fix. Just say something. The player base would be much more forgiving if they felt heard and knew something is going to happen or in the works. The silence only makes things worse on top of everything else that's already bad...

I ended up logging into a new character and it reset back to the west server… something is wrong with the server logic

I can consistently get west, the issue is when it comes to Arena, when 2 players of differing servers are matched with each other it's 50/50 to who gets their server.

This leads to allot of east vs west to literally be RNG. It's why I'm so high in 1v1s right now, because I'm a really good player that can't really lose on west, and the players that are much better than me on east have a 50/50 chance to just automatically lose because they get hit with 100 ping that west gives them.

This really isn't a fun experience, because even me who's benefiting from this still has to deal with random games being unwinnable because of me losing the server raffle and the ping discrepancy.

We have guild members from both the East and West Coasts who have been playing together since the beginning. With the current setup, they now have to choose between East time (8:30) and West time (5:30), or West time (8:30), which makes it 11:30 for East Coast players. These times are either too early or too late for many players who have been participating in GvG from the start, and now they’re being forced to drop out. Getting massive lag from multiplayer modes (including hero realm, sword trial, and liesure activities). Solo is okay, but as soon as someone even joins co-op it gets bad. Participated in GVG today and my game crashed more times than I can count. I even switched to mobile (since it has a toggle to limit the amout of players on screen - which reduces the lag), but it was still super laggy. I could barely play - I was running into walls and fighting the air... PLEASE FIX THE LAG.

No clue what they did but as of yesterday west coast just doesn't connect to the right server for anything online. For whatever reason I can't even do path trials either without insane lag and delay (that's not online so I don't understand that part). I swear everything was working more than fine just 2 days ago.
Can whatever was done be undone?
Second question, could we just get a manual selector in settings allowing us to lock in exactly what server we want to connect to? At least it would remove the game getting it wrong from time to time like what seems to be the case currently

Am I the only one this is happening to? for 5 days straight now, the game will only connect to east coast for online game modes (with the exception of the occasional tokyo connection which is worse). I'm west coast in Vancouver, Canada, and the game has been unplayable.
To add insult to injury, I also use GeforceNow for PVP, half the time, so I did a test, why not route my gfn to virginia so I can have the best east coast ping (since it won't let me be connected to west coast). Tell me why the ping issue was WORSE? It's as if the game was forcing me to be connected to east coast, BUT was first routed to west coast server THEN connected to east coast. That routing theory would justify why my ping to east coast is now 100+ when it used to be 60-70 before all the server changes. If the game is somehow forcing the routing to go through west coast first but then for some odd reason still choosing to connect to east coast only.
Just last week, you had FIXED the server split issues and online was actually fun again. Then less than a week later, suddenly all your fixes were gone and everything is worse than before.
Do we have an ETA on a fix? GVG is coming up and I can't imagine joining that with the way the game is unplayable.
The lack of others echoing the issue has me worried that it's a me problem, but then I test using both my own computer and GeforceNow (even routed to optimal west coast location) which is a totally different machine, and the results are the same no matter what.............

This is real. I switch between east to play with friends, and west to play native. I will have to close and reconnect my game to to get to east multiple times, otherwise it will try to route me to west first then east.

Since the late April 2026 update, CPU will be overheated (staying 95~100C)after running the game for over 30 mins.
As well as the CPU will be overheated 3 mins after getting into a 5-man or 10-man run.
However the overheat won't happen during the run where 5-man party cleaning the nodes.
But then it happened today 5 mins after the node run.
And I have tested both launch options (native and DirectX12) in Steam, same result.

Pretty much, when the PvP is no good and many have/want to resort to a certain build people get tired of it and quit. Despite what these devs post, I'd say they truly don't give a s***, they are just kicking the can down the road. PvP will never be fixed, many PvP players will leave, all they will have is the Semi Active PvE. But I think thats what they want. But hopefully I'm proven wrong we will see what the future holds, putting this game "away" for awhile now till true improvements (if ever) arrive.

Haven't seen any update about this at all, and nothing from today's AMA either, but I am still stuck connecting only to either east coast or japan when I join any arena mode instead of the west coast server I am meant to connect to. The cross-server toggle that was mentioned in the AMA seems to only be available for hero realm and sword trials and is nowhere to be seen on any of the arena modes...

my theory is that it might be linked to them adding the cross-server toggle for arena modes as of yesterday. having it toggled off might actually split east and west servers (which that part is something I want), and then it would come down to 2 things; either there aren't enough people queueing on west coast (assuming you are NAW too) or the other option could be that the game doesn't really know what to do with queues for NAW players. Got this theory because as PF queue was dead yesterday, a bunch of people in my guild tried to queue up at the same time, so we'd get our own lobby, but then all the players on NAE actually got in and none of the NAW did.

The moment you select cross server matchmaking, you are locked in whatever server the game decides to route you to, even when you go back to solo

Ping is mostly irrelevant because you are playing solo mode mostly on your client side, with data actually just being sent online instead of a constant stream of data. It's more like your instance is constantly being synced, then when you go online you join a server shard, or a server host depending. When you invite friends to your world, the netcode frequently switches to a listen server format where your machine acts as the host, and your friends act as clients. So while you can and will get disconnected if your game isn't syncing properly with the server, the solo mode netcode is almost 100% client sided.

Which means if you are having what looks like ping spikes, its either some weird thing with your own internet thats somehow making your game lag out, which honestly doesn't even really make allot of sense either. Or it's most likely fps drops.

WWM Netcode is actually pretty intuitive for what it does, people do not give them enough credit.
