Love the idea. Had me wondering, since church buildings can strongly vary in shape based on region and period they were built in, what would one in a tang or song setting look like?
Tang or Song usually go like pagoda, which will have the same resemblance with the martial temple
For catholic church in Asia, I don't see much difference from Western, maybe less details.
I know about the pagodas problem is that these developed in the context of worship/prayer by walking in circles. Granted these walkways exist in churches too. I guess probably that it would've resembled the set-up of Buddhist monasteries if it caught on in the early century.
That would mean you might have a structure fulfilling the function of a pagoda, a congregational hall and a separate prayer hall, with the pagoda as an option.
All of that probably surrounded by a rectangular wall/building arrangement.
Most of these might just be to young for great cultural distinctions. Think old Coptic Vs latin
Dang, that's looking good, great location
This is just amazing
