How to make custom roof?

trying to make a house, has a walkway that i want to put a roof over, but i dont get allat beam, bracket, corner bracket, partition, column, and the countless rooftop variations.

anyone can be so kind as to share a guide i can follow or maybe just kinda spill what steps u usually do to make a column finally fall in love with the roof? bc i cant make that roof thing work at all 😭
