You literally created something that my friend wanted, similar idea, but different takes on it, and to be honest I really like your one, maybe it's because the facial hair didn't suit his that much. Again it is obviously in the more refined catagory, so if it was in a category preset thing it probably wouldn't be in the realistic one, but im sure as hell it would have someone who likes the more refined faces, which this would be one of them : )

I say that because I liked more realistic looking characters, with slight tinge perhaps of some refinement but not alot, so mostly realistic

Ok never mind THIS one, actually looks really good! I like the slight dark gritty side to the face, something I'd see in gothic writing. I think it's because my friends face is over populated with blood and scars and yours has barely any but has nice touches and doesn't over do it. It has a design in mind

I had some pretty good references in my head, and a story already planned for him so it kind of helped

Gothic writing was definitely in my head when I designed him, along with thinking of vampiric characters like Alucard from Castlevania

It mostly depends on how you shape the actual face itself. For example, the beard on this character (I took it off) didn’t make him look older but it did achieve that masculine look I think you’re talking about

One of my friends recommended once to make the face itself look young then add a beard and tweak the features, I still don’t know what she meant- but yeah 😭

Well ye that's kinda the thing. For example my face I'd say if I had a beard I would definitely look more masculine but to be honest... I don't like beards so say what you will, and it wouldn't fit me because my face likes that shave cleaven look but clearly having the facial hair there just thin because it's growing.

Regardless did you notice in the picture that above my character's right eyebrow you can see almost a resemblance of a stiched up scar that looks like a soundwave of the southern lights, or the very clear sky with the galaxy cut that you can see usually in real life which I don't know how to explain?
