(Inspired by the concept of Japanese ronin. I was going to call the title ronin but it didn't make sense to me as we are in China so I decided instead to pick something else. He is also a gothic character)

Name: Misha (Mî shā) xue (xuě)

Hair Colour: Dark brown

Age: 18 to 20

Backstory: growing up he had wealth, perhaps not nobility wealth, but definitely better off than most children and families. he could get whatever he wanted, but not a normal family. Unfortunately he was never supposed to be born, or more something he says to himself as he found out around at 16 to 17 that his family dysfunctional, and in his opinion were never fit to have children. He was even glad that he never had a sibling because of this. During his childhood he always play by himself, sometimes with other children but mostly himself, his mum neglecting him most of the time, always working, only interacting with him in small moments and only a quarter of the time. He never minded this of course but he feared upsetting or angering his mum, because when she would try to teach him something and he fails to learn multiple times, or just not doing things correctly he would be shouted at by his mother, her voice raising with each mistake, and her anxiety and stress increasing.
His dad was somewhat normal but he came from an abusive past and would drink quite a bit, which increased the chances of fights getting caused, though even without that the chances were high.
The only normal things he had in life was his grandmother and his dog, unfortunately at age 15 his grandmother would die from an illness when she could of been saved if the doctor she was going to wasn't so incompetent in his eyes, and his dog dying at age 17.

These of course were not all the tragedies he experienced in life, as he lost his friends at age 15, his grandmother dying 2 days after that event. Bullying, backstabbing, both his parents dying one by one, many tragedies. As result the vengeance and hatred he already felt from his doctor failing to spot what was wrong, would get worse with the combination of many other things would make him spiral from a kind, calm, empathetic, and understanding young man, into a grief lost, sorrowful, mourning individual. And this spiralling change started early as at age 15, changing into this state quicker than people would expect.
Because of this he would later study more martial arts and lore at 17. Of course when he was doing this as a kid he was simply doing it out of knowledge and protection but now... now it was for a way different reason.
One night he would sneak into the house of the doctor that was incompetent to help his grandmother and would think of killing him. But as he was about to, his mind would change as this wasn't him, this isn't how he usually acted, he was still the same but blinded by grief. So instead he would beat the man almost to death. It was something he would never do, but he was too tired to care. He just snapped.

Realising what he did he would feel great guilt within himself after he left, as he would realise how undeserved that was... but he was incompetent afterall, wasn't he?

At age 18-20 he now wields duel blades that he stole from someone, as he walks alone, sometimes can be seen on a obsidian horse, sometimes not, and sometimes... if you are unlucky, you are his target, to take out someone of undeserving to stay in this mortal realm.

Extra details: there is a scar that resembles a sound wave/the southern lights that is above his right eye brow. This scar developed due to his skull getting cracked in the past at the age of 5.

Update:

Current sect: Silver needle. he is merely there to gain more knowledge on medicine and get better at being a medic, but also because he believes he can help the people that really need it, at a price of course because that is the philosophy of the silver needle, but he will always take what he believes would be less valuable towards the person, as he isn't a cruel silver needle.

he will only take things that have no meaning to you, not helping you in any way, or is just not very valuable but valuable enough, as again he doesn't want to take possessions that could important to you, especially if they are related to grief of someone. Besides, What reason would he have to leave a sect that is around helping others?

Current rank (Before, he was just a physician, and quickly after that, a chief physician): he is a Medical scholar, and not only one of the best (or at least few of the best medical scholars,) he has been told by few devine healers that he was comparable to a divine healer almost, especially because he had certain skills and ways of doing things that didn't just come from hardwork, no... it came from something deep within him that no one else had, a certain empathetic trait that was combined with something more patient, gentle, careful, understanding, and precise. He would modestly thank the divine healers who would you say that, but would always humble himself, brushing off the praise, or anything similar to it, always believing he had a long way to go.

Understandably they would say the same thing, but they would still remind him that, while yes he still had things to learn, he was definitely more skilled then most, and In a poetic way, alot of new silver needle members would come to learn from him, not just because of his skill, but because he was genuinely likeable as well, as he was someone who was always trying to help.

2th update:

Medical knowledge (edit): Misha has recently become better at doing his Medical profession, but not only that, he has become better in mental as well, making him more than just an expert, a revivalist. He will say he still has a long way to go, and he isn't wrong about that, but even so, he has become a greater doctor, but also in his own time a psychologist, which while never existed in this time period, he would still be in some ways an example of what an early psychologist looked like during this chinese era.

1th Diary entries: "recently I have found a cave, a cave that lead to place that... I never thought I would find. I wasn't even looking for a place such as this, and I stumbled upon it."

"It needed key however... which turns out I had it, a key resembling a dragon, once I put it in the cave would open up to me."

"I never really questioned where the duel blades came from, I just merely picked it up from someone who got arrested, someone in black clothes and red cloth. Now I understand how to actually use these blades, but further more... I've become interested in this group. Who are they? They aren't the well of heaven, they aren't the lone cloud, they are people I don't know the names of."

"When I was sneaking around in their quarters, they were everywhere, their eyes focused, sharp, attentive. It was difficult to pass through most areas, especially leaving the cave afterwards, I had to knock some of them out just to get through."

"When I reached the training area, I saw how the man used those blades, they weren't elegant moves, they were something vicious, dangerous, cunning, almost like a wolf. The more I observed the more I learned how to use the blades that stole."

there would be drawings on the next page of how they looked, with descriptions of how he would describe them, so felt ruthless, others felt agile and shrewd, as it was clear in his writing that he took the time to understand these blades and the combat style behind it, even saying that he was interested to find out what their philosophy is to the weapons.

"Regardless... I'll study it more when I get home, and perhaps learn who they are, because I have never seen a sect like this... never heard of it, not a word. Just something shrouded in darkness and secrecy... not even their name, drawing me in..."

"It's strange isn't it? How I always had an affinity towards the unknown. It always drew me in as a child, like faint whispers in my ear...

Medical quotes if you look really bad or just there for a check up or not:

  1. "You look like you went through hell... hold still, and no, this isn't up for discussion."
  2. "How the hell do you people get so badly sick and injured like this? Do you want to die?"
  3. "No and no, this isn't up for discussion, i don't care what you say, I'm forcing you to take this healing.

Normal medical quotes now if you are just for a check up:

  1. "Well... you seem like you went hell and back, Don't worry, this isn't permanent, I will admit this will hurt a little, but I'll be quick and delicate, I promise."
  2. "So you're the one who needed by help? Alright go ahead, sit down, and get comfortable, I'll start preparing the healing process, and don't worry, I've seen this before, many, many times, you will be just ok. You're in good hands."
  3. "Oh hello, what I can do for you...? Oh... I see, you look pretty bad, alright just give me something in return, it doesn't have to be anything big, just give me something small and ill start right away."

1th psychological analysis of Misha xue: When Misha first joined the silver needle, he didn't quite understand their philosophy properly, he understood that every life had a price, but he never took to consider what that price could be, what the sliver needle would take, and realising that The silver needle members could have anything they want as long as the price is reasonable, even if cruel. When he passed the test, he would assume he would have questions he would have to answer, instead he would find out it was a test to see if he was fit to be a silver needle. In the test he could of taken many things, belongings included, but he wasn't like that, instead he took what he thought wouldn't help the person he was healing.

He would never take a possession of someone they were mourning, he would never take money or anything that could make someone even more poor and instead take things he believed were causing those issues even if the person complained (only to realise perhaps later in the next following weeks that he helped them more then just heal them, he took away the thing that made them stuck in the same place.), and when it came to children, to orphans... he would only ask very very little, but if the circumstances were dire, he would forget about having to take anything, and focus only the patient, and only then perhaps take something, but sometimes, while no one is watching, he simply doesn't take anything, giving a person a chance to survive while understanding that no other silver needle would do the same thing, nor doctor.

So when Misha passed the test that's when he finally learned the philosophy of the silver needle, which could either be cruel... or kind, depending on the one you meet. This didn't disturb him too much at first, until a few days later into his work, he was with one of the silver needle as the silver needle member who was above him, asked an old man to give away a possession that belonged to his dead wife, a hairpin.

This made his chest tighten, and feel cold, shocked. As he would watch the scene play out, the man would beg and ask if there were any other alternatives, the silver needle sir said this would be the price, which made the old man upset and simply nod, as he would hand it to him, as the silver needle was about to take it, Misha would slap his hand away, this caused confusion in both men, but with different mixed emotions, for the man suprise, for the sir, annoyance. Misha would interfere and say "no, there are alternatives, I'll... I'll take this debt myself" this of course did not make the silver needle man happy, and he would argue that was not what they agreed upon and that this was breaking rules, Misha of course didn't care, which shocked the old man but was grateful, but at the same time, felt guilty that a young man was getting himself in trouble just because of him. But it was more then that, it was because Misha understood grief, and he experienced it. So seeing someone else take someone's possession of their loved one, hurt him see that, and made him simply angry, frustrated. It felt cruel, not right.

Once he and the silve needle man was done healing the old gentleman, Misha would simply give away a good chunk of money to the silver needle man, this of course didn't make things better, but it made things better for the old man, and that is what Misha was happy about. The old man would thank them both, but it was clear he thanked Misha way more then the silver needle man to some degree.

After hearing that, this would only make Misha filled with more shock then before but rage too, hatred that made him despise the man even more "What a garbage excuse! And don't throw this manipulation at me! I never disrespected you, you are only saying that because you didn't like the fact that i didn't let you get away with the cruelty you were about to get away with... wait, you chose that for a reason didn't you? You wanted to wear that hair pin didn't you, you liked how it genuinely looked didn't you? DIDN'T YOU!? YOU BLOODY ARSEH-" the chief physician would then slap his face with hard cold smack across the left side of Misha's face, as Misha would look at him with wide eyes as the silver needle sir would lean into his face, with a cold anger expression and simply say "now that's not a way to behave with someone above you now is it? And don't expect you won't in trouble for this, because guess what? You don't know anything, you're just still pup here, Don't think you are better then everyone else, because you aren't, you arrogant spoiled brat... and since you have been such trouble today... i think we will need to... re teach the philosophy once we come back to the clinic... as clearly it seems you haven't experienced enough consequences, haven't you?"

And that's how Misha got in trouble for the first time, luckily for him, the higher ranks were understanding, so instead of receiving a harsh punishment, he would get a smaller one, but it didn't change the fact he still had to go through one, all because he wanted to be a kind, patient, selfless, understanding, empathetic, humane individual. There was probably a better way around this where he didn't get in trouble but... he didn't see it, at first. But from there on he would be very very careful and shrewd about those sorts of things.

I think some or the uncanny was being caused by the eyebrows as well, as I noticed that when changing them, one felt more artificial, too clean, the other felt natural. So I thought why not make this version as well

I was just not sure if I was ready for midnight blades, as I heard they were supposed to be the "tough" sect. Well until the silver needle proved otherwise XD turns out getting patients was harder than killing. But either way once I left the silver needle (I was on the highest rank without leadership) I decided to finally bite the bullet and do what I wanted to do, join the midnight blades. Turns out was way Easier and perfect for me XD
