Inconsistent note totals

I noticed an issue today regarding the note totals in the end stats. I did down with the sickness 3 times on expert, once with 0% notes hit, once with no overdrive use, and one normal run. The first two has the same amount of total notes, but when I did the overdrive test it added extra notes to the total. The issue seems to be due to overdrive usage in some way counting extra notes twards the total. Played this on xbox series s on controller with the control setup of LT, LB, X, Y, A and RT for overdrive in case that matters.

It's to do with the chord dupe glitch, If you activate overdrive a few frames after hitting a chord note it will duplicate the chord.

I thought so too but i did another run specifically hitting overdrive late to avoid that and i got more notes
