awesome idea
thanks buddy!
- Gears mechanisms ⚙- Pulleys & attachable ropes
pulley basic mechanism on 3rd image
- Ropes could also be attached to nothing as a second anchor point if placement is canceled after the first anchor point has already been attached.
- Unattached rope extremity should be grabbable with hands & pushed when moving
This is a good idea!
ty! updated it with some minor changes
i love this idea
Geared pulley too, forgot these

This would add so much new possibility. I think a few different motors sizes would be essential.
cool
A motor would be nice too yeah! even without them we would be able to make big doors, bridge mechanisms, structures that can "deploy" into bigger ones, & so much other things. all of this only by attaching multiples ropes into a main one weighted at the exact balance so when you push a crate or something else on it (or activate thrusters placed on it) you could activate 30+ things in a room
thinking about that, motor size would not be necessary, instead we could have different gear size, this way we could increase or decrease torque, that would eighter decrease or increase the rotation speed of the last gear used to transmit rotational power
As cool as ropes and counterbalances sound, I think that may be hoping for too much for the LF team to deliver in the near future.
I agree, as long as they give us multiple gear sizes and they give us a decent way to set the gears to interact to increase or decrease the speed, that would work. Although, since don't have the ability to rotate things up, I think it would be helpful to have at least 2 motors, one pointing sideways and one pointing up. Maybe even one pointing down.
I think I had one or the other of these when I was a kid. That would at least be a great start.
one motor that can be placed facing any direction sound more convenient xD
but anyways with 2 gears in a L shape could be used to transmit the rotation to eighter a lateral or up/down side rotation (gears needs to be placeable in any direction)
yeah, even just a simple thing like that would be enough
cool
17 upvotes, nice guys!
I completely agree. If they made it like the thrusters so it would auto orient to any surface then that would work nicely.
Exactly!
ok
you're the best supporting bot so far xD
@white vigil
@hard sentinel this idea is great! If an engine could power it, so so many opportunities. I commented on 2/18
Let's hope this will be part of the "mechanical mayhem" update.
I would be so happy
yeah we talked about it too & went to something that could be applied, lego technic pieces in general would be a gamechanger
Did you see the update notes? I think we got our motor! So far only wheels that we can power with it, but it's a great start.
yeah, it's not exactly the same thing as a motor with "physical" movement transfert but they definitely heard us & stepped a big step further in the good direction because they made things the most modular they could
Agreed. Hopefully much more yet to come.
The more "easy to use, hard to master" systems we have the more mechanical we are
hehhe
up
Definitely still need some sort of gears, axles, hinges, and some sort of ropes/pulleys. The "mechanical mayhem" so far was only a drivers seat/steering wheel, a generic power source, and powered wheels. That's still very limited.
yeah
ADD A WINCH‼️‼️OR A ROPE SPOOL THAT CAN BE TOGGLED‼️‼️
We can make more things but it still not that permissive
they heard us for the vehicles even if it's not a perfect system atm, we can hope they listen out some of the most upvoted creative ideas the community are building together, such as this one
Agreed. The most reliable things I've made are basically vtols.
upvotes only play a very small role in wether a feature is added or not
depend, I should maybe open a reddit thread too idk
That would probably be a good idea. More visibility and likely community support.
