Yea, I play several other MMOs, but I feel what you are saying.
The whole "key" thing is very muddy.
That being said, we all run the risk when joining other players worlds of grinding out to build a nice world together and then them being a griefer and kicking us, they quit, or they just aren't as active as we are (meaning they have a life, they play other games, whatever the case may be)
That is just the risk we all take when we join other worlds.
Try to get the heads up and clarification on all of that before joining someone else's world.
And try talking to this person and interacting with them to see where they stand.
Communication goes a long way.

yeah I joined someone who was from here in this server and I myself am the inactive one
but I was given a key, and the world atleast last I saw from yesterday was last played on the 14th
