Summary
I'm suggesting that we change the Discord date format from the current American style (MM/DD/YYYY) to a more globally recognized format like day/month/year or year/month/day. This change is important because our server caters to a global audience for a game that isn't even out in America yet. The current format is causing unnecessary confusion and slowing down communication, especially for dates before the 12th of each month.
Explaining Why
- Creates ambiguity for dates below the 12th of each month
- Caused confusion when reading older announcements, affecting the understanding of when official announcements and responses were recorded
- Slows down comprehension for our multi-ethnic and multilingual community
- Feels culturally imperialistic, as it's not the standard format for most users
- Impacts the efficiency of communication and coordination within our global server
