Summary

I'm suggesting that we change the Discord date format from the current American style (MM/DD/YYYY) to a more globally recognized format like day/month/year or year/month/day. This change is important because our server caters to a global audience for a game that isn't even out in America yet. The current format is causing unnecessary confusion and slowing down communication, especially for dates before the 12th of each month.

Explaining Why

  • Creates ambiguity for dates below the 12th of each month
  • Caused confusion when reading older announcements, affecting the understanding of when official announcements and responses were recorded
  • Slows down comprehension for our multi-ethnic and multilingual community
  • Feels culturally imperialistic, as it's not the standard format for most users
  • Impacts the efficiency of communication and coordination within our global server

there's no such settings on discord to my knowledge. its probably the user's phone manufacturing settings or their location zone is using said time format.

Discord uses your regional language settings for this!

Since I’m from the U.S., here is mine. But when you change yours to a different ENG region, it’ll adjust the date format.
