I have played the game for HOURS... and just figured out how to use the Soul Coins. My suggested feedback would be, allowing players to click on the Soul Coin icon on the top-left of the map, and it brings up a menu of things that can be upgraded using the Soul Coins.

I had the same experience. I had a ton of coins and no idea how to use them. I didn't realize the archive was for upgrades until I saw someone discuss it on a thread.
