What if a couple of mortars spawned around the map that kinda shot them around where they are
rn im using a particle system for a temporary weather effect.i did think about mortars/cannons launching them, but this comes with the disadvantage of rng not spreading cannons correctly, firework particles going through stuff, etc
the plan rn is client-sided firework particle system, layered behind all objects and localized like rain.
im implementing it with unity tools tmr, we'll see how it goes
i might have to edit the particles
my biggest fear is render distance height being odd, but i don't think its a problem especially since bozoros fireworks can be seen a mile away
who knows
i do 100% think some tweaks will be needed
although in unity they looked great from a player perspective
interior idea where you actually just enter a sprawling environment instead of an interior
not like greenhouse or midnight sanctuary

I would say, for the trail, it shouldnt just go at a fixed speed and instead start fast and end slow, then dissappearing and idk 1 second later the firework actually exploding :3
Also if it could curve it would be even better but maybe thats harder

they do feel too high in the sky/too small
that's a little hard to do with the way the "fixed speed" works
The faster it is the shorter the height
i could maybe try to make them a bit bigger? but making them high in the air is to make the illusion of distance
The "distance illusion" will become better to see, since there will be a "layering" change I want to achieve that makes them appear only when unobstructed by the environment
that way they look like physical, far-off objects

Making it work like outer wilds having you properly rotate around it is impossible without custom scripts though.
A vertical moon with scaffolding going inside the asteroid sounds really fun, whether or not he can make the camera rotating system.

out of other moon ideas i like padlock the most but these are all cool (idea of flagon kinda scares me because i feel like outdoor hygroderes are gonna camp the fuck out of the ship without some way of preventing that behaviour) and would like to maybe see em someday even if they don't win poll
so far with the moons, the main challenges are:
FLAGON: Large map, would need lots of details and work with transparency for Hygroderes. Lots of models needed.
PERMANENCE: The gravity, although Xu actually said it's possible and not that hard to do
PADLOCK: Lots of plant details, trees, skyboxes, water, etc. Falling rocks
FOIBA: Huge interior & fire exit balancing
Do smth simple for your first one bud, that is my only advice
it would require crazy amounts of complicated bullshit to function
but it's not impossible

lethal company already has a way to alter a player's perspective and walking surface. That's an important step basically complete thanks to the cruiser
now the other step is parenting a player's center of gravity towards a certain object.

that's just an issue with how, for example, piggy tries to restore the animator
my vehicle animations don't break other animations, but i also do it a slightly different way than piggy
upon entering a vehicle, i:
backup the animator thats on the player
apply my own animator
upon exiting i:
apply the backed up animator if it exists
if not for whatever reason, apply the global reference to the vanilla animator in StartOfRound
the only reason anims would "break" upon leaving is if the backed up animator was already fucked up
for the most part, it'll probably just be backing up the vanilla animator
hence, why it isn't breaking shit
piggys mod, which i'm pretty sure is what you're referring to, applies an animator that is just, idk whats wrong with it but its completely borked, rather than backing up the current animator or something

Anyway, I sent Paco a message about some gravity stuff, I feel it could fit in nicely with the footstep implementations that DawnLib already has and I'm getting his opinion on it, no promises but I'll see if direction and strength of gravity can be changed to suit the surfaces needs

If youβve encountered an issue with it you can report it in the DawnLib thread. If itβs because of resetting configs or βforcing mods to updateβ (whatever thatβs meant to mean???) then its natural for mods to update and the configs to change. It happened even before DawnLib.
If you donβt have an actual good reason then youβre more than welcome to just not use any mod that uses DawnLib instead of being an asshole to devs.
