developed in partnership with vm motori
developed 250 hp and 550nm of torque

also, there were some prototype first gen 9-5s that were meant to have like

with a 6 speed manual + all wheel drive
i had pictures of them but i cant find them anymore

rebuilding in v80 seems to of fixed it! i'll post an update for the v55 cruiser soon

I never see Cruiser mods. The only one I ever play with is the Company Hauler, but it hasn't been updated for v80 yet. This looks like a really really nice addition to the modded vanilla-like vehicle line-up!
I'll let you know what I think about it when I get the chance to actually play it. But Xu told me that I should send you some love for making this mod - it really does look super promising!

works like the normal car EXCEPT THE DESYNC
but there is a recentering config

i just made it a little smoother
so it doesn't just instantly stop turning when you release the inputs
i'm talking about the vanilla cc
it is manual recentering by default
if you use mods like cruiserimproved it removes 2/3 of the steering animation as a "fix" for the desync which might be why you're not used to it
this retains a 900 degree steering wheel rotation like a real car
and there's a "curve" to it so you don't need to turn the wheel as much to get more steering angle
there's also this ^
you turn left, car go left, you put it straight, car go straight, you turn right, car goes right
if you enable auto centering, wheel go straight when no inputs

you know, this is something i've always been conflicted about, i've never really been sure how to make something that "provides more benefit in comparison to the cruiser" because the cruiser kinda already does everything for most people.
sure i have an overhead roof which provides protection from alot more enemies, it also has more health and reworked durability, its also way more engaging and fun to drive compared to the Cruiser, etc
i guess calling it an alt is fair, but the hauler also suffers the exact same problem
i'm not really sure what i could add to "innovate" on the cruiser

i do actually think the manual is arguably better to drive
you have more control over the torque delivered to the wheels
and you're not waiting on a slushbox to decide what gear it wants to be in
So does it being manual mean that if the driver were to become incapacitated by some means it would not just continue accelerating forwards and flying off a cliff like our favorite other car?

that only happens due to a host bug in vanilla
in an automatic car if you became incapacitated your foot wouldnt be planted on the gas
same for manual
I just mean that most automatic cars apply a small amount of gas so when you aren't on the brake you move forwards slightly, even without pressing the gas
But also the cruiser just flies away which is way worse than what a real automatic one would do
it's not a fully realistic manual since.. there's no point in making realistic physics, especially when no one would appreciate or notice that in gameplay
clearly even in a basic form its already causing chaos for people lol, which is fine, i expected this (and i will not be changing this)

General rule of thumb when trying to use the Scanvan

If you see a battery light on the dashboard, the engine is not running but the power is on (key in). Starting the engine will make this go away. (The battery light is from a cut feature that is no longer in the mod and has no effect on anything

There is a handbrake between the front seats, there is also a light on the dashboard to indicate whether it is engaged or not

Completely press the clutch DOWN and use your set shift key to shift either up or down a gear, then release the clutch once the shift is completed

You can stall the car in any gear other than neutral, but you have to really be trying to do so

No, we haven't tried it on it's own yet. Using Imperium alongside it was supposed to be that - so we didn't have to grind for money to purchase it
I've never ever had Imperium break a mod so I highly doubt that's the issue.
i have used imperium alongside it plenty of times and its been just fine
i'm going to test it a few times on a LAN session again and see if i can break it

a clutch is used in a stick shift car to disengage the gearbox and engine to allow you to change gear

in the worst case scenario i'd just make sure you don't have anything else that you might not be aware of messing with animations or something
judging from your log, your playerbodyanimator may of been null or for whatever reason the old global variable was being reset to null
which would cause none of your animations to work at all
oh, hm, i wonder if me resetting the stop animation trigger before replacing the animator is causing problems

Don't apologize, it's alright. It's to be expected - you just released this mod like an hour ago.
When I released my mod, it took until 1.0.3 before my audio files actually played lmao. Before that the first two versions the mod didn't even do anything at all.
been thinking about it, 1.0.3 might be the one that fixes it, since i do believe what is happening is because i reset the stopanimation before replacing the player animator, something something the game sets that flag and then it causes you to stand up, but for other clients they reset your trigger after and then set the sitting down animation, which is why they see you sat down
this is not how i had it before, i changed it when rewriting the animation code to be more modular
no idea why i changed that part in specific, but i did
i have reverted it now, anyways
this has to be it, i don't see any other reason for it to just brick its self
custom animations are a pain to get working properly :p
It's worth it. Seeing that custom reaching animation for the radio blew my socks off

and its a manual box with a bunch of different positions

and you can only add 4 turbo boosts
i never figured out what i would like to replace the boost ability with
so i just did that for the meantime
a scan seems like the obvious answer but idk what that scan would do
the hop feature remains pretty much unchanged
iโll have to see how much the boost is nerfed but it sounds pretty good
if people still manage to fly over entire maps then i guess i'll nerf it a tad bit more :p

just coming back to this since I had a think about it, this is what everyone said about the cruiser when it just came out and no one knew how to use it :>

i guess, for the most part, it's what i wanted to make
though, it is also just an amalgamation of ideas thrown together over time
but, y'know
and like i said, every vehicle is just going to suffer the same issue

i think i'll use an ATV as a more realistic example here since its something alot of people have suggested
an ATV seats 1, would make you far more vulnerable and, durability wise, would be pretty fragile. an atv also can't haul as much loot and would probably be slower speed wise
the only thing that has over the cruiser is being cheaper and slightly more suited to rough terrain, and probably a bit easier to control
it's not really about being vastly superior to the cruiser :p
every vehicle will have its flaws and its strengths, and it's a bit of a losing battle if your only intent is just "be better than vanilla cruiser in every way"
I'm not upset if you don't enjoy it, that's okay, was just addressing it again now that I had a moment to think about it

really love all the stuff especially the three seats but man the controls are not fun to get used to
for the most part the control scheme is "mostly the same as vanilla"
the clutch is an additional thing that allows you to change gear
if it makes it any better i had genuine thoughts one time about adding individual triggers you had to look at for each gear lmfaoo

if you can master the cc you can master this, probably
idk what it is but i kept having to try the ignition
it's like driving a real manual car
the ignition chance stuff is about the same as vanilla
vanilla doesn't start on the key immediately
also make sure you were holding the clutch down while starting

if you just leave it in gear at too low of a speed and dont use the clutch

like a real car
i mean like when i was driving, i think i stopped too suddenly which made me have to try the ignition

this is a manual car
so it has the ability to stall

if you're trying to drive in like fourth everywhere of course it's gonna struggle
different gears also provide different amounts of torque

it's going to do that if you don't clutch in before you hit a wall
clutch modulation may take some time getting used to, but it's not impossible
i tried to make the clutch as forgiving as i could since most people are on keyboard
yea i guess im just not used to the clutching and the stalling
it's a learning curve
i didn't want to make it too hash and punishing on players
it's actually pretty difficult to stall it unless you're just intentionally trying or as you said, slammed into a wall
or maybe if you try too steep of a slope
there is a clutch assist that works in the background on inclines
it has a max inclination of 32 degrees and at that point its at its max
and cant assist anymore than that

but otherwise bvc doesnt touch this
bvc just.. wouldnt work if it touched this vehicle anyways
like my gearbox is detached from the vanilla cruisers gearbox system
the clutch is only something on mine that the cc doesnt have
bvc wouldn't touch any of that
so if it tried to change into "drive" it just wouldn't do anything
since i dont have code to handle an automatic gearbox

the inputs have some decay so it tapers off

i think that combined with the heaviness makes it feel more controllable
the issue with the cc being uncontrollable is literally because of how zeeks sets the center of mass lol
he sets the center of mass after the wheels set their sprungMass

there's quite alot of shit going on under the hood
especially when compared to something like the hauler when it first came out

and toggling that also means if you have any cruisertunes mods/ custom music they can play on "cd" mode
