You'd just be making Rend a little worse, but it would still be miles better than Dine.
dine's scrap is technically a tad better than rend's already

on average dine generates more total scrap than rend does, so if you're full clearing, you will get more returns from dine
the problem is just that full clearing rend is way more feasible
so that's kind of a wash, in the end
also in fairness if you're full clearing rend
you're probably nutcracker farming too, on the side
in which case rend does eclipse dine yeah

Well the issues is that Dine spawns more items, but the quality is worse so total profit ends up the same (literally like $8 average difference iirc). By swapping scrap pools you address this and this space the two moons apart
all arguments are if you give it enough time
i swapped dine and rend pools in this mod a long time ago
i dont super agree with just swapping their pools wholesale
and tweaked them some
rend's scrap feels super thematic
but i think a good way to nerf it would be to increase lower quality "household items"

There is that will concede, a simple swap is just the easy way and demonstrates my idea. You could be more meticulous and keep the pool the same while changing spawn rates

every time i play dine just feels like a "better" rend with harder hazards, and rend isn't totally overshadowed because a. i made dine a bit more expensive and b. weathers tend to come into play a lot

i think the problem here is that nutcrackers feel like they were designed for the express purpose of being a dangerous encounter with a very lucrative reward
and butlers were designed for the express purpose of being unkillable
killing a butler spawns a permanent enemy that doesn't take up slots (to prevent other enemies from spawning)
nutcrackers are 5 hits and butlers are 8
nutcrackers have a clear attack pattern with a very punishing attack, butlers just kind of leech off of you in general proximity
etc.
and then the drop itself
one drops a $60 item that can instakill most enemies in close range and the other drops a really shitty shovel
does rend have a high chance of nutcracker infestation or whatever it was? last time i played there i remember seeing like 10+ nutcrackers keep getting spawned and no one except me survived that day 😭
The fact Mask Hornets do not take up enemy power and are invincible means knife farming is hard too, ideally you wait until later in the day but on Dine that is suicide
the knife was so buggy im not convinced it was ever seriously used as a weapon in any of zeekerss' playtests

The knife is weird because the only enemy it's useful for killing outside of butlers are nutcrackers
although because of the way infestations are programmed, hoarding bug infestations get replaced with nutcracker infestations on rend

You have to wail on them while they're reloading
so 3 infestation days in a row is still a very low chance isnt it 
rend's default spawn weight for nutcrackers is 100 (which is the maximum weight in vanilla)
and because of a bug with vanilla, that spawn weight will overflow past 100 as nutcrackers spawn
(at least i presume it's a bug)

zeekerss later alluded to the fact that it's ok for moons like offense/dine to be unbalanced because of what the drill parts will do for the game in the longterm

I see some players say v49 Dine was better because it more atmospheric (wide open and fear of the unknown or smth), but I fail to see how anything that moon had was not also covered by Rend. The claustrophobic mountain maze with the red herring light trail is simply peak and gives it a unique identity, second to only Artifice’s exterior imo

well, the reason zeekerss doesnt carve is so that enemies will still be able to target and path to you without stuttering while you're in the ship, if you carved navmesh they'd just stutter in place trying to get to you
i dont know much about navmesh creation truthfully speaking, only handling it, but maybe the navmesh from inside ship to outside ship smaller, or stuff like that would help, i noticed enemies clip in through the corners of the ship door, specifically around the right side looking outwards from inside the ship
i also dont know how obstacles entirely work, maybe u could make it bigger so it'd block more while door is closed but that'll probably be noticeable if you do it front and back rather than left right

that's odd, zeekerss has two navmesh obstacles right next to eachother for the door

as far as I understand it, non carving obstacles are not intended to be used this way
unfortunately there isn't really a better option as far as keeping the behavior the same
for doors in the interior, what zeekerss could have maybe done is had carving obstacles plus navmesh links with extra data saying what to activate when an agent tried to cross them, but that's quite a bit more involved and requires them to write code to do navmesh link traversal for every agent in the game that should know how to open doors
as far as the ship doors go, I really doubt there's a good solution other than just preventing stutters
unless you find a way to make a maximum simulation step size in the AI update subsystem
well the thing about the ship doors is that on march specifically
you don't even need a low framerate for enemies to clip through the door
they just do
so it's like there's two separate things going on there

I've had this idea for a company building rework since forever where the company building almost acts like a hub for multiple other crews/sets of players to meet at, but separated by tall fencing. You can talk and interact with other crews but you can't touch or enter each other's area, however, if you truly wish, you can risk punishment by using ladders to pass scrap into each other's area to help them out, but your own company creature has to be distracted with scrap you are currently depositing

heyo! ive noticed a bug with your mod thats very strange, whenever i land on any moon with 2 or more fire exits (March for example), the fire exits are all clumped together in a group of two and one, and the ones that group (on march specifically) are always the one off to the right of the ship, and the one on the left in the dip by the main entrance
other then the fire exits, your mod is super cool!
I didnt add any extra fire exits to march, i simply moved one, so this is just a vanilla/LLL bug
not much i can do for this mod, but when my pc is working again i plan on doing an interior mod that adds minimum fire exit distance

btw maybe you could compare by texture name, I think finding every single moon with a custom skybox will be quite hard.
also fyi brightness values in the skybox texture can affect global lighting so it might change how the moon looks like (and the interior too)

Hmm, I'd assume almost nobody would randomly rename the skybox texture, so it should be the same as in the patched project. Of course if someone did it would break the matching process

On the host machine set notepad as a local game
Then on the machine your accessing it from just run notepad remotely and once it loads press f11 (I think it’s f11? It’s been a bit) and then that makes a new edge tab open for Microsoft notepad support forcing you out of the notepad window

- game is loaded, lethallevelloader doesnt need to load a scene because it's a vanilla level
- you replace the scene name with one that needs to be hotloaded
- lever pulled, scene isn't loaded

i dont replace scene name i use LLL's scene selector feature but yea
if you route to another vanilla level it doesnt happen
but if you land immediately when creating a lobby without routing to another moon it happens
probably because lethallevelloader has a callback to hotload when the ship is rerouted
i was just gonna add some hacky code to force load the bundle if a lobby is created and the current moon is a vanilla one

need to make sure you're testing on non-overcast weather
