Lethal Company is full of fauna, but when you look at it there's only one floral (technically two given the bracken) pest in the game so far and even then it more just paves way for an enemy to hide in it. With that in mind, seems like a fun idea to just flood the game with both ambient, helpful and harmful flora to add both more randomized atmosphere, help and danger to the game.
Tall Grass:
Simply just patches of tall grass that randomly generate, up to the height of an employee.
Tulip Stalks:
Corn-like stalks bundling tulips, they have a green open bulb for tulip snakes to nestle upon.
Mushrooms:
mixed bag mushrooms that also generate inside facilities in patches of up to 3-4. They do all sorts of things:
- Increasing size and voice pitch by a bit, also increasing reach of items.
- Decreasing size and voice pitch by a bit, also decreasing reach of items.
- Applying overlays of effects, kinda like shaders. Brightening, darkening, wobbling, inverting colors.
- Hallucinations that either swap your view of something for something else or make fake functioning enemies for you.
- Tinker with the pitch and reverb of your friends or sounds.
- If red with white spots, kills you.
- Heal you.
- Make you temporarily lose lb storage for easier carrying.
- Make you temporarily gain lb storage.
They also generate around corpses after a few minutes.
Moss:
On forested moons, interiors could grow moss patches that also grow outdoor plants.
Bubble Plants:
They make bubbles float about.
Spores:
Constantly release spore fumes around them, and are terrible to work around indoors.
Burdock:
Stay out of these things, they like to latch their seeds onto anything that goes across them and they add weight.
Hydrangea:
They grow in a variation of colors in a curved formation.
Roses:
Similar to hydrangea, only difference being that they hurt walking through them.
Feel free to have ideas of your own, I just wanted to get a gist down for this.
