@unreal harness It appears Blahuce has a negative scrap weight, picking him up and dropping him will cause you to gain weight after dropping him which is a negative weight issue. It can be fixed by changing the weight from 0 to 1, or 0.X to 1.X

doesnt seem like an actual issue, just an unlucky situation of getting stuck in a tree lol
from our testing, if you dont get stuck in a tree, you dont take fall damage
so uh, major L
the arthur ford death sound is crazy
cant even recreate the death because base game trees dont have collision in their branches

I used the crab in a modpack yesterday multiple times and took no fall damage so idk what it could be.
if you lag spike or run the game at 5fps that could also cause damage as it never had time to reset your fall damage calculation before you land.
i think its because it counted the tree at the ground, which removes fall damage protection

well you can escape from enemies, but it takes skill to line it up

also I meant that what happened to me wasn't helpful at all- accidentally falling somewhere you don't want to fall is sort of the risk part of the risk and reward it brings imo
also because of how high it flings you you'll pretty much always die, so
they could def add reduced fall damage, like maybe capping it at around 30 from full charge and then downgrading per charge
also this mod has like, 3 things in it that float that definitely should not float so I wouldn't bother arguing logic here

Like a risk reward type of enemy
Or if you accidentally walk over one on low health when you're not being cautious

Personally I think fall damage should be a configurable option for those who want it

honestly I just tested the new enemies and** i really don't like the balancing and think they're not fun or multilayered**
Clownfish is a 20sec speedhack without downsides and subtleties
and Horseshoecrab is another enormous movement tool with zero downsides.
here's how to give them a "lethal company" feel instead of a "Scriptkiddie gave me godmode or speedhack for a few seconds" feel:
Nemo gives you full TZP effects the moment you activate him
Horseshoecrab is either adjusted in catapult height in a way that you will only take 50+ falldamage when you land in a pit/downhill (think being catapulted down into vows fireexit)
and moderate falldamage if you jump on level elevation. no or little if you go uphill
OR: fixed fall/initial catapult damage
I don't think the current balancing of these enemies are very fun to play with.
Here's an example of why i think the balancing is off:
Tulip snakes: if you don't know what you're doing they might kill you in a fun way.
you need 2 or more to fly, steering them will take some effort. if you do know what you're doing they might be inconvenient but occasionally helpful, you can easily bring a cashy and 3 bolts outside early on adamance and fly to ship
you don't control when they start flying or stop
it might be hard to find 2
they aren't super fast
Now imagine if tulip snakes were just a jetpack that stops working after 15 seconds, and despawn at 3:16pm
that's basically nemo and horse are right now
I have to disagree tbh. The horse shoot crabs are a double edged sword. They can either be helpful or harmful. When used correctly they can get you around quicker, but if not paying attention (which is the key factor I love) you might step on one and find your self in a bad situation if not possibly dead. I had a moment I was running from a giant, stepped on 1 and landed on a 2nd one and died. It was hilliarious.
Clownfish, can give you a 1 time speed buff yes, but if not careful your speed can be your downfall. But again its a 1 time speed buff. Nothing wrong with that at all especially given how many threats exist outside. If you don't kill him and let him follow you he can end up alerting dogs.
Mods typically are not designed for balancing because you would need to factor in the hundreds of other mods out there. But they do come with configs so you as the host can balance it as you see fit. They are designed to be fun. If you don't like how it balances your mod pack then adjust the config. I don't like the Urchins so I turned them off. Mantis Shrimp are too powerful so I turned down the number that can spawn. Use your configs to adjust the balancing.
1 potential issue I encountered.
I will say I noticed 1 issue though involving Bruce. When a player gets hurt but heals back their health Bruce will still go for them and kill anyone who gets in his way. He doesn't recognize players healing.

if you hit the horseshoot it'll get charged up
each charge contributes to how high you go when you get launched
I didnt put fall damage on it because the way its handled is either it feels inconsistent or you take damage everytime even if you launch to a higher area
Which feels bad
And without fall damage protection, green is insta kill
What if using horseshoot alerted all outside enemies to your presence or something?
Or wait what if it just did a base amount of damage depending on the color of the tail at launch

thing is it would be really cool if you could avoid taking damage by using it properly, like launching yourself to a higher area like rod said

This is what we tried to do in the first place. The max dmg u were suppose to take no matter the fall distance was 80 on red. 50 on yellow and 0 on green but it worked differently for everyone becuase of an fps dependent bug.
Bruces target seeking literally sets his target to null every 0.1 seconds and searches for the closest injured player. If the player HP isnt above the threshold for some reason he will still hunt.
This could be a client server issue.
If the client is healing without telling the server bruce will still hunt because he reads the servers knowledge about the players HP
There would be a way to request up to date client HP values but that would incur round trip latency to his targeting system.

my only issue w surfaced honestly is the defaults that make every enemy in it appear like crazy (except for bruce) but that's easily configurable

Hey, I have a lil' request regarding configuration, hope it isn't too complex nor that I come across badly for wanting this.
Don't get me wrong, I love Bruce but it would be nice if we could disable the Pickle on a Stick from being available in the shop, either by setting the price to -1 or though a toggle.
youre the second person that has asked that, forgot to do it the first time lol, but out of curiosity why do you want it disabled? is it taking too much shop space?

indoor enemy. when spawned from a vent, only their mouth appendage is sticking out. when a player steps on it, the mouth will harpoon and snare them, force them to drop their items, deal very rapid chip damage, kill, then pull them into the vent, despawning both

why would it be either of those two?
Well those are the 2 that usually spawn on most moons, I suppose the Bell Crab might but it only moves if you whack it
It was Matty that informed me it was happening regardless of moon we went to and he narrowed it down to those

a falling anchor that will fall super fast on the player if it detects anything below it, can be marked with an x at the ground or not, but will fall if it detects only instakilling the player, basically a spike trap but it isnt obvious since spiketraps are always turning on and off, this one would be much harder to spot if the player isnt looking around (but can be much smaller/cover less area)
can perhaps kill people who are walking only since you may be fasrt enough to outrun it
i also had an idea for some sort of stonefish that would give you debilitating debuffs like dizziness and slowness and bleeding and other screen altering motion sicknesses if stepped on, can be hit with a shovel and it will bury itself in the ground and despawn, perhaps a more outside enemy or inside
a collosal squid monster would also go hard
in my mind it would replace the mimics mod, they would devour you/pull you in with their tentactles and kill you, they could have barely visible tentactles sticking out or sounds when really close, hitting the door with the shovel kills you but escapable if fast
but can be an actual monster
