A couple things to report:
- ||The Monarch can't bite you if you stand on top of the ship dashboard, making it quite easy to cheese. I think the hitbox needs to extend vertically a bit more. It also struggles to get you if you go behind the terminal + ship dashboard in that corner in the normal ship.||
- ||Another issue with the Monarch, unsure if its intentional, is that the body it spawns on death has collision still. This can very easily get people trapped or softlocked, especially if it comes into the ship and you aren't using wider ship or something. If it is intentional, i think an option to make the body dissapear or lose its collision would be a good idea||
- Seems that meteors now strike the giant "floating" meteors as they come down, meaning not that many land on the moon surface compared to before. I assume that's a bug? Also, i guess its worth mentioning here that a big issue i noticed in old CodeRebirth was that meteors could strike trees and then spawn gems in inaccessible spots like that. If they don't already, perhaps having them destroy trees they hit would be a good idea. Would also make finding gems easier when its finished.
- The Driftwood AI seems really bugged out. I assumed it was because i first tested with Imperium, but it happens anytime it spawns anywhere. It like...seems to stutter as it is moving, something i have only seen Jimothy do as well on rare occasions. It also targets Cutieflies, despite them being blacklisted by default in the config and i havent changed the blacklist at all. It repeatedly tries to attack them, and seems really bad at spotting and chasing players compared to the GiantSpecimens version, i expect that the issues are coming from it targetting things it shouldnt and then its freaking out.

Looking at CRLib's map objects and their OutsideSpawnMechanics, seems like it has properties for curves on all moons, vanilla, custom, and overrides for specific ones, is there a way I can just find out what it has on Experimentation or any other moon without having to pretty much figure it out myself from those properties?

Here is the Meteor one, a lil tricky to spot, but you can see the explosion effect of it hitting the floating meteor, the only ones that land are the ones that slip past

It turns out to not be that since I changed the bad comma to a . And it's still there, I suspect it's the config since I changed spawn weights of different things, will continue to investigate tomorrow
Well, for me personally, meteor shower (as it was) was mine (and most of my group's) favourite weather

The mad rush to get inside at the start, then hiding away inside until about 6pm~ (in our pack) with the boosted monster power and higher scrap value (or gambling and trying to run home with items early), then having the end of the day to bring stuff back and look for gems as a few outside enemies start spawning
Feels distinct compared to a normal run, more dangerous but worth it for the gems + higher scrap value
Meteors also kinda balance themselves based on moon size
Smaller moons like Triskelion make meteors really bad, but also makes finding gems easy later. It also makes it easier to get inside before the meteors can reach you.
Larger moons meanwhile make it much less likely a meteor will hit you, but also makes finding the gems harder.
It all kinda naturally balanced out well, so long as you kept it as a rare + profitable weather
We also make meteors slightly slower (40 iirc), which makes them just about reactable if you look up, enough to sprint out of the way if you judge the trajectory, but still an issue cuz of beartraps and stuff
If meteors now are stopped by the giant floating rocks, well...it kinda undermines the whole danger of it a lot. Would also make it less profitable. Basically just waters it down to being a nuisance weather.
I think those people prefer meteors being blocked by the rocks because they probably dont have the speed of them turned down (so they cant really dodge them), struggle to find gems and dont have the scrap value boosted enough....or play in packs with stuff like Casino or SellBodies on default settings
where balance doesnt matter so they dont care for the boosted scrap value and just dont like the weather killing them lol

I think a simply dirty way of making the weather less annoying for people is to make the damage configurable

Here is the ||Monarch|| stuff. First time i ran away because i thought it'd kill my friend but it didnt. As you can see though, it tried to bite us and only pushed me off the ship dashboard, and when i came back it still couldnt hit him, so it was pretty easy to kill from there. Had we not slipped off the dashboard, we could have killed it from just sitting on there and hitting it i am sure.
You can also see him get stuck after it dies for a bit, though that was partially because of the terminal. Had it died by the wall though, same thing probably would have happened

Wait, are you sure? From what i knew, the ||Guardsman is seperate to the Merchant. It has its own thing in LQ, and in the config it has like a weight of 1 on some moons like titan or something, so its like a super rare creature?? i assume that wouldnt be the shopkeeper||

to me, it kinda feels a bit immersion breaking cus it makes it more obvious that the flying meteors are close up
plus it makes the weather too trivial, if you want it easy set the max rate to 1. Right now if you set the rate really high it wont matter cus they will all get eaten by the flying meteors.

||moons can be tagged as "company moons". These moons do not progress the day counter, usually have no daylight-cycle, and have a way of selling scrap available to the player
Shyling left Oxyde on the final day ("0 days left") without selling any scrap, and since Oxyde is considered a "company moon", they were immediately ejected after leaving, as is the case with all company moons when you fail to make quota on the final day||

Agh I wish that one person would reply to me. They tested my modpack, had the same problem, but like nothing else has been said about it. My problem was it didn't eject going to ||oxyde|| with 0 days remaining. Like it just stayed 0 and we went back as many times as we wanted
But I have yet to replicate it
So I'm worried about a bug that I can't fix rn cuz idk what caused it

Also just for closure, this person tested and said it was bugged before using my modpack to test it. So I do think that this issue is coderebirth related. If it's not, then of course I won't say it isn't but again, they tested and confirmed even before my modpack from what I understand. I also tested to make sure it wasn't just vanilla behaviour, and I can confirm, you are ejected 0 days remaining on company moons with or without scrap/with or without selling. Though on my current modpack the issue isn't present and I now get fired normally such as after leaving 0 day ||oxyde||, I have done nothing to my modpack since then except for one small thing so it may be something that appears occasionaly. This is just an overall reminder as it seemed like it was just my modpack that was causing this when (as it stands) it wasn't. I'll try to see what could be causing it though if it ever happens again.

could you add a config to make it so the cacti giant doesnt spawn cacti inside? i just think its kind of annoying being forced to take a shovel inside due to an outside enemy.

Since in some modpacks it doesn’t make much sense. It’s legitimately painful to be liminal house without a shovel when a cactus giant happens to spawn outside.

I think the inside cacti are fun, but they can be really annoying without a weapon so maybe a configurable timer?
Like after 30 seconds of being inside or on the ship, it stops targeting you?
So this assumes you have 2 bundles, 1 bundles with the Mod Information and Content Definition
And then 1 bundles with the CREnemyDefinition (since you're doing an enemy)
If you have the editor dll put into your project, then you can build your mod in the unity editor to get a zip
The place where you find the button to build is in Mod Information
is the mod information required? i'd rather just write the text files myself
It is for a non code Mod but if u want u can always edit the zip that comes out, the main thing it does is organise the files in the right folder structure

The one with Content defnition and Modinformation can have any enemy as long as extension is .crmod
The one with enemy definition needs to have the same name you put for it in the Content definition

Extensions are basically what me and batby use to find your bundles because they could have any name, so I use it for the main bundle and from there I can find the other bundles if it follows a specific folder structure nearby the main bundle

also I disagree spawn curves on objects n stuff is really annoying config-wise, that's better suited for moon content handling (i.e. scrap, enemy curves etc)

The configs are just to match how vanilla handles it, it wouldn't make sense if hazards/objects were spawned through a weight system because that's not a system that determines how much should spawn but it determines what should spawn out of a pool of enemies

Happened a lot on Oldred too, idk why it spawned on bridges so much
tbf it's just a shame on the config but that's about it (although i can't lie it was a bad idea to force-enable configs cause it did not sit well with my save that had them disabled originally lol)
I had to get an old version of my configs from before the update from a friend because new update nuked a lot of them
Since stuff got changed around internally and the mod automatically deletes unused config stuff
But other than that I've had an almost entirely positive experience with the new stuff
Especially the enemies, they're all really well done
I never play with the hazards n stuff anyway so the config changes wasn't the worst for me, my save still works but my ship was flooded by random... things. Idek what they were or why they appeared but yeah that's why you don't force-enable configs like that lmao
I like the enemies for the most part, but I can't tell if funny driftwood man attacks any entity or only outdoors cause IMPERIUM is still BROKEN and won't let me SPAWN VANILLA ENEMIES grgrgrrkr
I think the gals are the only thing I have disabled, although I massively lowered the spawnrates of hazards and crates and the like

looks like random chance. I did spawn her in and chase her (glad imperium has a funny data thing you can enable for enemies) the ||slow effect you got hit by is her death sentence, if you can't break eye contact in time you lose head privileges||

it wasnt entirely up to me to force-enable configs, i warned people that a lot of their configs will be re-made due to internal changes (though i would still force-enable everything atleast once because most things in the mod got reworked and upgraded)

that way instead of being constantly annoying inside and forcing you to take a shovel, it becomes an enemy that causes problems for your trip back to the ship, and becomes a whack-a-mole situation for ship guy
ship guy usually has a shovel lying around somewhere, so that i dont see being an issue. he sits still anyways, so its not like being forced to sacrafice 15 pounds of weight simply because an enemy exists

The cactus budling is meant to be dangerous, I knew people would find it "annoying" but its meant to pressure you, contrasting with the other giants which are overall less lethal, and cacti dont kill you at critical so if you are caught by cacti its not too bad. We'll add a config for cacti to degrade after a bit but nothing else

||Ah, i see. Yeah. if thats the case, i may make it have less HP and increase the weight of the weapon to make it less practical. Having something be unkillable except via cheese kinda sucks if it provides something of high value, similar issue to the sapsucker only be killable via infighting / weather effects / cruiser which are all niche and moon specific. I'd rather it be more like a nutcracker where you can do it fairly consistently with practise and skill and all, though that would make them maybe too similar||

@placid veldt revised the code a bit and basically, if you wanna modify a moon's curve for that hazard, you'd first need to check if either the InsideMapObjectSpawnMechanics or OutsideMapObjectSpawnMechanics for their curves dictionary
They have two curve dictionaries
One for custom lebels
Levels
And one for vanilla levels
First you'd check if the dictionary has the moon entry to begin with, if it does you can replace it, if not you can add to it
The vanilla dictionary is a bit weird since its based on an enum for all vanilla levels rather than their name

I've got a few more things to report from when we played again last night, if you want any of it on the github lmk
- Coins in the ship from the Piggy Bank persist after being ejected. We broke a piggy bank during the eject sequence, and then when we respawned in the ship on quota 1 the coins were still there. Dont know if its because we did it then, or they just persist in general
- Similarly, ||Oxyde|| remains unlocked after wiping. Dunno if its intentional, since thats how ||Wesley's moons work in Journeys||, but thought i should mention anyways. I think it might be cool to have an option so it doesn't save, that way you gotta earn ||Oxyde|| intentionally on a run. Like, in my pack, i'd proly make it so the ||crashed ship|| has a higher chance to spawn on deadlier moons, the idea being you route there to try to unlock it intentionally, since it is very rewarding afterall
- Several times now, the ||Oxyde unlock item thingy|| is spawning under the ||crashed ship||. I believe this happens if it lands on the terrain at an awkward angle or something, i can probably get a clip of it soon
- The enemies at ||Oxyde||, namely the cactus giant love to swarm around the trash compactor, often getting stuck in it if they roll into it
- ||Shockwave drone assembly parts|| showup in LQ as a scrap, as well as ||Jar of 999||, but none of the other ||parts|| do? Yet they showup on Imperium. Are the others just variants of the first item, like how some scraps have different textures? In any case, i will try adding them to the Wooden crate list of items and see if they spawn
- ||I noticed the config for farming, but, what items actually let you destroy trees to get seeds now? Is the plant pot price no longer configurable? Are the seeds and the plant pot still a thing??||
- I think a solution to the driftwood chasing Cutieflies and Boom birds issue would be to make it so that within a certain range or something, the Driftwood prioritises the player over other enemies if it sees them maybe? I noticed attacking the driftwood causes it to switch priorities, but in general it does not
- I know this is something you generally don't do with traps, but i do really think it would make sense for the ||Crane|| to be able to squash enemies you bait under it. Its risky, It still doesnt target them, but being able to bait a dog or giant under it to squash it would be fun! Also adds some nuance to the whole "turn it off" thing. Like...sure that stops it being dangerous, but now you cant use it to kill enemies, i think that adds some interesting decision making.
*Note about the ||Crane||, this would also make it consistent with vanilla ||Spike Traps||, even in the sense that you need to be there to trigger it basically and its very risky

||that's good then, the actual code doesn't check whether oxyde exists or the tablet etc, it just checks if oxyde is hidden or not and despawns the ship immediately after it spawns if it needs to, so it'll still work with or without anything oxyde related||

- I havent seen it spawn under the ship yet ever since I fixed that internally in dev testing but I'll improve my code for this stuff and let you know, though its probably a mod on your end
- Compactor has a feature that attracts all enemies to the compactor once used, I'm gonna rewrite it so it doesn't break my enemies lol
- This might be because their ScriptableObject has the same name, although their unlockable name is different, I'll change it and you can let me know if it makes a difference
- Farming is temporarily gone until I can work out a better way to do it and still be fun.
- If it still targets cutieflies then something is wrong with your pack, but I'll check the boombirds
- I think the crane already damages enemies

not losing lll unlocked moons after being ejected is intentional i believe, i think there was a discussion about it and it was kept like that so wesley's progression would work

||so every 2.4 seconds an enemy spawns during the compactor sequence and makes that enemy path to the compactor, putting unshredded scrap changes the timer from 5 seconds of compacting to 30||

Okay so, i did some more testing
Literally the only thing i managed to kill with the crane was the ||Monarch||
It either isn't damaging all other enemies, or it deals like literally 1 damage to them or something, and even then that doenst add up because the ||Monarch|| has 10 hp according to LQ
Here, it doesnt seem to be working on the Giant or Dog
No damage noises coming from them etc.
The only times i hear it is when the giant touches the dog itself
First few hits on the ||Monarch|| didnt do anything, but then maybe the 3rd or 4th one killed it
And then Urchins, a Masked and Nemo all seem immune to it as well
So it seems like nothing dies to it except ||Monarchs|| for some reason, unless the hitbox for hitting enemies is extremely precise and weird about it
Also, could be a niche thing, but a "flattened body" is spawned everytime i am hit, even though i have godmode
Might be worth looking into, in case of other mods or perhaps things like Dice effects granting invincibility and such
Do those bodies even count as bodies when you bring them back to the ship? They seem to just be like regular scrap

And they persist in your ship when you leave the moon
