Ive been trying to keep things as "zeekers" as possible while doing this stuff. Scrapped a handful of good ideas just because they felt too detailed for what zeekers would make.
Still I feel like theres too much detail sometimes. Maybe its because my brain just REFUSES to make models with as shitty topology as zeekers' stuff

The cord is way overkill for what its worth and probably isnt what zeekers would make, but having it be a straight cord would just summon OCD into the room
Besides if it's a bit much we can always optimize or scale back. If the new inclusion is still too much then maybe some pruning would be in order .
You could make a lower poly untextured model of this with the cord removed and then back the higher texture version on which will give good detail and save performance. The cord though could probably just be a 2d texture with some height painting or something.

Most of this doesn't matter but there's this one section in lower Wacker that looks like a garage Bay which made me think, what if there was an in between prefab that connects the maintenance hallways to the storage area? It can even be coded so that the fire exit commonly spawns there so it's like a loading Bay for supplies to be brought into to the mall.

I think that it should connect the storage rooms to the parking area, not the parking area to the storage rooms
I honestly really tried to find a frame that didn't look smudged.

I think it would make sense for the parking area to connect at the end, the trucks go through there and to the garage area, where everythings then moved into the storage area.
In a realistic view that would make the most sense, but I think that the parking areas "entrance" to the outside world should be visible but not accessible, like rocks blocking it or something like that.

I feel like the moon would be weird anyway since theres not anything special to a mall, unless we made the moon urban (super difficult) or it would be a forest moon with a mall entrance into the interior (feels too basic)

Yes but I also think a silent hill esque design fits as well. At least I think there should be a near perma-fog that's a bit shorter than the ones in other moons but still allows you to actually see decently far still. Fog weather should probably also be common on this moon.

I mean a lot of stores have their own branding and style. If we make those tiles too similar to the rest of the mall I think that might actually backfire a little and make it too monotone.
The store tiles are probably the one thing that actively should stand out separate from the malls asthetics.

I'd say once you have the generation up and running, before you add those mechanics do a test run on small/medium/big moons with different min/Max scrap to see how much you'd need to add with those mechanics (you don't want to overdo either)

It ensures that interiors with different '1x' tile counts and room sizes are comparable in total size.
The Facility is 1x and the Mansion is 1.5x in Vanilla.

(the horizontal conveyor things they often have in airports)
that way the only time spent slogging around is in the stores or high up walkways

That might be worth looking into. As much as ik it doesn't have to be vanilla and I would not want the vision to be compromised it would suck if it couldn't be fully enjoyed at normal time scale or at smaller sizes.

Actually that's a nice layout. There should be a type that's grid like I think because malls are kinda like connected boxes but I really like this one.

What it should do is check if it can generate the dead end afterward
It does 100 passes every time to get it the best it can
It doesn't check if it has room to generate a dead end

Well yeah but maybe there can be a backroom in the stores where they will lead to the existing maintenance hallways.........eventually but it will take so long that you will need to move fast or you will still die like you were trapped. That way there's still a reason to run and it's still a deadly consequence without being completely doomed. Like if you try to keep all of your heavy scrap you will still NEVER make it out and be designed like that on purpose but if you're light and keep running maybe with tzp you'll potentially make it.....barely.

Well it has been a big tricky process for them I'd say but it's coming together nicely. Rn it's mostly ironing out kinks in the generation, modeling, and minor tweaking.

the problem is that the door cutouts you made in the hallway and the stair tiles are going in opposite directions, so the stairs can’t connect fully

During like all of the space game cabinets some got the idea from Ed Roth's work to make space age rounded cabinets.

It's more or less an example of what some rounded cabinets look like besides the barrel one.
Basically they're either curved with rounded edges & corners or they're more or less like a table style contained in a cylinder shell. That's what all rounded arcade cabinet boil down to.
