you cant generate a tile with a balcony above it like that because dungen will consider it to be in the tile bounds

I've been waiting WAITING for us to address lighting. We should put in both skylights and actual light fixtures both of which could act like their own tile or prop giving more variation to what you can experience.

Perhaps a clunky implementation, but I think that it could have the interior shift into a "nightlight" mode where the fake skylights turn dimmed blue, immediately after 5pm (which is when the icon next to the clock changes to a moon)

It's up to you guys on how you implement it, though I think it'd be cool to kind of complement the fact that you cant see the clock in the interior, if the transition period was short it would make for a really good "slap back to reality" mechanic like the 11pm warning, especially for people who are willy nilly with the time they spend in the interior

Well when you're not doing sports or school maybe try taking other things out whatever possible. Sometimes I just try to merge multiple smaller tasks into a single block if I think I'm physically capable of doing it just so I can get it out of the way for other things.
It's very surprising what a human being can do in about 10 to 30 minutes given enough motivation and ability.

The door border and any signs need to be propsets, but most of the store should be contained within this boundary just fine

I still think the old blue areas should still be present. This texturing is good but feels more like ballroom and theatre territory. Having both could be nice though I'm not sure how that would work without art direction problems without some of the corner pieces being like some kind of transition while each texture type is like its own zone kind of like how the cat Walk zones and storage zones are different in the facility interior.

Intersections need to exclusively connect to straight tiles, straight tiles can connect to intersections and other straight tiles.

I mean I've been thinking about trying to bring back the older version of the interior as a different variation. Going from lit modern blue to older dark movie theater looking halls would be AN EXPERIENCE. I really REALLY think it's a good idea that I hope we can explore later. It would also make sense because obviously you wouldn't want the whole place to be dark buuuuut you do need a dim area for a projector eh? Eh!? 😀

Plus for those modern lit areas we can throw in fluorescent lights that do the day cycle dimming and fake skylights with equally fake sky boxes like in the mansion for those big windows.

Afaik the dynamic ones have a limit of 8 per object

you can use a high amount of lights if you make it so they stop producing shadows at a long distance / dont have shadows at all
but it makes them sometimes have odd interactions at long distance
id reccomend just giving all your lights a short shadow render distance
I read the max amount of shadow casters is like 128
8 per object, but 128 overall
Let's try this
Make the spotlights not cast shadows ever (or make their cast range really tiny)
And I'll model a strip light we can put a few of in each tile for more broad lighting
Additionally we could make it so it's maybe not rendered if you're not looking at it. Like if none of the light or shadows are present on the screen it just stops existing in the background.
Doom does that though doom does it in a more complicated using binary space partitioning of all things.....which is really weird.
The alternative is that we could cheat at times using raster graphics and make fake light.
That way it only looks more lit without actually being lit.
I dont think unity has features like that, so we would have to make our own method

This is probably one of the most beautiful things I've seen in this game.
I'm not even being my usual overly-positive self I actually mean that. This literally looks so much better than what I was imagining in my head.
The best part is that it will only get better.
I guess the only thing I can think of is that the little square plates with wires coming out of them that go to the big square plate both could use some work but that's it I love everything else.
You could put something like these on the plates, I don't want to add to the 3D work though unless there's a way to make a 2d texture like it that would look good?

afaik interior spawns, as in what spawns and how many and such is dependant on the moon
unless you force-spawn stuff (like wesley in grand armory)
but that can mess with the moon's balance

my suggestion would be to play with Linux in a virtual machine and explore the system and if you'll like it or not
I've used Linux for like, uh probably over 4 years now, and I've barely used Windows during that time. I've only needed to boot into windows to play Phasmophobia since it's had performance issues on Linux (and recently joining lobbies was just completely broken), but other than that, I've been able to use Linux just fine.
I'm gonna say though that Linux is not perfect and I've had many issues, but they always get fixed, but new issues always pop up. But the trend is that it's been getting better overall.
This ofc depends a lot on the distro you choose. I've been on Fedora, and honestly I would not recommend it due to the instability. Personally I've been looking into https://projectbluefin.io/ and will switch when Fedora explodes on my machine

true, even though my laptop came with Windows 11, it had issues which I thought was only a Linux thing. Specifically the big issue was internet via cable exploding when looking at it wrong and having to go to the repair tool in Windows to fix it
also the virtual workspaces feature in Windows 11 is a fucking mess, it's so laggy and terrible it's insane how they made it so bad. And it has so much friction that booting to Windows 11 after GNOME (the desktop environment shipped by Fedora Workstation) feels like the OS is deliberately trying to make my life miserable
When I started using Linux, Nvidia was basically unusable on Wayland. Now I use exclusively Wayland on Nvidia because it's the only thing that actually works properly (mostly). The Linux experience has really improved a ton
