Hold down a button like T for a few seconds to make an installed teleporter on your ship activate on you. Since solo players don't have teammates, the teleporter is usually useless. The only mod I know that offers a solution is Lategame Upgrades and I don't really like the portable teleporter- it fills a precious slot and by default, breaks itself, keeps items and costs an extra 300 credits on top of the teleporter. I want to keep the LGU teleporter to its default settings and have a worse built-in teleport feature at no credit* (or space) cost.
*(may cost credits to use, but doesn't require investment)
Since teleporting yourself can be very helpful, I recommend a few cons to balance the mechanic out. A few ideas could be:
A kind of long wind up period before it starts teleporting you (having to hold the button the whole time, also makes it harder to bump the wrong button)
Taking nonlethal damage (20 hp unless you're already below that threshold)
Costing credits? Like 10% fine for using the Company Emergency Broadcast System to ping your ship computer (an interesting feature of the mod could be automatically teleporting your corpse at the end of the round or automatically getting you back on the ship if you're not there when it takes off)
NOT KEEPING YOUR ITEMS- preferable to dying in solo, but only just. You're only ever one death away from a full game over, but the fear of losing valuable quota items can make it worth at least trying to stay behind if you aren't 100% going to die.
