The only time you should lose them is if you delete the save
if dying isn't meant to reset it but making a new save is meant to reset it that's a very notable inconsistency with the rest of the game
from an earlier conversation i guess there's a bit of a bug somewhere, i guess with how difficult the journies are they should probably be saving inbetween runs

the built in lock and hidden saving is tied to save which imo is very consistent with the game
failing quota hard resets the save outside of a few select things and im pretty sure even those are inconsistent in a way that implies it may be bugged/unintentional
afaik failing quota should be equivilent to making a new save

failing quota should not mean a full save file wipe. Things like story logs and creature data should be kept across multiple runs. i consider route unlocks in the same vein as those where they should persist between runs on the same file. While i agree things like cruiser persistance is clearly a bug. keeping that terminal data is imo clearly intentional.

JLL does not interact with the save file in any way. It does not save or read any data to your file. it's just tools for mod creators.
LLL handles saving level hidden and locked states.
And the combined moon pack contains a small dll responsible for saving if you have unlocked the ending or not. and that's basically it.
Yeah that was my own fault, but thank you for clarifying that JLL doesn't touch save stuff. I wasn't sure if it did or not since the bulk of Wesley's Journeys is using JLL
I believe story logs, cruiser purchase and bestiary logs being saved is a thing that currently happens in the game. From memory though i've read reports that leaving and rejoining post-game over can reset those but due to the mix of these things being saved being more or less easter eggs and stuff like late company getting into the mix imo it's not 100% definitive on how much of it is intent, considering these are very select exceptions.
Putting aside that though Jacob, I think it's worth mentioning that we can say with certainty that anything mechanically unlockable in the base game is 100% reset on game over, correct? If Wesley's Mod wants to be the exception in this regard by all means but I just want to clarify this to ensure the saving LLL provides is inline with the base game and that this would be an exception and not an inherit flaw in LLL

While I can see the comparison between the fact route unlocks/knowledge could be more in the info pool with logs I think the fact that it's more mechanically progression tied and that the feature is up to author interpretation makes it closer to items and unlockables in this regard

In this specific usecase I honestly think the fact saves partially save stuff on wipe vs. starting a new lobby feels like a half measure when you could instead either tie it to the save in all contexts or tie it to the general save data instead

I agree but I think it feels inconsistent that it does retain on wipe. I'd guess a majority of players wouldn't even know there's a difference between letting the run fail vs. quickly making a new lobby
at the very least i feel more confident that LLL's current setup for saving it feels alright
i think what seperates the stuff that gets reset from the stuff that doesn't also has to do with how you obtain it. creature data and logs you obtain from scanning the creatures you find and exploring and finding the logs on moons. things like upgrades, furniture, and items, are all obtained from looting the facility and/or purchasing with the credits from selling that loot. moon unlocks fit more in that first category imo
like you don't purchase unlocking and unhiding a moon. you explore and do something to unlock and unhide it

It should be working on Wesley’s now I’d imagine. When the cruiser was added it changed the dropship so until moon makers updated their project to use the new dropship, there’d be issues. CompanyCruiserFix can be used to fix it though (even though it’s deprecated)

6/10 for progression, gets confusing, kinda feels all over the place, but the main stories that are required to finish the journey are essentially a straight shot, which is good ||(if you don’t count the half hour i spent tryna figure out how to get the tape for Hyx, or the more than half hour i spent trying to beat Empra without getting ganked by 50 coilheads and a jester the millisecond i find the bomb or apparatus)||

yo, i need help, when i and my friend land on any of wesley's moons(except galetry) for the 1st time everything is okay, but when we are landing 2nd time at the same run the map isn't loading and my game dropping my frames per second to frames per month lol (also, after restart 1st run goes, but second one does not)

It's still possible on Junic to clip through flowers when leaving and get hurt.

The issue can vary but generally yes, if the enemy is stuck somewhere with no navmesh to navigate they will just get stuck and spam the error
Well, they’re not on a navmesh which is the invisible blanket over everything they walk on, so they’re essentially stuck. If they’re killed, I imagine the danger stuff is handled properly (killing one frees up room for another to spawn) but idk

but yeah i'd honestly say #2's the best middle road
#1, if you have a lot of progress on smth and you fuck up, you're back to the start. Journeys is a good example of that, and how ass that would be if it worked like that
#3, while it sounds kinda nice, it would prevent anyone from starting all over if they want to.
#2 lets people save their progress while also allowing them to restart by simply deleting the save file (granted they don't muscle memory delete it on accident)

like i'm imagining some sort of moon protected by a shield that you disable by sending out some message in a secret interior or moon location which physicially allows you to travel there. that kind of progression feels more suitable to be wiped
imo it's less about it being knowledge based and more about how you obtain it. the things that you loose from getting fired, items, upgrades, and furniture are obtained through collecting loot from the facility or purchasing it from the loot you collected and sold. the stuff you keep is obtained through searching moons and discovering it. lore logs are hidden around moon surfaces. I don't imagine anyone making it so you purchase a moon unlock when you already can set it to pay to route there

Might be a tall ask but what kind of interiors fit each moon? When I set up a modpack for my friends to play on I usually limit a moon to have 1-2 interior types max, but I haven't found all available moons just yet.

It is almost perfect, there is so much love and passion behind this creative team, I could not imagine how much coding hell the developers put into this, especially that ENDING, what a way to finish this mod! (Also, is the big black tentacle cyclops a peeper?) And the lore and voice acting is magnificent! So many talented people! There are a few duds in the mix though, especially moons like Alcatraz and Utril just feeling a little boring, and that some moons are really hard to get, and that this mod doesn't feel "Vanilla", but other than those nitpicks, this mod is great!||

Both unique mechanics, but I get it, not the most interesting things. The real plain ones I've noticed are Hyve, FissionC (slightly raising waste pool), and Demetrica (aside from the one awesome trap). Though maybe I'm missing something about those.||

||Each different type of door has a jumpscare, the cell doors can have the "Morgue Mangler" appear in the window, the mansion doors can have a "Shadowman" appear in the center of the room they lead to, the morgue doors can have the Morgue Mangler appear inside them, said morgue doors also randomly start slamming loudly, the rat holes on the floor can sometimes have a giant rat crash through really quick and it makes a loud sound. And the lights break every so often and make a loud noise.||

there are two other tapes you can search for that can give you 2 other starting locations. from there you can find things on those moons to progress further

I'd recomend playing theough it once normally, then you'll know the moons and can configure them to work with your pack if you want

I can't unlock the routing to any of wesley's moons now though with LethalQuantities so I can't unlock them for my own modpack
and I can't enable the routing thru lethallevelloader because it then messes up with LethalQuantities settings

my only issue with this journey is that sadly alongside work and university studies, my group only has time to play one quota at best, sometimes not even a full quota
so going through the journey is not a viable option, but im sure its a banger

i mean it's a moon pack. it's not going to have a lot of incompatabilities if any. it's not going to be much less compatible than any other moon depending on JLL. Only thing special is we're using a lesser used feature that's existed in LLL for a long time
doing this will give you the old moons without progression yes. Only thing is none of the new moons offer standalone versions yet. so you won't get the casual doubling of your moon count
That's ok :D We can live without the new maps for now. I guess they'll eventually get released as standalone though? Because if yes, then I'll definitely add them to my pack as all of the wesley's maps have been amazing
i mean eventually yeah but i do recomend trying out journeys at some point because it's a pretty cool playthrough that we've been working on for a long time.

i think i have like 3 different programs installed on my computer that do things with unity bundles lmao maybe 4?
and there's honestly 0 reason for it

only bundle related thing i have is just my Editor stuff for making bundles better to build
unless each moon is separated on a different unity project, you HAVE to do something so you're not constantly rebuilding all bundles instead of changed ones, and it sucks unity by default forces you to build em all
i honestly don't mind doing that
i only have 1 project for my lethal company stuff and i have a lot of bundles for all my unreleased stuff that i have to build whenever i need to test something but i don't mind because i don't have to build it too often and it doesn't take a ridiculous amount of time
coderebirth has 40+ bundles i believe, if i kept rebuilding all of em constantly i'd be months behind 😭, thankfully the editor tool wasnt too hard to make, its code is just ugly as hell at worst
each feature is a separate bundle
if there's something someone turns off in the config, i just dont load the bundle

it does also make the bundle building process a lot easier since i only gotta build relataively small and/or changed bundles
