So I had this issue, too, and randomly out of nowhere. It's something to do with windows and .ogg files. Some library or codec changed and broke everything
It's lower than the aggro'd roar, though, at least on my end, which doesn't make sense

just finished testing a lot of stuff with some friends (MODPACK WORKS LETS GOOOOOOO) and got a better opinion on the sounds

forest sounds are MINT, but maybe a tad too loud. I liked it, felt like an actual forest (and those can be loud), but both my friends brought it up and i did feel like some parts of it were a tad too loud
ambiance sounds are all good honestly, minus two i dont like:
-The girl crying while the dog is growling at her;
-The one that ends in a guitar riff
the girl crying feels very out of place. The way the sound is put together right now makes it sound like the girl is in front of you (which she isn't) so instead of spooking you it just leaves you confused. even more because she cries for so damn long. contrary to the bracken ambiance (haven't heard it in game yet), it really doesn't feel like something that could mean you're in danger
the dog growling on top just makes it feel even more detached from the game
the guitar riff one starts out like a good stinger, but the second after you recognize it's just a guitar sound and it completely breaks immersion
in my head it's hella funny so it always pulls me away

make it quieter and add reverb, so it sounds like there's a girl crying somewhere
and take off the dog growl. just leave the quiet sobs
you'd be playing, then notice someone quietly crying under the sound of your footsteps. you stop, and you hear it. it's faint, maybe a room or two away? the other side of the wall? is that the ghost girl?
then it stops, and you're left wondering what the hell that was. are you actually being haunted? was it ambiance? should you stick around and find out?
interior ambiance works really well done like that, in my opinion
i figured out what happened since i just opened it. Windows does some kind of conversion on the OGG files when you open the folder, so that Media Player can play them without issues.
since it's on an external SSD, the read/writes probably aren't very good because of the cable, so that's why it lagged like hell and took millions of years. that or your CPU couldn't handle it
went to check the ambience sounds folder and they all went white before loading and being "normal"

Random2-17, the whispering is both too loud and too long. it could be one or the other (long and quiet or short and loud), but i think making it more quiet and a bit shorter would be best
got it today while we were on an intersection, and it was way too loud to be creepy, and then it just kept going. besides, it already gets louder to the end, so by the 15 second mark we were literally just standing around waiting for it to finish
it wasn't a "wait, do you hear that?" moment, it was a "bro who the fuck keeps PSPSPSPS'ING INTO MY EARS"

-thumper walking ambience, so you'd hear thumping for like 4 seconds and be gaslit into thinking a monster is gonna get you. same concept as the bracken ambience
-more crying noises. the one we have now is full on crying, i'd love to see some quiet sobs, sniffles and such

I run on a gen4 NVMe with a 12 core, 24 thread Ryzen 5900X CPU. It's a software issue with windows that I haven't bothered to track down. Didn't happen a week ago, and it happening to every .ogg file on my pc now

Feels like she just finished a sprint. i think if it started slow and then sped up it would make it much more panic-inducing

Not a huge deal, at least on this server. Its primarily for other servers which are easier to read (see: not in threads) . I tend to keep my discord as clear of messages as possible, and on servers where I have mention pings enabled it's really important that any mentions gets seen ASAP as I help people with tasks just below moderation. Sometimes someone will join and send out a thousand pinged replies or mentions and I have to drop what I'm doing to see some bullshit message like "👍" and it's quite irritating

New, official Sennheiser 6XX earpads are very stiff foam and velour, and over time the velour wears down smooth and the pads become compressed, moving the headphones closer to the head while also lessening the tension they provide, allowing for both more sound leakage and a clearer soundstage. Newer, thicker, or sheepskin/leather pads, or some combination of the above, provide a better seal, and when you consider Sennheiser's very precise construction can heavily alter how much spatial sound and/or bass you get. The older/thinner the pads, the higher your volume must be to achieve the same effect and the less bass you get, but the tradeoff is a vastly improves spatial soundscape
Tl;dr: old pads quiet and lack bass, but 360 sound go brrr

Something that sounds good is often the worst option for repetition. You want something unobtrusive and something you have to be thinking about to notice, but clean enough and loud enough to still be satisfying
i only like when i can hear my steps, so is good to have low sound and not too much intrusive noises

- Spider stepping sound can break (less frequent than before, but it still happens)
- Some ambient sounds can repeat frequently (MUCH less frequent than before)
- The Giant may make a dog sound when eating someone
- The sounds are not syncing between players

like it takes care of the backend because lcst is just C# code to change the sound files
well when you split the code between people it gets tough to avoid bugs

i mean i'm not a programmer but LCST is working basically like an API to allow you to change sounds

No, none of this is resonance since resonance doesn’t do any heavy lifting or have the ability to create errors in the log. If it was related it would be the mods required for LR to work such as custom sounds and lcsoundtools

Well bass just about doubled, not seeing a huge drop in spatial sound, but accuracy of spatial sound was definitely reduced. With a headphone tuned for bass, I could see some people having issues with it, but can confirm with a balanced headphone the bass feels just right, especially with Lethal Company reducing the bass by so much in game. Some might be a touch too much considering how many headphones are bass tuned, but these earpads got it juuust right for me and my sennies

I'm using VLC to do an audio check, as it is already matched to the sound of my games and is way quicker than booting the game up and hoping I get lucky with sounds
I was thinking of moving voices to insanity and replacing creaks that currently have voicelines
I'd be a very happy man, the group of friends I play with are quite annoyed by all the voicelines as they are quite common so its less spooky more aggravating

Though we were all experiencing audtorial issues that for some reason we all had sounds that should not be playing e.g candles playing thunder, signal translator making the wrong sounds, and record player playing explosion sounds

LCSoundtools is a forced dependacy, but it has been having some issues lately
the latest update has been A LOT better but there are still some issues
i mean i've been playing with it and nothing broke yet (besides wind yadayada)
I went as far to remove Lethal Resonance and use clementines custom "YourOwnSoundPack" and ripped the stable sounds that seemingly had no issues to there and just uninstalled the mod itself and it's been working fine so far
Maybe if our group plays tonight with LR I can get some samples of it happening for group show and tell

I just cant do it like vanilla, Sometimes when you make a sound "cleaner" " more realistic" is can take the "fun" out of it. Thats what I feel happened with the airhorn

Just noticed an issue I'm having where the sounds on the buttons for the door are inconsistent
I mean honestly volume normalization is a task that really requires a lot of play testing so I appreciate you bringing this to my attention!
Sometimes it'll play the default and sometimes it'll play the new/modded one
I also agree with spider, mainly deffo 100% the spider death audio - it's noticable louder than the hit sound.

Haven't heard the newest one, but the last update to touch them was immensely better
the newest one doubles their stomps
cause it always bothered us that you could only hear every other footstep
