As soon as you have Night Vision you are going in without any items in hand
But beware
Night visions are somewhat costly with 200 credits
losing them does hurt
i booted and the mask idle sound scared me
but after that, everything seems to be fine
My mod actually handles lobbys a bit better for solo or duo players
I only activate connected players + 1 player objects
So solo will only have 2 player objects active instead of 4
curious if I could get this to play nice with lethal expansion so I can keep the extra moons

I probably wont be able to do much compability work yet because I want to totally overhaul how I handle things with the library
Not only making more things possible with the library but being aware of other mods fiddling with variables

For example store items: I could analyze how the array looks like and what could potentially be other mods items

I havent had a lot of time to play the game since I started to develop the mod at the end of november

For me and my friends it was pretty clear from the get go that the game needs some roguelite stuff to be motivating
I abandoned the basic concept of roguelite (getting xp only when you fail) for a more direct xp system now :D

So I added items to fight some weather conditions. Lightning rod is too overpowered tho. But well

I'll try to make the lobby size thingie configurable. So you can deactivate it entirely and instead opt for probably buggy gameplay with other solutions.
And that MoreCompany works solo is something I do know :)

Thats why I invested time to create my own
I might add a low performance setting later so it will use only 4 audio channels like other solutions and just use AudioSource.pitch which doesnt sound as good as the pitch effect on the channels.

Now that I remember, talking a little about something that happened with the SkinWalker mod.
I remember that there are users who may experience lag if the Realtek audio system is used.
I don't remember if this problem has to do with the Audio Mixer, but who knows?

When you are the host, all player objects are activated when you start the game
The FPS you are getting is the FPS you will have when playing with 32 players
If a player would join your lobby, the FPS would rise again
As all objects besides you two and a free slot would get deactivated

def works along side lategame upgrades. Becomes so strong alongside it! Will do more testing to see the variables stacking.
It's helps that both have very extensive configs that allow to mix and match.
But I have to say that my mod is balanced only with my items in mind
And I feel like the current balancing is somewhat OK. The lightning rod could be more expensive

yeah thats the best part. Since the XP is thru players the money can be used to get the 'extra' upgrades if needed for a fuller late game play. I really like the extend quota feature tho. Its nice for that style of play!

Extended quotas also useful if your using one of those mods that randomize the company sell price through the three days, that way it's more viable to go to the company early if the company is selling good on the second day and you don't want to risk selling low on the last day

I feel like with this mod adding slots people really shouldn't need reserved slots but that's just my personal opinion. Removing the clothing feature would take away a huge unique feature in this mod I don't see elsewhere.
With 1.1.0 there will come the head lamp
And it will be quite affordable like 50 credits
This is basically the Pro Pro Flashlight and the head slot becomes the reserved slot :P

So probably 3-4 new items and the headline feature and some more small stuff
the reserved slots are for your shotgun and spraypaint

i combed the config and saw nothing to change the present inventory slots

No but setting map size to be that big is more of a fringe case.
the gameplay loop is very short in the small maps as present if you play alone.
it becomes less satisfying
like if clothing slots were functionally separate from inventory
i doubt there'd be a conflict
like using 'G' to dump clothes or whatever
which is more useful anyways if you are running and have weight on you

I get where you're coming from in that it's your personal preference but I think it's important that the baseline for mods should prioritize the standard experience which is balanced around 4 people. Configs can help those who play with less for sure but we shouldn't be the focus group.

You cant simply configure away mod incompabilities. As the configs needs to be synced with the server I already patched the player inventory and why should I be required to use a seperate custom inventory solution but not other mods?
for example reserved slots is an extension of regular inventory
where clothing cant be used in regular inventory
so that right there is a reason.
So because ReserverSlots exists any other mod shouldnt work with the inventory at all?

Uhh only thing from lethal things that I can think of that would maybe run into some issues is maybe the Utility Belt given the changes this mod makes adding the equipment slots
Lethal Things is only partially compatible. The utility belt for example doesn't work with this mod but I just disable that in the config since I don't need it with the extra slots this mod gives,etc...
So basically if you wanna use Lethal Things you gotta at least disable the utility belt in their config. If I run into anything else I'll post it in here.

what it is not compatible with is mikes tweaks, reserved slots, and possibly will throw up errors with lethal things not sure
I am not sure sadly. If you want to try make sure that all players have the config edited in Server/Lobby.cfg and set Activate to false
Or share your mod config by code with others and do it for them
I will attempt this and get back to you but currently we only have 4
so we won't prove much yet haha
If you just want to play with more than 4 players, I do have a working and tested solution for that integrated :D

I was actually unaware you had your own bigger lobby solution, I asked because I pretty much threw your mod into a modpack without touching anything atm
32 player is the max with my solution. And I strongly advise playing with more players anyway as the game doesnt seem to handle more very well.

I think the synching stuff for the library will be done like this:
LobbyData would be added like AdvancedLib.Lobby.AddDataHandler<LobbyData>();

Then its AdvancedLib.Lobby.GetDataHandler<LobbyData>().Ship.Levels["BatteryPack"] = 5;
And that is automatically synchronized with the server and all other players.
Most interesting this feature ist for AdvancedLib.Player tho

I think lethalthing's rocket launcher conflicts with rocket boots when trying to buy it but other than that I don't think we've ran into anything major that isn't just vanilla lethal jank

Synchronization will be frame dependent btw
If you change a value in a frame in Update it will get synchronized the next frame with all the stuff you have updated
in one neat package
This will however add a little delay. Maybe I will just wait for the end of the frame, dunno
But I really want to not send a message for every change.
Especially considering that I basically only send instructions to all other clients what to do with the object in case of the dictionary
I basically log all stuff you do with objects in a frame and send that information to the server for it to handle the synchronization with other clients
But the nice stuff is that you can just use the dictionary as you would do any ordinary dictionary :)

I am happy people find it fun to play with the mod. There went a lot of work into balancing it and make it fun. Most items worked differently in the past
We played with it and adjusted stuff to make it more fun
Nice to see that the work paid off
I do really recommend to only use some small mods with my mod tho. Like I said. I balanced the stuff to vanilla.
If you play with other mods I do recommend increasing the prices of stuff maybe or smth

My plan was to extend the game in a natural manner

I understand the amount of mods (69 actually), and it can be a lot, but knowing that most of them are just bug fixes, small additions that don't completely change the game, and keeping in mind that, despite everything, it has to be fair; I feel that with the current version, it is worth it

If you have any synchronized stuff in your mod every player will need to have the same mods. You dont even need to add any code for that. The library will detect your mod having synchronized data and then require everyone to have the same mod with the same version installed or will kick clients otherwise.
This is due to optimization of the synchronization which are benefical in that way anyway :P
Because if you sync stuff, you want everyone to have the same mod
It easier for me to sync like:
0 being the lobby object
1 being the field ShipData
2 being the field XP in ShipData and then sending a package:
0,1,2,value
It then knows to go to the lobby object, to ShipData and then to XP :D

yeah I figured as much but had in my modpack and went to see if it still conflicted
if you type "other" in the terminal the perks command shows up among the other tucked away vanilla options so it's already a thing

After extended hours of play the only "conflicts" are non-impactful visual glitches with toomanyemotes (the boots making feet invisibility, other gear being invisible) and the terminal sometimes requiring you to press enter before being able to type again if you closed out of the perk menu previously

You can disable the BiggerLobby of this mod In the config to make it kinda compatible with MoreCompany
also, balance-wise, i'm not sure that permanent local upgrades is very good idea, i can imagine there will be a lot of OP players running around in no time

I think it resets every time you're fired I believe. You can reset with QuickRestart mod, or play on a new save file I think. And you will get fired at some point.
You can respec and reset your xp
And the host can reset the XP of the ship
i understand, but i just don't want everyone to became OP between sessions, that can cause for my friends to get bored and abandon game faster 😦
i'd rather had player upgrades session-only as well
And (I think it's a future option) you can make that the players automatically reset the XP when joining your match

I have an Issue, I know it conflicted with LethalThings's Rocket Launcher, so I decided to delete all my save file and disable the launcher. It works when I joined a new lobby, but after I quit and rejoined again, all the items from AdvanceCompany are broken, everytime I type Rocket boots, lightning rods, etc. the terminal says "This action was not compatible with this object"
But, when I restart the game, it function like normal again

Do you have the hackpad item mod? That mod was causing the "This action was not compatible with this object" error for me and it went away when I removed that mod.

The mod is great, it goes well with many other mods, but now my main problem is with reserved item slot mods, if I could fix their compatibility with Advanced Company, I would add this mod to all modpacks.
I also suggest adding a change in the length of the day to the config, and health regeneration to the player’s perks.

I'm pretty sure there's a mod by renegades that gives walkie's a hotkey button and it can be remapped

The main convenience of the reserved slot is that it is designed specifically for a walkie-talkie and a flashlight and falls into the desired slot, this is very convenient

Regarding ReservedSlots: My mods philosophy and ReservedSlots one conflict which is the reason I am somewhat hesistant to invest a lot of effort to make them compatible. You wouldnt ever use the upcoming headset or headlamp when you have ReservedSlots. And using both would result in you having a total of 7 inventory slots and 5 equipment slots if I am not mistaken.

Hey with the head slot I think you should add an item that give you a fake mask in the back so coil head doesn't move. But it will make bracken permanently angered cause he though you are starin at him to balance it out.
