@azure wedge is something up with the configs? i set "should players with no light source be completely in the dark" to false and "how intense should full darkness be" to 0 and nothing is different when i am in the building in the dark

because i always False this is Crawler/Spider.
Whenever you hit a spider/crawler it applies a short slow debuff on them. 0 = no slow at all and 1 = 100% slow.

i have a suggestion. an option to make the bracken more likely to target employes who venture alone. a way to create an urge for your friends to stick together and explore the dungeon together rather than everyone going alone.
another suggestion would be changing ai of the coilheads. rather than entirely freezing when seen, reduce its movement by like 60% and require 2 employees to look at it to fully put it to stop. this would also incentivize players to stick together.
im just a huge fan of horror and i always feel like having players have to be near each other for maximum survivability creates a desperation feelign, and fear, for when you lose members to a entity, or when you get split up in a chase by a mob, due to knowing your less safe the less of you there are.

As interesting as this sounds on paper, it would completely become unplayable for people who occasionally play this solo. (such as myself)
I think one of the best parts of this game is that everything is technically doable even if you find yourself alone at some point which allows the game to encourage multiple playstyles and allow for more outcomes.
I'm pretty sure a mod was just released "rolling giant" that adds a coilhead variation that:
Multiple AI types for the Rolling Giant:
Coilhead = Coilhead AI
MoveWhenLooking = Move when player is looking at it
RandomlyMoveWhileLooking = Randomly move while the player is looking at it
LookingTooLongKeepsAgro = If the player looks at it for too long it doesn't stop chasing.
While this isn't exactly as you described I think it's more in line with what you want.
Plus it doesn't outright replace the default coilheads, but allows them to spawn alongside them.

I mostly play with 10+ players. After 1.1.1, all of us get a huge drop on FPS. We then rolled back to 1.0.8, we get a decent FPS. Just wondering if the new bracken update 'create' a lot of personal space that suck up lots of FPS.

hey! i just installed this and i dont think it works? we extracted then put it in the mods folder but none of the things applied to bracken and other entities, and our admin cldnt see any config for it. thanks!

Just wondering, when spectating others, sometimes it goes really dark, not sure if it is related to true darkness( which i set to 0.4) or its a bug from vanilla

Hey @azure wedge, for some reason newest version of the mod (with the new bracken personal space) cause footsteps and many other sounds to disappear completely when there's active bracken
we had hard time troubleshooting this bug, but seems like it's Diversity
which is a shame, it's amazing mod

(thunderstore mod manager uses overwolf (overwolf is bad) and is literally just a copy of r2modman, enough that it supports r2modman's modpack files)
Suggestion for the chase sequence: display a "RUN" text or play a sound effect to indicate players that they need to escape rather than just wait confused ;D

fwiw TMM is built on top of r2mm and supports files larger than 2gb and gets new games added before r2mm
Using TMM also helps fund TS hosting and development costs
The "Players with no light be in full darkness" effect is really weird, because on another persons screen they can see just fine and the facility lights are on, but the other player with no lights cant see anything. I think this effect is not very necessary lol

I'm not sure if this mod causes it, but sometimes the bracken will leave the facility and it'll cause my frames to drop to an unplayable amount, I have bracken escape in lethal escape so I don't think it's that

For some reason, the latest Diversity update completely floods my logs with Dissonance:Recording warnings and lags it to hell

Our configs were the exact same, only mods being BepInEx. MoreCompany, and Diversity; We tried without MoreCompany and it was unchanged

Was thinking, how about adding "eye adjustment" to the darkness effect? where if you go long enough without lighting, vision adjusts a small percent over time. And perhaps add small blinding if one stares at a light source over time

Lower FPS means less time for dissonance to process audio buffer
And loss of samples
Which causes the issues
So the FPS loss of Diversity is "the reason" of those issues
But technically Diversity isn't the real issue Dissonance and low FPS are the issue

Just saying dude, Having your console showing you logs while gaming is a huge help so if youre curious what issues you might be having, should probably use that
yeah but IF there are any issues the spam from the logs will lag the shit out of your game. The game itself without mods likes to spam the console and kill your game if you have one open

Having your console open doesnt affect how the game works, the console is just a closer look at whats happening in game

everything is logged regardless of whether you have the console open or not. the console is simply a visual display of what's being logged. log spam will lag your game whether the console is open or not
I had the same issue a bit ago and removing LethalEscape fixed it completely for me and my group. It's most likely a mod conflict because I haven't experienced it since removing it

I wasn't necessarily saying that like you did have LethalEscape I was giving an example of how I had it as well and it turned out so be a mod conflict, meaning there's a good chance it is in this case as well
You could load a new save with only Diversity and Gamemaster and spawn a bracken, that way you'd know for sure if it's a conflict or not

Ye, I did, so there would be less confusion on why ERB might not work for some people. Hopefully it will work after current fix release.
I tried working around it by doing postfix before or after Diversity does, but it keeps not working prob due to that NullReference that already fixed, but not released yet.

Also, I might suggest considering giving more details about some parts of config. Like for conditions it might be not obvious how arms and legs fracturing, what the exact difference between fractured and broken, what is the chance of triggering such conditions and etc. Some parts like Braken personal space might be obvious what it refer to, but for new players it might be confusing. Not saying that it must have, but some details and deeper description might have helped me figure out what is influencing what faster, than after testing it in game itself for some time.
Alternatively add page with that info about conditions to wiki like you did with Bracken Revamp.
I agree on the fact that a lot of people will probably not want the added difficulty like blindness and broken body parts and just not understand what the config means.

Hello, So my friends and I got a little problem with the "True Darkness " config, apparently only for the host is pitch black, The rest of the crew can see just fine.

theres a mod that limits how often you can scan, you could use that as an alternative solution
I don't think that's what they asked for. They want scanner to be useful in the dark by giving you some temporarily vision. I guess like outlining the edges or something?

What about an option that taking the apparatus instead of angering the bracken just spawns another one in the facility
So would make it more difficult and scarier without being insta death if you're too far from an entrance
Could even spawn somewhere between you and the main entrance 💀
Also prevents you from just grabbing the apparatus early in the day before the bracken spawns consequence free
Could even enable both configs at once, spawning and angering for extra hard mode
And a timer on his anger so if you run and survive long enough he calms down? Not sure how his ai works

Bug, cant move at all after update. After starting new save and waking up in the ship im able to look around and interact but cant move at all, I can even jump in place just not in any direction

So thumper killing you gives a very short timer and leaves you super injured after getting revived
Nice to have a way to revive stupid teammates who jumped off the ship before it landed and died to fall damage at the beginning of the day
And they can limp around the rest of the day as punishment
reviving people by bringing their bodies to the ship seems more balanced, and theres already a mod for it too!

I guess the problem is with advanced company or maybe any more players mod. AC seems to create player instances even when nobody has joined to use them and then diversity is trying to apply something to them (maybe new full darkness fix) and fails.

Just tested with HDlethalcompany and my resolution is being applied so I'm not sure why you're having issues with that.

It's possible. I also think I run less mods than you so perhaps it could even be a different mod incompatibility since I have no issues between HDlethalcompany and diversity atm.

Yeah definitely! I just tested and bracken rage when pulling out apparatus is still working... rip me xD. But even after enabling true darkness to test that wasn't working so I think the darkness might be the only thing breaking on my end at least.

That doesn't look like it's caused by a specific mod but the game itself. The error is not much to worry either way

can confirm. Incompatibility is between HDLethalCompany and FullDarkness. Disabling either resolves wrong render resolution and shifted HUD elements from scanner.

It seems Diversity Versions 1.1.5 and 1.1.6 cause players that arent the host to have lag issues, tanking FPS from 60-70fps down to 20-30. The host player has no FPS issues. we enabling all of our mods 1 by 1 until we narrowed it down to diversity. Downgrading to 1.1.4 seems to fix this issue for us.

When being hunted/chased from the ghost girl you're isolated off from your teammates from your pov alone. So your teammates will see and hear you scream as you run away. While to you, you have no idea where they are or what they're saying.

It was not removed. I still hear it. So if the bracken hasn't spawned yet when you take the apparatus or mess with the light switch. You won't hear the bracken's scream because there is no bracken
wish there was config for the volume of the scream as well as toggling it as a global sound
I can sympathize with the Bracken - if someone broke into my house and started fucking with the fuse panel there would be no volume slider for my bloodthirsty scream

Yes the lag only occurs when these two mods are combined on the last two versions of diversity
With either mod alone there is no lag
With Diversity 1.1.4 and Advanced Company 1.0.10 there are 7 errors in player 2's log file
With Diversity 1.1.6 and Advanced Company 1.0.10 there are 133 errors in player 2's log file

Is there a way to disable voice lines with dialogue? i don't have an issue with the voice acting, but i think hearing monsters talk clearly to the player makes things much less scary
how about ||an enemy that "teleports" every few seconds when chasing a player? so it turns invisible then reappears again as it closes its distance so it will be hard to juke the monster since you can't see it? the spawn rate will probably be as low as the masked on March or something||

If i may suggest a feature,
Since Radar Boosters basically act like another player, it’d be very useful if it could interact with the monsters like one. Specifically the Coilheads.
If the monitor is spectating a Radar Booster, it’ll stop any coilheads it can see, similar to a player. Only difference being that it can see in a full 360 degree circle around itself.

in testing I killed my friend while he had the screen effect active and its stuck on his screen after we reset on the next day
fps for me and friend also goes down to around 40 from 70 when the screen effect is happening. Also can confirm the isolation effect is stuck on my screen as host after ghost girl killed me
This can be very helpful in a variety of situations, however, do note that:
-
The monitor can only spectate one player/booster at a time, so if someone’s in danger, or a different radar booster needs to be monitored, the current one can’t always watch coilheads.
-
if the radar booster ever gets deactivated, it forces the monitor to spectate the next thing, meaning you can’t disable it if you want to keep the monitor on it.
-
i’m pretty sure the bracken hates light, meaning if this needs a nerf, the bracken could be able to sabotage the radar booster, either turning it off or breaking it entirely until you the ship takes off.
You can, but i’m pretty sure it’s only for like 1-3 seconds
His fps seems to tank harder than mine, he said average 15-16 fps, down from 90-100
that sounds dumb, the radar booster doesn't have eyes
The big orb on top that emits the light could effectively act like one
well i think the coil gets stunned for 3 seconds
so if you constantly flash its just removed from the game
From my experience i’m pretty sure the flash feature is limited in it’s amount of uses

Really? there’s been times where i used it a bunch on the same moon, and after a while it just stops working and states the “you don’t have enough money” dialog that appears when you go to buy something at the shop

that explains it (I am blind)
