Excited for next LGU update I have a lot of fun ideas. One I've been thinking of for a while is an upgrade to boombox called like sick beats or fire mixtape or something. Basically when the boombox is playing if you're within its radius you get a speed boost and damage boost or something.

But next update I want to introduce contracts.
Purchasable objectives that reward heavily.
So you'll type contract exterminator in the terminal and it charge you $1k or something and will pick a random free moon and say like "exterminate the hoarding bug nest on {moon}"
Then next time you visit a bunch of hoarding bugs will be immediately spawned and a hoarding bug nest object will be spawned somewhere in the dungeon and you have to destroy it. If you destroy it you get paid well.
That's gonna be my main focus
As a hunting horn main I'm looking forward to that

My idea for exterminator is destroying a nest while surviving many more enemies with altered behaviour than there normally are.
Scavenger extraction you have to find a player model in the dungeon and bring it back, it's heavy and makes noise, maybe more.
Data mining an old computer model spawns and you have to find it and play a minigame to get a valuable cd containing a resource survey of the planet.
I'm excited for them

another item I think would be fun to add but way too op is like the magic bag purse thing from harry potter that's gigantic on the inside.
You could just spawn a room way way below the dungeon when you start a moon and if you drop this bag purse thing on the ground and hold interact with it you can go inside it. Could escape a monster or put a bunch of loot in there and carry it back.
Such a fun little concept but such an awful unbalanced thing to implement

the long and short of it is it increases the overall night vision headset vision life before needing to recharge
starting initially its about 9 seconds you can use of nonstop night vision, and i think at highest tier defaulted its around 15 seconds

Ah I think it should. Hit detection in general seems kinda tricky. It's possible you just missed, nutcracker also has a pretty small hitbox of where it can actually take damage I believe
You have to hit the eye when it's in a certain mode I think. I can try test with some extra logs though.
Nutcracker hitbox is wonky in general. I've seen people try and fail to hit it right even in vanilla.
A crosshair mod might be a good choice to grab. I had to get one because i couldnt line up a smack on a spider to save my life

Doesn't sound normal but it's possible. I'm not sure what every single change was this update. You can use the forcecredits 1234 command to buy stuff back.

I have been testing some different mods lately and had to disable this one for that
If you created save slot 1 with mods x and y loaded,
Then loaded save slot 1 with only modsl y loaded,
all your items in slot 1 will now be shifted around because the allitemslist is different so the indices used to save items now point at different items.
Or the item will be missing and nasty errors will be thrown

I tried avoiding this problem by loading a different save slot where I had no items (or upgrades) from this mod
Yet somehow the mod items I previously had on a different save slot prior to disabling & switching between mods, still vanished despite the slot going unused

hey, i saw that the mode got updated to version 2.8.6 but what changed ?
last patch notes i see are from 2.8.3
yeah i get that but it still would be nice to be able to read what was fixed, me and my friends for example experienced "loot desync" one person would pick up an item but it wouldn't sync with everyone else and there would be a phantom item on the ground that can't be picked up for others after updating to 2.8.5, we played as a group of 6 with MoreCompany mod and we have no other mods interacting with items or equipment except lgu, was this bug reported and if it was, was it fixed ?
we also had phantom loot drops from hunter feature a lot as well, when we kill a monster it would drop 2 samples instead of 1 with 1 of them being a phantom item that can not be interacted with that stays on the ground and shows up on the radar

it's configurable. I think 175m by default. It's still chance based though. So the closer you are the more likely it is to reroutee

More Company is written in a way that in layman's terms says "hey, these super important bits of code other mods probably want to access just aren't going to be accessible"
So if you have more company installed the code that attatches onto the coil heads that checks for peepers just never runs.
apparently there's some issues with bigger lobby that can pop up but it should in general play nicer with other mods.

1 unit in unity is ~1 meter, lethal company is scaled up a bit though so 1 unit in lethal company should be like 0.75 meters.
if you buy the gps upgrade and then mark a position and walk x units in a direction, that's what x units feels like though. Or you can use unity explorer. Additionally I think the vanilla max scan range for the main entrance is like 100 units so that might give you an idea

so if you set that value to 0 you will take no fall damage
and it's only active on max level
By the way i had another encounter today and it does seem to be working propwrly, seems like you need to be looking to the bottom right ish of the eye so that the shovel head actually lands on the eye
I dont know how possible this would be but an incredible final upgrade for the scanner would be the ability to place your own node, even one per player would be a super powerful tool for wayfinding

I'm not sure whether it was already here before but maybe I'm just too stupid to find it.
I found that that couple of features like Stimpack and Hunter don't work after rejoining the session.
If (for example) hunter is maxed and bought in the same session it works perfectly but if we rejoin with host none of us can get the samples anymore, same goes with stimpack. I was able to easily have plenty of health (240 iirc) and shovel lowered my health by 20%. After refreshing the session I instantly got half-hp'd by the shovel
When you rejoined, did chat say that stimpack and/or hunter was active?
exterminator contracts were pretty easy to set up
Basically it's the same as other contracts where you purchase the contract, it says exterminator contract started on moon x, you go to moon x and a hoarder bug nest object spawns (same object from cleaning company mod) and ~20 angry hoarder bugs spawn on it
so the bugs are much more aggressive and there's many of them so protein powder and a strategic approach / way of dealing with them is recommend
and if you have hunter I guess you'll just make absolute bank
but you have to neutralize and destroy their nest (hold e on the nest object) to get the contract reward

Theres a high level of satisfaction running a team of shovel jockeys that will actively hunt down monsters for loot.
Maxed out mobility upgrades actually allowed me to chase down the bracken after he got my buddy

I will get it shortly, booting up, we have a few different mod codes we have been testing on, it's likely a conflict but I've been trying to debug, so we were disabling mods on discord a few night ago, it was kinda a convenient issue until the itemdrop desync hit then it got me wondering if that was a failsafe as I hadnt seen that mentioned previously, sure enough.
yeah thanks for letting us know and more information would be appreciated (including logoutput.log files) best case scenario it's an easy fix to get compatibility between them.

By the way, all things considered it is a GREAT mod, the tp fallback led to some super funny moments and some accidental deaths too

So me friends and I started a game. We upgraded "Hunter" and it worked. But later, a friend joined us and he bought the "Hunter" thing. After this, the effect "Hunter" did not work. We killed monsters but nothing dropped.
I don't know if it's clear and if it's a known "bug".
Is there a way to sollve this problem without starting a new game ? And what is the problem so we will not do it again
the player who joins late, and doesn't have the "hunter is active" in the chat should have written "load lgu <your_name>" (typing his own nickname) to synchronize with host, but idk if it is possible to fix your state right now
we did this but our friend buy hunter alone before this

The item desync was a more recent thing only in the last few nights for my Lil friend group, I think it got fixed in the latest releases but haven't had much time to mess around today so far

My guess is that when your friend bought hunter, yours got incremented to 4 and since there's nothing in 4, nothing spawns.
In fact, it should bring an error in the console saying there isn't a key for '4'. 
I got a few bugs-
1- Me and some friends got Back Muscles, Bigger Lungs and a few others, and when we play again the upgrades were gone
2 - We bought Malware Broadcaster, and then shortly after the upgrade wasn't working (turrets weren't being destroyed), yet it said we had bought it on my end

Yeah I've been putting more thought lately into redesigning the UX to be more intuitive, still get ~1/3 users saying how do I buy the upgrades, why can't I see them in store, etc, no matter what I do. Think I'm gonna remove the once per update intro screen and introduce a save file based tip system. Been thinking about displaying active upgrades in ways other than the store too and that sounds the best so far.

I found it fairly intuitive, but I am also familiar with a CLI to begin with, I think it and lethal is exposing a whole generation on how to use a CLI instead of a GUI, the save file tip system is a great idea, and the active upgrades could be displayed in a menu similar to lethal progressions' skills menu perhaps?
How do I remove upgrade tiers from Better Scanner?
Did you perhaps try a new save? I found that sometimes re-using an existing save can cause a lot of issues when using mods.

Howdy. I just joined the discord to report this issue or see if there was some fix for it.
I am finding that lg upgrades I have purchased aren't saving. I tested this with the following method:
- I am using r2modman
- I created a new mod profile
- I loaded only 5 mods
-BepInExPack
-HookGenPatcher
-Lategame_Upgrades
-LethalExpansion
-LethalLib - I configured LethalExpansion to give me 1000 starting credits. I left everything else at default in that mod.
- I started a LAN game with only myself on a new save file.
- I purchased strong legs and verified lgu on the console said it was at level 1.
- I landed on experimentation and took off again to save the game
- I exited to the menu and relaunched the save
- I checked lgu on the console and strong legs was no longer purchased and it would require me to purchase level 1 again.
- I removed the LethalExpansion mod and repeated the same experiment with the same save. Same results.
If you need me to take logs or something, I can give that a whirl.

Small update.
I was wondering if the issue has to do with playing a LAN game. Looks like it does.
I performed the same experiment while playing in the Online mode, friends-only. I still did not have Strong Legs when I opened the save from my LAN experiment, but I did after re-purchasing, saving, closing and reopening the save.
I hope this helps narrow it down.

LGU uses your steam id to save. If you play on lan you have no steam id. A solution for lan saving is on the list but not really priority for myself at the moment.

I was having a similar issue with Lategame Upgrades and betterteleporter. Only reason why I'm hard set on using it is because it's the only mod that works with InverseTeleporterToPlayer. I was able to find success with MoreShipUpgrades.UpgradeComponents.[Name] replacing [Name] with TPButtonScript

You have load lgu <playerName> for the person that wants the upgrades.
playerName has to be a player with said upgrades.
i did that with my name since I have the upgrades and my friend still doesn't have the upgrades, we're testing back muscles to see if his weight drops

I have a suggestion for the Night Vision Goggles.
When you purchase it, there's also a 'hanger' (like a Coat Hanger, but for goggles) that gets placed onto the ship. You can interact with it to remove your Night Vision Goggles (so you can share it with other players). Just seems odd that you can't remove Night Vision Goggles after putting them on.

useful with the second upgrade of better scanner where you get coordinates of exits, hives, etc
does the strong legs perk randomly stop working for anyone else? like it will work on one moon, then not work on the next
You got strange objects installed? It resets your speed and everything when you go into orbit. So running shoes dont work well with strange objects too

Deleting LGU files doesn't work as far as I am aware.
So you might end up with upgrades from previous saves.
There's always reset lgu in the terminal if that happens though.
The other issue with Better Saves is that it can reshuffle the saves as soon as you go past 9 saves.
Corrupted or lost shouldn't happen as far as I know.
Because they just rename the files so if anything the worst case it can happen is a file going to the wrong save.

Apparently the item, when you remove from the PlaceableObjects, it's still a child of the wheelbarrow.
So it doesn't let you put it back in if it's the last item before being full.

Our night vision is just like any upgrade so you should be able to turn it off.
Plus it's not as pretty as the Advanced one.
It's just a light while Advanced makes it more technical.
Because the idea of ours is to not replace flashlight really because it has a cone of light instead of circular and I would rather see further than see around me.

While each tier has a list of monster names.
The problem was that this list could have spaces (as it's normal to do after a comma) and we didn't trim to remove that space.
So when we were comparing names, we were comparing " centipede" with "centipede" which is not the same.
Obviously, you have to change the upgrade prices when you change the tiers.

i just had a silly idea for the scrap wheelbarrow
since the trello also suggests something like a shopping cart, what if there was a small chance of finding a shopping cart on the moon that could be used like the scrap wheelbarrow
perhaps with a lessened weight reduction for scrap because its a rusty old shopping cart and not an actual wheelbarrow
(im mostly just laying work on for myself here since ive already modelled a wheelbarrow but. cruddy old shopping cart with that one wheel that just spins in circles and doesnt actually do anything would be so perfect for lethal company)

The best strat I've found is to open the game with unity explorer installed. Object searched for whatever object, click on its mesh renderer and look at the name of the mesh. I think the suffix will still be wrong but narrows down the results a lot. Materials are named quite well.
I assume the original assets are organized via folders so the fact all the models are called cube or sphere or whatever doesn't matter but asset ripper just dumps them all together lol. Materials are pretty good tho

when setting up the prefab I copied and pasted in the wrong place so the internal prefab id must have been the same disallowing it to be added to ddol among other things. Just created a new one and it's good.

just realised something while playing, the samples from hunter with all the moving bits inside are super cool! but also having more than 5 or so samples on the ship is causing huuuuge frame drops i can only assume are from all those little animated particles in there. is it possible to have some sort of either separate world model without the animations, or a lod model that isnt animated?
i thought i was safe just keeping bracken samples since being solid black, i didnt think they were animated, but...
I'll just remove the particle effects all together. It's weird though they're really quite tame
my whole ship of garbage: 26fps, which is bad but thats a LOT of crap
and then my bracken wall, and nothing else: 16fps

so something about them is causing the game to struggle
