What issues are there with LC Better Saves exactly? Seems like it's working for me
allegedly on each save when reloading all items are gone, i dont run better saves so i never ocnfirmed it but it kept coming up with multiple reports
is anyone elses lgu upgrades getting removed after going into orbit? (specifically talking about running shoes and back muscles), leaving and restarting the save brings them back but after going into orbit again they just go away

this is one of the best LC mods ever, and i still get to barely use it because game hard lol
is it me or does lan mode don't save your upgrade.
lan mode saves it but you can't load it. The mod uses steam IDs to save upgrades. If you play on lan you odn't have a steam id
you can use forcecredits 123 to buy back your upgrades but if you're able to play online and just alone do that.
I might add support for lan in the future but only like <0.1% of players play on lan

Yeah I could probably upload it today I just wanted to make some changes and additions to other things before uploading
I could even just send the DLL and assetbundle when I boot up my PC if you want to try it out. Should be stable. It took under an hour to implement honestly, animating and setting up the samples they drop took longer lol
hm, perhaps there could be a command to quickly upgrade an upgrade to a certain level. like "beekeeper 4" to instantly upgrade beekeeper to level 4

hey so, every time i reopen my save file it seems like the upgrades are active but don't actually do anything. It works perfectly fine the first time buy it but once i rehost they stop working, how do i fix this?

when you say it seems like they're active what do you mean. When you type lgu in the store it says unlocked/lvl x ? you see the chat message that says "<upgrade> is now active!" in chat?

@indigo prawn one thing i do notice (happened before i used your new files too) is that my pro flashlights are disappearing on the ship when i exit out and reload the save
went from 6 to 2 to 0
I'll try recreate that. Are you playing with many other mods? Mine doesn't touch saving and loading. If you're placing them on the storage cabinet shelving unit thing then they could have just fell off it onto the floor, move the cabinet and you should see a bunch. That one is a vanilla bug.

Hey! The upgrades you purchase (like Protein Powder) only affect the player who purchases them, right? Since my friend bought it for him and he does more damage by hitting me than I do
There's two spots for sharing upgrades in the config.
First is sharing all upgrades in the Misc section.
If true, all upgrades are shared to everyone.
If false, then we check on each upgrade's config if it's shared or not.
All upgrades have "Individual Purchase = true", so in theory it only affects the person who purchases it, but then in [Misc] it appears "Convert all upgrades to be shared = true".
Since my friend deals more damage than me, I understand that [Misc] is not working, right?
No I think that should be working. It's possible your lobby / players instantiated incorrectly and some netcode is broken, in which case a game restart or maybe even just lobby restart should fix it. This is more likely to occur the more mods you have and complex aggressive mods like more company and bigger lobby are especially prone to creating issues like this.
If you and your friend send your logoutput.log file (it's in your bepinex folder) I can see if there's anything glaring though.
suggestion: it feels like it's hard to afford going to tier 3's when you want to be going for upgrades, so maybe something like a membership pass you can buy for the individual tier 3's that gives you free access to them?
yeah it's definetly a balance. when my crew played we'd usually save enough credits to go to dine and spend anything above that on upgrades.
I've thought about items like that though. So far I think my favourite is ~rare scrap that you can pick up and left click and it will allow you to travel to the respective planet for free one time.
So you would fine like a rend ticket or something then pick it up and use it and rend would be 0 in the shop for one trip.

Yeah I can't remember what state it was left in but I tried a ton of things altering items that were already injected into the vanilla store when a new cfg is received, changing prices and removing. Couldn't get anything to work though so left it.

i like an idea where the scrap item would on use let the player enter a command into the terminal to use it, and would send one to a random t3 planet with random weather

Alright, I just checked that I THINK we both have the additional damage applied, since when I hit him with the shovel in the legs, I leave him at 15 health (I take away 85 life points, which in the vanilla game I think I don't you do so much damage), but he kills me with one hit with the shovel. Why does he have more damage?
I'm excited to add more features that introduce tasks / more content. I think one of the next things I'll implement is extraction missions.
It will cost ~1000 or something to get extraction info, basically it will say 'x is somewhere in the Rend facility, you will be rewarded y credits for safely extracting him from the site' or something.
Then you can fly to rend or whatever planet and somewhere inside the facility will be a model of a human or peter griffin or some shit and it will weigh a lot and probably make a lot of noise or have some circumstance around it
Like that'd be neat if you had to extract bender from futurama and he spawns hoarding bugs around him or spawns in a hoarding bug nest because he's metal

Supposedly now, BetterSaves 1.6.0 is now compatible with LGU.
so, we've been having trouble with upgrades not saving across games. we have share all upgrades on. and every time we leave game and join the same save, none of us have the upgrades anymore

The host can do it with their own name. If you are doing individual upgrades you can do it with your own name.
Not sure it will work but a similiar scenario occured with someone and this worked.
So in their circumstance the save file was intact but for some reason not loading. If they manually loaded like that it worked.

LC API is raising an unhandled rpc exception every time a client joins. Possible it's causing the whole path to return before it gets to my mods loading stuff. Idk for sure but that's the only smoking gun I see atm.

so, we did a few, beekeeper, malware, and better scanner
and i don't recall the others, but i know for sure beekeepers showed up for everybody in the chat box
but when we reloaded the save, nobody had beekeeper anymore for example
right ok. Yeah besides all the exceptions and cursed stuff things look alright. My objs are getting migrated to ddol and everything. I guess this is a wake up call to make the loading process more verbose

@indigo prawn Hey, discombobulator doesn't seem to be working. Bought the item but when I try using initattack it says "You don't have access to this command yet. Purchase the "Discombobulator". Just updated and now it seems like the purchase reversed.

@indigo prawn I purchased it. When we first purchased it, it showed it has been purchased and that it was level 1. We noticed that there was a new update for LGU so just updated and now the item once again doesn't show as being bought. I'll buy it again when I get the money and let you know if it works now.

Popping in here to ask for some clarification regarding the FAQ on the GitHub & the config file. Running 2.7.1 (have not updated to 2.8 as it seems it was released really recently). The FAQ states that "the Shared Upgrades config setting set to true" but I do not see an option in the config except for on each upgrade, which is states that "If true: upgrade will apply only to the client that purchased it". What I am looking for is some clarification in general. I want everyone on my ship to get the upgrade when bought.
It's in the misc section. Don't touch anything it's set to shared by default.

i do have some things disabled but to point some out, all of the news ones such as hunter arent there, and things like the lightning rod arent either
even though I havent changed this config since the update 2.8, and in 2.7.1 the lightning rod worked fine
If I roll back LGU to 2.7.1 the things that're missing come back

It's just a matter of having a gigantic mod and limited testing. The last time I tested tweaking the config settings a bunch and enable disable was ages ago. We just uprooted and changed this entire system and it looks like specifically night vision isn't happy with this case.
You can't really have a staging environment with this stuff so everything is just cowboy'd live.

it's in your config if you have an older config upgrades are individual by default. If it's newer (>2.6.0?) they should be shared by default

so if that's true all upgrades will be shared. otherwise it will use the individual settings

i think this mod conflicts with firearms license; buying shells gives shotguns instead. it only happened after the update (2.8/2.8.1) so i assume it might be something with item ids

if you have a more recent config then it should default to shared upgrades, meaning everyone gets it
otherwise it will be defaulted to individual which you can change in your config

What is that?
Player's health.
In other words.
Whenever you take damage, its value cannot go out of the range of 0 to 100.
So if you have something that can heal and something that increases your max health.
Well, good luck managing that.

I have 2 mods besides lategame that does anything to health. One levels up the regen of health (lethal progression) the other makes gravity 0 when jumping from tall heights. So not understanding the issue you speak of
Regen is already vanilla thing.
Gravity is basically don't damage when high heights.
In other words, they don't call DamagePlayer.
I enjoy the aspect of lethal progression made by stoneman that gives you points to put into skills

Sorry for still being a little confused. Would reverting to 2.8 possibly fix my issue instead of using r2's update to 2.8.1 or should I ultimately revert back to 2.7.1 without all the new additions and wait for the fix
2.8.1 was a hotfix for some issues, such as the infinite gift box, lightning RPC stuff
Whichever version caused your issues it would be whichever before that
Since I'm unaware of what version worked for you, I can't properly give a great recommendation but probably 2.7.1
Copy that, Ill attempt the 2.8.0 and see how well that goes since the 2.8.1 is giving me issues and if all else fails. 2.7.1 until new fix. Thanks for your help guys

Ok, I should have a fix for the medkit not removing critical status and stimpack being basically "take a hit for free, regardless of additional health, because it will go back to 100".

So, quick side note related to BetterSaves.
Due to how they get the files, the order the files come through are not the same as when they were first created.
So you end up with reshuffling saves as soon as you reach 10 saves.

It seems like an easy way for anyone somehow with more than those 9 saves to have one hell of a mixup
It's because they just do a foreach on ES3.GetFiles
Then they use a index (that's not influenced by the list of files) and uses that index to go through the lists.
Instead of just picking up the number from the file name but ok. 
And you're just basically playing Whack-a-Mole trying to find the right save.
Because it reshuffles again when you exit the wrong save.

This should give the same upgrades to the person who put the command.

another possible change is remove the clamping, or simply making a Max function instead

You can change the settings in the config file. I personally changed all the upgrades to apply across all the players and made them cost a little more. I disliked how we'd buy an upgrade an only one person would have fun with it

delete the previous config (make a backup so you know what settings you liked) and redownload the mod
you can find the config files in the maingamefolder>BepInEx>config folders
default value is for all upgrades to be shared. So if your config is newer than Version I think 2.6.0 that should be the case

meant to be kept. won't work if on lan. sometimes issues can arise or other mods can interuppt / cancel the process. If you're losing them and losing credits just use forcecredits 123 to buy them back

it might be useful to know that EmployeeAssignments spawn monsters at the start of the game and outside of the monster spawning algorythm. If you get a mission for a crawler then the crawler is spawned shortly after if not instantly

The problem with health is that there's only one variable for it and it's the current one.

ok well i found out its cause of strange objects resetting ur movement speed to default when u go into orbit as a way of removing some debuff

Strange objects has been bugged with the movement speed thing for awhile now
just updated the mod to the latest version from my previous version, and not all upgrades show up in the store anymore. were they moved to a different menu?
i tested this on a fresh modpack with only this mod and its dependancies installed, and was having the same issue
things like lightning rod, discombobulator, etc dont show up

Yeah they're all pretty detailed
Like if you type info nv headset batteries it will tell you the time in seconds it takes to drain the battery and Regen it for every level and adapts to how many levels you set in the config and values and all that

Hey, was wondering if a config for hunter with monster names and loot drops from them could be possible? I'm using a neco arc mod alongside lategame upgrades and that mod changes hoarding bug's name as well so it prevents it from dropping stuff
I made a change so that it checks the type associated with the enemy rather than checking the scanner node's name.
It should allow mods that change the scanner node's names to work as intended (when it gets merged, of course
)

And then he stops responding on the walkie, I tp him, and it said he died to a mine lmao (because the turret exploded and I didn't know)

variation could be you can transmit as long as you want, but it causes an out-age on the ship, disallowing the use of terminal and/or cams.
