Does each player have to buy an upgrade separately?
the host can choose which upgrades are individual and which are shared with everybody
IMO, making these upgrades individual since they make sense: NVG, running shoes, locksmith, beekeeper suit, strong legs, pager
strong legs cause some players dont enjoy the increase jump height since they'r more used to default :v
More Emotes, I believe, is having problems with running shoes. It seems to be overwriting the upgrades.
This probably happens as a result of granting mobility to certain emotes in the More Emotes mod

Yes, they had to remove the half movement speed from the griddy emote to get it compatible. It's in the changelog as a temporary sort of fix. I imagine the More Emotes dev will sort out having reduced speed griddy without messing with compatibility.

yes but you'd have to edit your save file at C:\Users\<REPLACE_THIS_WITH_YOUR_USERNAME>\AppData\LocalLow\ZeekerssRBLX\Lethal Company
it's the LGU_x.json files. Just change true to false for the upgrades you don't want.

Each of you could also do reset lgu to completely wipe your upgrades then use forcecredits 123 to buy back the state you were at minus running shoes.

Some upgrades are better off left on true for the sake of logic and player preference.

The individual upgrades are meant to be so players can specialize and branch out, but yeah if you want the legacy version just switch them in the config. It's also usually a good idea to read patch notes if something unexpected is happening.
When my crew played and everyone got the upgrades we felt like we all became very powerful very fast and it kind of dulled things. When we played with individual upgrades it felt really cool and like we depended on eachother more.

no, we changed the config, then the host purchased another tier of the upgrades, which unlocked it for everyone. Then we exited the map, saved and quit due to the new masked boys causing a bug, and when we reloaded we did not have them

Nah, we have a distinct reason and logic for everything put in and why things are the way they are, id have said how clearly it was and is not our problem if someone does not check thunderstore where a changelog is very clearly posted with options and things changed

yeah we don't do that second step, especially when this particular mod updates all the time, and largely seems to be little fixes and adjustments

they should be able to yes, if they arent the new joiner can type 'load lgu' and it should apply

Yeah no load lgu won't save you there. You can get their client to forcecredits 123 and buy the upgrade.
The option to disable individual upgrades was thrown in last minute so I didn't think about edge cases like that but I'll build a command for syncing with the host / other clients.

Maybe, I moved away from keywords because as more mods are growing and coming out and stepping on common ground I've been thinking about how to make mine safer and ditching keywords was one of the first priorities.
Keywords can very easily overpower eachother. for example there's a mod where you type 'light' or 'lights' to turn on the ship lights or something. If my mod was patched first and used keywords, every time you typed light or light's or ligh or whatever you would try purchase light footed because it matches the pattern and was registered first. If the light mod was patched first it would be the other way around. Even if you typed 'light footed' it would fire the 'light' keyword.
I think at the moment I'd rather create shortform versions of all names. so beekeepers would be bee or bk or bkpr or something and if you do info <upgrade> you can see the shortform.

it looks at coil heads for you so you don't end up being the guy stuck afk staring at a coil head for 10 minutes while your friends get loot

your friends must also have the same configs

if you use thunderstore, you can export the profile as a code or file and send everything over in one shot
that ensures everyone has everything

after extensive trial and error with walls of mod-code sending with a willing friend, ive concluded that it didnt compete with any mods after a extensive process of disabling and reenabling every mod, in one test i disabled everything besides LGU and came up with the same problem.
only solution was to create a new profile. I redownloaded the exact same mods and the exact same configs (without disabling individual upgrade sharing) and everything worked as intended.
i wanted to figure out if it was just the individual upgrade config so i disabled it and sure enough- friends were unable to join but the most frustrating part was that after reverting back to individual upgrade sharing- it still wasnt working so it mustve changed some root setting or something that i cant redeem on my own.
error codes are null and no other info is provided.
TL:DR
make a new profile-> do not disable individual sharing. this is the code to my modlist, not sure of codes last forever but here.

someone just made a mod to see which mods failed to work (CompatibilityChecker) when joining so ill use that with a friend later tonight just to make sure if its a problem with other mods

yeah i would send an invite and if i rememebr correctly- a popup appears saying "an error occured" and the logs dont help either
we expanded further and tried to reinstall and verify files of base game* just to be sure
honestly i dont wanna waste your time since it looks like i might me the only one with the problem plus the mod works as long as i dont touch the individual/sharing settings so my solution is simply to tell my friends to change the pricing of stuff in the shop
when the game just says "an error occured" that usually means either mod mismatch of version mismatch

did you try installing just lgu with the config change? could possibly be a clash between the config and another mod you've got installed

there is a intro screen at the start of every game that players have to go through. it gives them the basic commands like "lategame store" and "lgu"
if they still fail to do that then its on em at that point

configs synced, i only use thundermod code export everytime i switch things around (referring to the earlier message; when we change the pricings in the shop we all make sure to have it as the same exact configs)

current version of night vision goggles doesn't work. I put them on and I activate the goggles and it only works for like 0.1 seconds and then immediately turns off.
Setting the individual purchases to false does not in fact make the upgrades work for everyone, it still only works for one person, like the night vision goggles still spawns as an item that only one person can equip and use. Getting locksmith, bigger lungs, and running shoes is the same (that we've tried)
The other person who said that about nv had an incompatibility. I think it was game master or a night vision mod. Did everyone set the individual purchases to false or did one person?

if you're not using it I'd remove it if you want night vision to work. If everyone truly does have the same config and upgrades aren't being shared it's possible your lobby got instantiated incorrectly if you're using bigger lobby or morecompany and the netcode is broken, restarting should fix it some people have said. Same reason sometimes with these mods players are invisible and other funny business.

yeah this is a known issue on v40 ๐ either upgrade to v45 (newest version of lethal company) or downgrade my mod to v2.1.0 (last version built with v40)
but afaik pretty much every mod is compatible with v45 now

- a friend has a cracked version so he cant update xd
mods only usable in older versions are few and far between
Pirated games are not supported here. Highly reccomend your friend gets the game legit or you will continue to have issues with mods with not much support for it.

Hey, not sure if this was intended behavior, but why are the forcecredits and synccredits commands (especially synccredits) not surrounded with an if(IsHost)?
Thankfully I don't have any friends that cheat, but I don't think it's a good idea to just leave those commands there for anyone to run.
Now don't get me wrong - someone can easily just install a cheat mod that does the exact same, but that doesn't really mean a cheat command should be in the open for anyone in a mod that doesn't intend to be a cheat. It's the same reason why Zeekerss removed those commands or made them inaccessible for other players.
Just a suggestion though, if you want to keep it as is, that's fine :)
I thought about removing them or creating safety around them but it's kind of redundant to do so. The most common use case is upgrades need to be recovered or matched or wiped and changed and it's very handy. The reason it's able to be called from anyone is because if bigger lobby or more company breaks a client or clients from receiving certain rpcs they can use forcecredits to match the credits they should have.
It's already extremely easy to cheat in this game, everything is extremely exposed. Also it doesn't seem like many people play this mod with randoms in public lobbies. The extensive config alone is pretty problematic for that. So I figured if you're playing with your friends and they're abusing this and ruining your fun, it's not really a mod problem as much as it is a who you hang out with problem and I can't mod a better friend group into someones life.
But yeah idk, it does stay on my mind. I might remove it in the future but there's been all sorts of scenarios where it's way easier to tell someone to type forcecredits 123 than to coach them through modifying their save file.

Is Locksmith upgrade currently working or am I having a misunderstanding? After playing with a team of four and running through facilities, I've tried utilising the upgrade by running into locked doors to no avail.
Is there a requirement to have the actual Lockpicker in your inventory as you do so, or is there an incompatability with DoorFix?

Mmm I can check the code for doorfix, I'm not familiar with it. As long as it doesn't fuck with the triggerinteract component it should be fine though. Just to make sure, you see the red text in your chat box that says something like 'locksmith is now active' right
Yeah, managed to get that in chat and everyone acknowledged it. Was just wondering about DoorFix as a potential incompat since changing hitboxes might mess with interaction and such.

looks like it. You'd think it would still collide though. Unless x is door width and it's now too small to be entered by a body when closed. I could look at implementing a different way of initiating the lockpicking game but it's not a huge priority at this moment, thanks for letting me konw about this.
Not a bug/incompatability but I realised when customizing config and testing that Night Vision stays between runs when LostOnDeath is false.
Also, would be interesting to see a config available for upgrading NV brightness and/or possibly range, currently set it to a neat crimson red hexacode at a lowered brightness of 750 but it stays constant throughout levelling, so would be neat to have config progression with that. Just an idea since I'm currently loving this mod.
i will say for me, lockpicking works when i press 'e' on a door usually, not sure if it was intentional or not but it works
Finally got around to testing sales, seems like they're working fine. Also added protein powder (increased shovel damage) and walkie GPS (displays position and time when holding)
I think walkie gps is actually going to take the place of 'fog goggles'/whatever upgrade was going to increase visibility in fog. I think instead just using a walkie and coordinates still preserves the hazard and challenge of fog but provides you better means to navigate it if you're strategic about it, whereas fog goggles or whatever completely negates it.

Cause when my friends and I were playing we bought night vision goggles and it didn't give it to everyone. Just my one friend. Cause one of my friends said "Yeah if we buy it. It will give it to all of us"
its a config option, defualt is individual purchase meaning the upgrade is applied to the person who bought it/activated it
if you want it to give it to everyone, set it to false for each item you want to be shares, and make sure everyone has the same config

I think the intern when bought should drop in on an item drop to make it look like the company is sending you a replacement ๐ it would feel more reasonable than someone magically appearing inside the building where they wouldn't have any defense against roaming coil heads, Jack in the boxes, thumpers, braken, and anything else that could active and aggressive. Chances of instant death on respawn are very high inside especially with no items and if apparatus is pulled.

Yeah I think I'll look into this. I thought random pos in facility would be another nice way to balance it. When you enter the intern command it says they've been teleported inside the facility. But maybe it is a bit too harsh

Late at night probably shouldn't call an intern and just focus on leaving. At that point both areas are highly dangerous
Plus outside is easier to just bait dogs away. I tend to run around with a air horn to pull dogs away, and if there's bamboo hawks I'll try to lure them there.

In the terminal. Get them to type that where steam_username is the name of the person who's upgrades they want to sync
I think I fully implemented that, honestly it's untested so idk.
If it doesn't work you can get them to do forcecredits 123 and buy the upgrades you guys have then set your credits back to where they were.

I think it all comes down to the individuals which is why a config is so important. There's groups that get 1500 credits on the first quota and groups that barely break 250.

Instead of buying every upgrade for every player in sequential order it's designed to be spread out and strategized. But yes the config option to make them shared was put in for those who struggle to share things and make group decisions so it should be able to please everyone.
That way people have roles. I found it felt a lot more balanced and fun that way

I found when it was shared we all became individual powerhouses. When it was individual it increased how much we relied on eachother.
hello, just a quick update, i havent had any problems after deleting all configs from every mod i have installed (friends included) so no bugs or any issues anymore. used the same exact values that i had on old configs and no problems arose, couldnt figure out what the actual problem was; even with that Compatibility Mod checker thing
each item is able to be specified in individual or shared as well, so you can make sprint for everyone, and everything else individual, or mix and match etc

And we lowered the prices so instead of buying a shared running shoes for 1k we would buy running shoes for one guy and better scanner for another for 1k

We don't seem to be having success with it and there's an upgrade desync at the moment.
Protein powder also seems to have disappeared for everybody after a game reload (we have shared upgrades enabled.)

Some Suggestions, since you're branching into items and stuff, rather than just semi-intangible personal stat upgrades.
A simple-ish "Scuba mask". makes the person act as if they're taller when in water and have it equipped so they can catch breathes in deeper water without being dead. Can also extend breathe if you want it to.
Jello Sole boots. Boots that deflect fall damage into force making you bounce back up again with diminishing returns, but become somewhat nonfunctional if verily weighed down (after a point you just splat anyway).
DIY Boarding Kit. twohanded item, renders as a mallet and a bunch of wooden planks in hand, lets you "board up" empty door frames or actual doors with wooden boards to block pathing effectively making a locked door where one isn't. Could have a number of charges per level or perhaps "plank kits" you need to use or have on ship to reload it.
Personal Data Terminal. Looks like an ipad like thing. Lets you use commands from the console while on the move. but when sending commands it uses a chunk of battery and makes dail-up noises while it processes said command for a bit. Could also act as the scanner upgrade in item form when held. Can be pointed at objects that can be consoled open to get their id so you can hack them, and if you have it, inherits malware broadcast. No visual radar/player view functionality tho?
Thought: Second tier to malware broadcaster that makes you able to permanently shut things down rather than destroy them and allows salvaging of the turrets and mines after their shutdown? Turret could turn into a twohanded lmg sorta thing that fires somewhat wildly with some insane recoil but could be funny to let rip for a bit. mines could get decommisioned into explosives and some plates. Explosives are volatile and make players go boom if killed while holding them.
(some of these I had thrown in lethal thing's way also)

Peeper seems to cause coil-heads to constantly stutter making an insane amount of noise and only delaying them
Love this mod, and I think it would be really cool if there could be an alternate way of unlocking upgrades, such as by bringing back some โalien-technologyโ themed scrap (or maybe the apparatus?) Or maybe by finding some station within the facility that gives you upgrades (at a cost?)
at some point we have discussed about adding little side things in that vein and adding other things like unique scraps and stuff or other minigames
but thats in the far future as opposed to what we're aiming for now
one day we even want to include finding entrances to other facilities within a facility that youd have to either unlock with locksmith, or maybe use a terminal inside the facility to get a code to unlock it, etc
there are alot of ideas to have, and just a matter of what we want to put in sooner and what fits the scope of this project
I haven't tested this with multiple clients. One thing you can do is pick up the peeper and stop the coil heads by looking at them like normal and then drop it so it takes over and it should be fine.
When the peeper initializes the stop I noticed there was weird behaviour but I thought I fixed it

hi the load steam_name command is not working when inputting that command it states that there is no action supplied to it. any alternatives to have new players load all of our upgrades
Would it be possible to add something that helps get though the selling process faster? Like a quick sell chute that appears on the ship when at the company building, or removing the item limit from the counter, or jeb no longer gets angry
i did find loading the player slot worked for me i believe
i was using load lgu Player for host, Player1 for the second person to join, Player2 for the 3rd, so on and so forth

so each subsequent upgrade doubles, then triples the damage of the shovel

It replaces the file if you include it in the mod zip, which resets it to default or whatever configs is in the confit file.
So basically, if you have all of the config values set to custom values and you update the mod, all of them gets reset.

also, i think it's been mentioned, but protein powder unloaded for my group. Unfortunately, we found this out while dealing with masked
Playing with a larger group of people (like 6-8 usually) and cutting the cost of most of the upgrades by 50% to 33% makes it a lot more reasonable. Some of the really strong ones like Running Shoes I kept at their default value, but most others I dropped in cost by at least 100 credits.
Also I always make Malware Broadcaster and the Discombobulator shared upgrades, since it doesn't make any sense for it to be for only one person.
the sales do help in acquiring the upgrades regardless, having them be per-client is cool
same thing was happening to me yesterday and no matter what, even with just lgu and its dependencies it would error for no reason when a friend with the exact same config (and same profile on r2modman) joined me, tried reinstalling the mod several times, and making sure the config was the same to no avail

What's your mod list? It must be something that does something with mod versions or something. The version of the DLL is 2.6.0 but the version on thunderstore is 2.6.1 so some mod that checks and does things with the plugin version is causing the issue

noticed though that when i did a separate profile with only lgu and it's dependencies the same thing still happened where any player joining with same exact mod and config would error, and not be able to join
this is what I usually use and it works fine with LGU v2.6.0(and before) but not v.2.6.1, tested with these mods and also without any other than LGU itself like stated above with same issue of players that try to join get an error

And you mean it's not loading when you join the lobby right? Also if you load a save file that was created with no shared upgrades. The one person who had the upgrades won't share them to everyone else. All shared does is call netcode that unlocks it for everyone else when it's purchased so it's not reverse compatible with saves.

If a client does load steam_username it copy the upgrades of that person to that client. Dilly was saying load Player was working best though. Not sure if he was testing on lan or not though

Ive been having the same issue as Lemon of the LGU Upgrades resetting every time the save is loaded. The only thing that has been changed since it worked fine was toggling the misc option to make the upgrades sharable.

Hello, I have an issue with this mod. It never register my purchased upgrades, everytime I close and reopen the game, I lose every upgrades.
I'm playing on a save that I've been playing since v40 (I updated to v45 today). Unlike previous version of the mod, inside my save folder, there's like 9 LGU save files (LGU_2, LGU_3, etc). I haven't played the game with my friend, so I believe something is wrong.
I found the problem... I'll post this on github. The newest LC Bettersave failed to register upgrade saves and keeps on generating new ones, causing the reset.

had a friend try it since they were missing an upgrade (after joining late) and doesn't seem to load the missing upgrade for them

Just get them to type load Player
I only have it reset config on updates where the config changed a lot and a reset is necessary.
so here's the log from profile: 018c75ef-fff7-e31a-1683-eb34c14f21df in r2 modman, just lgu and it's own dependencies nothing else
seems to say that there's a configuration mismatch between server and client on v2.6.1, but we both have the exact same config, and I made sure as I had my friend replace his with the one I had after generating one so we have the same config and everything
Do the improvements still apply to all players?
Or should everyone buy improvements for themselves?
depends on config, if its shared only one needs to, if individual is set to true then everyone needs to buy their own
Hey yall! noticed some issues with the upgrades, in particular:
- Upgrades aren't saved upon reloading the save, they need to be repurchased (anything that isn't a tangible object)
- The mod seems to be targeting the wrong version of BepInEX (outdated version? not sure if this will cause problems alone)
- The scanner upgrade causes stutters on client machines and spits this to the console:

- are you running bettersaves? right now that pull request made doesnt seem to be working, but im not running it and my upgrades are applying normally on saves, last case scenario you can run 'load lgu Player' if youre the host, if youre the second player to join itll be 'load lgu Player1' 3rd is 'load lgu Player2', and so on and so forth
- i havent noticed any glaring issues with the currently outdated bepinex, but right now the mod is in a funky state it appears, itll be more stable shortly in general we hope
- i havent noticed any issues with better scanner myself, but ill try and see if i can replicate the instances where it spams that soon

- Much appreciated. We were trying to nail down issues with stuttering on some clients, and I think the scanner issues are causing it. I am running this in conjunction with ~40 other mods, but this is the only one that seems to output to the console when the stuttering starts.

Yes, better saves is unfortunately a problem causer at the moment for us it seems, instead of loading the saves each time it seems to be generating new ones with better saves so it'll be something we gotta fix soon enough, worry not you (unfortunately) aren't the only one dealing with this issue
It's just near the holidays so naturally myself and kieth as well are a little busy at the moment
But I'm sure we'll get something figured soon enough!
Uh, I'm not positive on the interval but I usually check once per quota and I usually get different ones
Sometimes the sales repeat but I've only found that happening if I'm on the terminal after selling scrap and taking off, when it says "quota reached"
I stay off of the terminal until we are in orbit and the sales usually change by then

Pretty sure nobody else is having this issue, but whenever I try to buy Protein powder, the terminal defaults to the Pro flashlight, even when I type the entire thing, is it known what causes this?

I did have it ask for pro flashlights if I only typed in protein but never the whole thing

Hey Dilly, could there potentially be an issue where the scanner isn't picking up line of sight on some items due to the no line of sight upgrade you have?
I ask cause I have the mod "employee assigments" and it's meant to drop an item, usually a gold bar, with the reward for killing the marked enemy when you get the kill assignment. but when I scan after beating the enemy and being told I've done well there doesn't seem to be an item that dropped. and I can't tell if the item is phased inside the mob's corpse and rendered untouchable and the scanners not seeing it, or if I have a bug.
Sometimes the scanner also won't pick up the ship/entrance direction if it's not in direct line of sight either as an aside.

That's a fantastic question! I've been running the employee assignments mod and trying to figure out why on enemy kill gold bars weren't spawning, i'll see shortly if it's lgu when I run only the assignments and lgu to verify if that's the problem source
Everything should be available in the store, make sure you type "lgu" or "lategame store" to see all items
Its not lgu, just reported that bug to employee assignments, its their bug that they are working on when they removed LC API. Its not your mod

That seems strange, are you typing the entire name of the item? Such as 'better scanner' for the better scanner? If the default items show up in the store then the items in their own shop section absolutely should be present

Fashion items? The only items in the main store we have are the portable teleporter, advanced portable teleporter, night vision headset goggles, peeper and interns, but no fashion items
If those don't show up in the normal store make sure you have all of the dependencies correctly installed such as bepinex, hookgen, and lethallib

that's fine, at least I know which mod to remove, and if I remember correctly if someone joins late and missed the upgrade/didnt get the upgrade they just have to type load lgu <player(the one before him/her)> at the terminal correct?
If all upgrades are shared they should be able to yes, as an example if you are the host you'd type "load lgu Player", if you were the second player to join the lobby you'd type "load lgu Player1", for the third person to join "load lgu Player2" and so on and so forth
If it's individual then it will not apply any other upgrades than what was already purchased if the save recognizes it
If you guys want any credits back that you lost from better saves, you can type "forcecredits x" with x being the number of credits, and synccredits to sync everyone's credits to be the same number if a desync happens

I think this is too long to write... The problem is that I see all the items in the "lategame store", but I can't buy them and I don't know why. In the config I also replaced true with false, but I couldnโt buy the item
do you have any terminal mods? I removed all mine when this same issue affected one of the mods I used. Specificially Terminal API

Unfortunately without a way to see all of the mods being run, I can't be sure what the current problem is
I can say with my current 32 or so mod list it runs fine

Are you using a launcher or just putting .dll files in your plugin folder. A launcher would greatly help narrow down the problem by disabling certain mods until it works. Also looking at your console if you have it enabled to show helps see the issue sometimes as well

But in my own saves the mod works fine, If someone has a .cfg that is working for morecompany and shared upgrades could you share it?
Everyone should should be able to buy items, I use all default config with morecompany and have no issues
I am also individual right now, later today I'll see if shared upgrades work for me

@urban heart i tested shared upgrades with more company and all upgrades are working as shared
im running 36 mods at the moment and every upgrade with the exception of the walkie gps was shared properly
is ensure under 'misc' you set all upgrades to be shared and go from there
also note the mod is not a host only mod, everyone needs the mod installed and all dependencies as well as the same configs
will setting all upgrades to shared affect the teleporter items?
It shouldn't.
As it's an item so everyone should be able to use the item when they have it.
teleporter items are singular items you physically grab from the drop ship (tech so is night vision, but thats alot mor recent than the tps) and they are only usable by whoever is holding the item

You can. There is a config option where you can turn that on/off
I'd suggest leaving client side purchases to default to false, as it could make people who don't read changelogs think the mod is broken (like me for a few mins). I think it's a good change having the option to set it to client side only for upgrades, but a lot of people could be confused on why stuff they bought isn't coming through for their friends

I was trying to reload upgrades after rehosting and typing into the in game monitor: 'load lgu xxx' displays 'no player found' then lists the players as: Player (1), Player (2), Player (3), Player. Typing 'load lgu Player (1)' reverts to Player due to the space. This means that other players cant be loaded. Is there a workaround for this?
yes, you do not use a space
it would be load lgu Player for host, Player1 for the second person to join, Player2 for the third, so on and so forth

Yeah so far I think the mod is really great, but it's too unstable and seems to be too buggy with larger lobbies.
it was fairly stable before we implemented some new features and things, its just in a temporary rough patch and its the holidays
soon enough things will return to as stable as it was prior
for all of you better save users, apparently v 1.4.0 works, but latest 1.5.0 does not with us, so if you do want to use better saves, then you gotta downgrade (this is untested by me, and posted on the github issues tab, feel free to check and verify for yourself)

I think I checked with them and someone had a log that was going nuts. So yeah you're good. But the scanner not working through corpses or scanning locations through terrain still stands. Since sometimes it doesn't even properky pick up all the scrap in the ship or something right next to me cause theres an axel or motor in show the way.
