Black Hawk Down by RNG is just an no-no, and one that has come up before in these threads.
This is just going to be frustrating if you're trying to extract (for example, due to RL commitments) and suddenly find yourself being shot out the sky because the RNG decided you should go down.

"It would add a little risk/reward" - you've done a great job demonstrating some risk, but certainly haven't articulated any reward.
So you had plans and the game actively prevented you from doing them. You had a ton of your time wasted. You made zero quest progress. You made zero XP progress. You made zero loot/resource progress.
And all you got to burn through a ton of ammo and can celebrate by "being in an LZ or COP"?
