Both Nvidia and AMD have a function to raise gamma to remove night modes and shadows in games. This specific game it has a incredibly effective result where it basically makes NVGs almost irrelevant. Finding some sort of tech to reduce its effectiveness would not only make the game more competitive but also keep people playing the game its meant to be played.

You'll never be able to elimimate this and you can't have "one setting" for everyone because it's also very hardware dependent. Different monitor types will render the same exact settings differently.

Our gamma is already significantly capped over where it used to be.

I'm honestly not sure what people want since it's impossible to control for everyone.

How can one game reasonably control native NVIDIA or AMD software?

I know its not a easy fix, I completely understand that and I know they cant just ban Nvidia control panel or AMDs version. I totally know this is a hard thing to ask. Even if they did actually ban the most popular apps there's straight up monitors that exist with shadow filters, they cant disable hardware inputs.

I am assuming "one setting" doesn't exist, I know the devs cant just snap their fingers and fix this because they probs would have if it was that simple. I was posting here because its a spot for suggestions and conversation, I hope I did not come off like I expected some immediate easy fix because I don't. I am also not a dev so I don't know what is or isn't possible.

ARC Raiders' devs managed to come up with a solution working with nVidia IIRC.
They basically agreed for nVidia to make the featuer unavailable driver-wide whenever the game is running.
