The wipe frequency was increased to a wekk early on in the games early access life due to people who abused it for endless gear and money farning.

Once you get a hang of the game and understand the ballistics and how much free gear is out there, any gun you get can kill an AI anywhere in the game.

My biggest suggestion to people that are starting off is from the get go, get used to using found gear. Its plentiful and free, and a fully kitted run can start with one headshot on an enemy on the outskirts of somewhere and taking everything they have on them. Collect pistols you find out and about. they dont take up much space and are the gateway to a kit

once you learn to use found gear, youll never be in your situation again, and youll start building up a stash of free stuff easily

Lead has the right of it here - back in 0.1, players were exploiting the starting kits by dropping it, wiping and doing it on repeat, even with a 24hr timer.

It damn near broke the game economy, and I'm positive also skewed all the data collected during that time period about loadouts and weapon performance.

Putting such a lengthy timer on is the only real deterance that could be done.

He is also right in advising not to lean on that starter kit too heavily either - even a busted up SKS or AK can be lethal with a little care and skill, right up to end game. It also can open up diverse loadouts as well rather than just relying on X weapon each time.

something to look for while you are out and about is areas that have AI alone off on the outskirts of places. Most POIs have areas of super low density AI that are ripe for the pickin, even t3 places

If you are really hurting for a "decent" weapon, go check the hidden caches around the t2 and t3 poi's. You can pick up a m4 with an Elcan on it, and it will come with the 32 round dd mag and m855.

Then if you really feel ballsy, go raid major cops in Warfare, and you will come out with more good m4's and possibly even get the pmc crates there too.
