If you add prototype weapons that are not mass produced, such as the Ak 308, then please add the sa81 KRASA! This great PDW is incredibly similar to the bolter from Warhammer 40k ! I love it ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fz1mvpqF_I https://www.historicalfirearms.info/post/189618551074/samopal-81-krása-the-sa-81-krása

The Krása project (which translates as "beauty", but is also a shortening of "short assault rifle" - "KRÁtký SAmopal") is a fascinating piece of Czech small arms development. In 1976, the Czechoslovakian military requested development of a compact persona...

**Samopal 81 Krása **

The Sa 81 Krása (meaning ‘beauty’) was developed in the late 1970s by Jiří Čermák, a Czechoslovakian Army engineer and designer. The Czechoslovakian Army requested that the Brno Research and Development Institute of the General Mechanical Engineering Works develop the weapon for use by troops who didn’t require a full-length rifle, including officers, artillery, logistics and armoured vehicle troops.

The resulting personal defence weapon was based around the standard issue 7.62x39mm rifle round. It was just 31.5cm or 12.4in with its side-folding stock folded. This was 17cm or 7.1in shorter than the Soviet AKS-74u. Unloaded the weapon weighed in at 2.1kg or 4.6lbs, which in turn is 1.4lbs lighter than its Soviet counterpart. The Sa 81 fed from a 20-round magazine (the one pictured with the gun above appears to be proprietary) and had a hinged top cover, a side-folding wire stock and a short, fat flash-hider.

It had a magazine well which protruded from th...

Ak-308 isnt prototype anymore, its a production weapon availiable for purchase

If it is not a prototype and is mass produced, tell me what price it can be purchased at and what military units are using it! So far, at all exhibitions, representatives of Kalashnikov Concern say that it is POSSIBLE to produce and sell it to interested parties.

Its listed as availiable for purchase. I never said it was mass produced in quantity, just that its out of prototype stage

#

The video you were discussing in the other thread is 6 years old. Cannot base current info on it

#

Something doesn't need to be mass adopted to be out of prototype stages

I know that the .308 Win caliber round is a very popular HUNTING cartridge. Which although similar to the 7.62×51mm NATO military round, is much worse. Therefore, it makes no sense for the military to buy a rifle for hunting cartridge. That's why SCAR 7.62×51mm NATO was used in Afghanistan and Iraq, and AK 308 is used only in exhibitions.

.308 is actually a higher pressure cartridge than nato 7.62x51. The opposite of the .223/5.56 interchangability situation. So anything in .308 is able to safely fire 7.62x51 nato.

#

"AK308" is just easier than calling it the "AK 7.62x51 Nato"

#

And anyone who knows the cartridges knows you can fire either

#

The more likely reason that the AK308 wont be mass adopted, is its aimed at countries using NATO cartridges, who likely have NATO country weapons contracts and wont be buying weapons from russia

in the video from the show, they explicitly say they're hoping some African countries will buy it. Apparently dictatorial. And the .308 cartridge because it's a hunting cartridge and NATO countries have sold the technology to Russia to produce it. So it's for dictators who don't have access to military technology. Such dictators used to buy FN FAL(7.62x51 NATO), HK G3(7.62x51 NATO) and so on. By the way, for some reason these weapons are not in the game
