#EAFC26 feels like a failed experiment.

After 25 years with this series, I’ve never felt so disconnected. Online play in FC is a chaotic goal‑fest where random animations, aggressive AI and scripted-feeling swings matter more than football skill. Community blogs note players have gone from hype to sarcasm, joking that their favourite part of FC 26 is closing the game. On Steam the rating is “Mixed,” with recurring complaints of scripted matches, inconsistent mechanics, unbalanced meta playstyles and rewards that don’t justify the grind. Even a Reddit thread asking what people like about FC 26 was topped by responses such as “Nothing” and “The uninstall button”. Recent articles note that EA is now nerfing certain PlayStyles following months of community backlash. That’s a start, but it doesn’t fix the core issue: FC 26 feels manipulative and unrewarding. Without a proper skill gap, fair progression and realistic gameplay, this franchise will keep haemorrhaging players.
