I just want to be honest about how I felt playing EA Sports FC 26 Ultimate Team.
At launch, the game felt incredible. I was genuinely excited because it finally felt like you had listened to us. Passing was quick and sharp, rebounds weren’t constant, AI defending was toned down, and attacking AI actually made intelligent runs.
But more than anything, the goals I was scoring felt real. The build up, the movement, the finishes, it actually resembled real football. I was scoring goals that made me smile, the kind that reminded me why I fell in love with football games in the first place. It honestly made me feel like a kid again. Even when I was conceding a lot, I didn’t mind because it felt fair. It felt like a proper transition away from AI dominated defending to a more skill based, attacking game. I believed the community would adapt over time.
Then about three weeks after launch the patch came and everything changed.
It feels like we’ve gone straight back to the old ways. The gameplay now feels like FC 25 all over again and it’s honestly been so disappointing. What was once fun and rewarding now feels like a chore to play. I’ve actually stopped playing because it just isn’t enjoyable anymore.
The only real problems at launch were kickoff goals and corners. Apart from that the gameplay was in such a good place.
Please, for future titles like FC 27, bring back that launch gameplay with fixes to kickoff goals and corners. We don’t need open world features or anything extra, we just want that feeling back. That fun, authentic football gameplay that made us fall in love with the game again.
