#Fixing LM and RM to be in line with 2 CDM formations

In this game we have formations such as the 4411 and 451 becoming more used in the game.

Formations like 4231 wide would have worked well but the issue is the LM and RM don’t line up where the CDMs are horizontally. (They are not in line where the CDMs are positioned).

So we get a staggered 4 -2 -2 formation (excluding the CAM and ST)

With 4411 the LM and RM are in sync horizontally where the two CMs are positioned.(They are in line where the 2 CMs are).

And that contributes to how the LM and RM can track back easily and we get a lot of players behind the ball.

This problem exists with any 2 cdm formations that include a LM and RM
Such as:
442 (2 cdms)
352
4231 wide

If the lm and rm can match being in line with cdms.

It would make a variety of formations work defensively.

Have you tried to set LM/RM as Winger/balanced (and not as Inside forward)?

I have yes.

But they still don’t track back far enough compared to a 4411.

Even with inside forward with in 4411 they track back far enough compared to a 4231.
