I do believe that EA should only focus on fixing the fundamentals in gameplay.
Like make the fundamentals in real life football become the fundamentals in FIFA.
Only then they can tweak the simulation speed to to see how arcadey if people like etc
Right now the fundamentals are broken.
We have left stick dribbling that is way too OP.
And you cannot genuinely jockey to balance that out.
Like if you were to apply the fundamentals of 1v1 defending of real life football in fifa.
You get some success on trying to include that.
But you won’t always be successful because the dribbling is too OP to be countered.
There should be in my opinion, two separate fundamentals:
- Tactical Fundamentals - like structure of a team formation, the basics like covering width and height, being compact, positional play.
2)Player Fundamentals- this is your dribbling, jockeying, shooting, passing,
Fix both of this and we get a really good game.
Especially fix the tactical fundamentals:
like it should be every formation has its own weaknesses and strengths.
It’s up to the player to modify the tactics/roles to mitigate the weaknesses of the formation they are using against another player who is using a different formation to expose your own formation weaknesses.
When I mean by weaknesses, it’s about how much space is conceded by the formation due to your own tactics and roles.
Same with modifying the formation you are using with roles to use its strengths.
This way we won’t ever have one formation dominate every single game like 4411 or 451 or 4213 etc.
