I want to raise a sincere concern about the direction the game has taken over the past years.
I have been playing the football games developed by EA since 2003, starting with the early FIFA titles and continuing through to EA Sports FC 26. For more than two decades I have considered myself a loyal player and supporter of the series. This is precisely why I feel compelled to speak up now.
Over the last decade, I feel that the gameplay direction has gradually moved away from what originally made the series special. The focus seems to have shifted increasingly toward unormal fast transitions, repetitive cutbacks, and counter-attacking patterns, while slower, possession-based football and structured build-up play feels way less viable than before. As someone who enjoys football, combination play, and intelligent off-ball movement, it has become increasingly difficult to enjoy the experience the way I once did.
One of the most frustrating aspects recently is the lack of consistent attacking AI movement. Players often remain static, which forces us into predictable patterns or manual triggers just to create basic attacking options. At the same time, defensive transitions frequently reward simple counterattacking down the wings, which results in many matches feeling repetitive and lacking tactical variety.
If he gameplay direction continues to move further toward repetitive transition football and away from tactical variety and intelligent AI behavior, I am honestly worried that I will no longer be able to continue supporting the franchise in the future.
I hope the team will continue to listen to long-time players who value creativity, tactical depth, and different ways to play the game. Many of us simply want a football game where multiple styles of play are truly viable again.
