The opposing AI defense is strong too much. The problem isn't that they're good at defending, but rather that they're playing in an unrealistic way even authentic play mode. They intercept passes with moves that would be impossible in real soccer. Even the attackers, in particular, steal the ball just as easily as the defenders.
