What does FIFA mean to us? Many of us have been playing since FIFA 14. Many of us, including myself, fell in love with ultimate team back then. I remember that at the time, the CD version was sold with the slogan "Build your dream team". I and a few good friends put more than 1000 hours into the game. We loved it! We could hardly wait to get home and upgrade our team and play better and better matches. This has now been lost in us.
Yet deep down we all wait for this feeling with every new FIFA. We love FIFA and we need a good FIFA. But we lost this feeling many years ago. Especially the "old FIFA players"

What's wrong with the new FIFA?
There are so many problems with it that I don't even know where to start.
Maybe at the beginning. It's no longer about building your dream team but build a team from meta players if you want to stay competitive. What's wrong with that? The meta cards, which in many cases are caused by playstyles, narrow down the selectable players per position. For every position there are x number of players you must choose otherwise you cannot succeed in the game. No matter how many players there are with good statistics, because they don't have meta playstyles, people don't buy them because they can't achieve anything with them. For example: Base Gullit. In older FIFAs, even his base card was almost an end game card. In the current FIFA, I haven't seen an opponent who had this card in their team. If someone packed Base Gullit card, they couldn't even be happy about it because due to playstyles it's UNUSABLE.

⁃ Nerfing players: I regularly experience that, for example, I buy a striker, play with him and feel like I've found the perfect striker! However, this lasts until a promo card comes out of him or 1-2 months pass. After that, it's as if the player I bought was replaced. He no longer runs fast, until now it was 7-8 goals out of 10 shots. After that, this number almost halved. DON'T NERF PLAYERS. Rather make his new card better!

Results: Many of you said you wanted fast gameplay... WHO? I'm seriously asking, WHO ASKED FOR IT? In the current FIFA, it's not uncommon for the final score to be 7-8 or 7-6. Is this normal according to anyone?

What's the problem with fast gameplay?
⁃ You can't play transparently and calmly in your own style. Because of this, people often become nervous. Because they think you can't play your own style here. Either you pick up the pace of the game or you're hopeless even in Rivals game mode. Let's not even talk about Weekend League, but I'll dedicate a separate topic to it. PLAYSTYLES: In one word: DELETE THEM!
Why? I mentioned above that it narrows down the selectable players for a given position!
Don't nerf them, don't give more players better playstyles but DELETE THEM.

It's ridiculous that just because a given player doesn't have a finesse playstyle, you can't score a beautiful finesse goal with them. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT PROFESSIONAL PLAYERS. If in real life these players couldn't make a curved shot, they wouldn't even make it to the academies!

STATS: Only stats should count. The numbers on the card should speak about whether the given card is better or not! If we're thinking about replacing our striker because, let's say, we don't prefer 85 pace on a player and we see another striker whose pace is, let's say, 87, then he should BE FASTER IN-GAME TOO! Not just if that player is META OR NOT!

META: DELETE THAT WORD META FROM THE GAME! No need for meta formation, meta tactics, meta players. I'm tired of the meta formation changing every week and if you want to be competitive, you have to change your team formation every week, otherwise if you don't, the opponent goes through you as if you didn't have players on the field! LET META DISAPPEAR FROM EVERYTHING!! People should be able to play with the formation, players and tactics they LIKE.

Weekly promo cards:

I remember when in FIFA 14 and FIFA 15 in December I already had a full gold team and I also remember when in February in FIFA 14 I packed Aguero's gold card which I still remember was worth 400k coins. And it was a great card back then too, his simple gold card. Now, due to the many promos, every player has been devalued, which is your, that is EA's fault! Pack Luck:

The fact that people spend 100 or even much more euros on packs for a given promo and we get nothing but fodder and lower category promo cards. People, including myself, when we open a pack from rewards, we already approach it with the attitude "we won't pack anything good anyway"
And generally that's how it is. We really don't pack anything good or very very rarely. I understand that not every second person should pack a promo Maradona card, but the problem is that in many promos, most of the players are at most good for fodder. Because by then the player's team is much better and they can't even put them on the bench. Yet it's a PROMO CARD.

ICON CARDS:

The player who gets an icon card in the game is someone we refer to in real life as a "legend" because of their performance. Or the given club considers them a legend.
I think the "legend" status is only given to outstandingly good players. Who have written themselves into football history in some way.
Then I would have a question.
How is it possible that countless ICON cards are UNUSABLE.
And not just since playstyles came in. Years ago this was also the problem.

How is it that a Toni Kroos, who doesn't need to be introduced, is currently (in February) worth 130k coins?

If someone gets an icon card, then out of RESPECT it should be very very good, even ALL should be end game cards. Otherwise there's no point... a legend who was once among the best in the world at their position, and wrote themselves into football history, has such a card in the game that they're not even good for the bench. I don't call this ridiculous but DISRESPECTFUL!

WEEKEND LEAGUE

The reward system is terrible! There are those who suffer for 10 wins to get better rewards, there are those who only achieve 5 wins in Weekend League and still pack a top category card, while the player who achieved 10 wins packs nothing but fodder cards.

The other big problem is that in Weekend League, matchmaking happens so that it finds opponents based on similar win/loss.
The problem starts there that while, let's say, a Division 3 player suffers to finish all 10 matches out of the given 10 matches with wins, tries to focus 100%, their opponent who, let's say, plays in Division 1 or elite division, got 10 wins with their eyes closed. This needs to be completely changed! Everyone should achieve the best possible results in their OWN "league".

What I also think is a problem. Is that you can start Weekend League from Friday. Which is understandable since that's its name too. However, the problem is that many people work on weekends too, would deal with family or friends, because of this many people fall out of this opportunity. Also, since for the average player in Weekend League, they have to fight for every single match win, therefore people get much more tired.
I would suggest that Weekend League be renamed and the 15 matches could be played from Monday to Sunday evening. This would be better because from Monday to Saturday, the player would only have to fully focus on 2 matches a day and on Sunday on the remaining 3 matches. This way it will be less annoying.

RUSH

I think it's a very good idea, only the community problems come out here most:
I regularly encounter someone who is not a team player, doesn't want to pass. The other part of this is that someone joins and as soon as they scored the goal for the Evo, they immediately start afk-ing (unplugs the controller analog), by which if a player for whom winning would be important for a given evo or the rewards, it's very frustrating for them.

REVENUE FOR EA

I know that the main task of every game-making company is to profit. This is okay and understandable. However, don't forget that they're also putting a game on the market for which people GIVE MONEY! Especially with such a valuable game, people expect a lot. It's not by chance that EA's stock fell last year. For a company dealing with games to profit, a good game is also necessary. People will spend much more money on a good game. EA's goal should be to try to bring back the already lost players. This is truly not easy because terribly many people quit the game because of the worse and worse FIFAs and this number is only increasing. You can't argue with numbers! Let's see how many active players there were in, let's say, FIFA 15 and now in FC 26. Numbers don't lie. If a company keeps profit too much in view, it will result in less attention being paid to the game, because of this it won't succeed well and the given company/game loses players.

TRUST

I think that many players have lost trust towards FIFA and thus towards EA too! It would be time to prove that you really care about the players' opinions and prove that you want to create a good game again. Those FIFA players who quit also want deep down a good FC game. But unfortunately, they haven't received this for years. This is a problem. Because as time passes, more and more players will face the problems and permanently quit the game

Why will the game die on November 19, 2026?
Well, this will happen if the new FC 27 will contain the same mechanics as the current ones. We all know that on November 19, which game's next part will, according to reports, appear after 13 years.
That game doesn't need to be introduced to what it's capable of. Its last part also broke records both in terms of active players and sales. In the case that FC 27 doesn't succeed like a masterpiece, all those players who are starting to get fed up with the game and only play it because there is NOTHING else will put down FC 27 on November 19 and won't even be interested in Toty.

SUGGESTIONS/FIXES/ THE NEW FC27 (WITH JUSTIFICATION)

Promo cards/ revenue

I suggest there should be a maximum of 5-6 BIG promos in the one-year period, such as Toty for example!

If people perceive that they can get promo cards much less frequently because they can be opened less frequently, because they could be opened less frequently, this will also result in them being valuable and expensive. Therefore, they will grind for rewards and will buy fc points at every promo because they want to play with promo cards.

But this will only work in the long term if the promo cards will really be good even if they are at the bottom of the category (Although my suggestion would be that there should be no lower category for a promo card). Also, increase the pack luck.
Why? The answer is simple:
If the player tops up, let's say, $50-100 worth of fc points at the first promo and packs promo cards, then it will result in them buying points at the next promo too and wanting to open packs. However, if at the first promo (as it is in almost most FIFAs), no matter how much money someone tops up, $100 worth of Fc points and doesn't get anything, then that given player's trust completely disappears and they won't spend more money on the game. People need the sense of achievement

PLAYSTYLES/ROLES: COMPLETELY DELETE PLAYSTYLE and role could also be deleted, we've been perfectly fine without them so far.

STATS/ NERFING: The given player's knowledge in-game is determined by stats, that is, the numbers. Don't let it be that I buy a player who, based on stats, runs 2 faster and still feels slower. Also, if we buy a player, they shouldn't become unusable after 1-2 months! DON'T NERF

META: LET META DISAPPEAR FROM THE GAME. Everyone should play and be able to succeed with the formation, players, tactics they enjoy! Don't let Claudia Pina be the ST or LW in every team just because she's one of the most meta cards in the game!

We don't want fast gameplay that results in water polo results happening in every match! We don't want 8:7, 6:5 final results. We don't want to see 10-15 goals in a match. Anyway, all of them are the same because of META.... We would like more realistic results

GAMEPLAY: Instead of fast gameplay, we would like much slower gameplay where people really have to think about where to break the defense in a given case, where to attack and be able to play their own thought-out tactics, not the all over the place dribbling turning glitches.

AI: We would be happy if the AI contained mechanics for professional football. For example: Keep the defense, close together if needed, man-mark. Look for gaps where they can run into, better movement, ask for the ball, better positioning and in defense don't run around in the attacking third.

HEADERS: In almost all new FCs there are no header goals from corners or attacks. Heading would be a very important element of the game especially because of those strikers who are not too fast but at least head safely in the air! Currently there are no headers in the game. Ridiculous

ICONS: All icons should be very good top cards! It's not by chance that these players are icons/legends.

WEEKEND LEAGUE: Better rewards, people should be able to achieve the best possible results on their own level. Also, be able to play the 15 matches from Monday to Sunday evening.

MARKET: Players should keep their value!

A game should be about sitting down in your free time, playing and disconnecting, enjoying the game. In contrast, this game has become a rage game.

COMPLETELY NEW CONTENT IN FC 27

OWN CHARACTER IN Ultimate Team:
For example, those who pre-order could create their own player! Maximum for one freely selectable position that cannot be changed later! The process could look like when we create a player in player career mode. But here later the position, whether right or left-footed, etc. couldn't be changed.

Our own player could develop with EVO but here there would not be free EVO opportunities but there would be paid and free

For example: There would be an EVO option that is paid (for fc points) and it would give +5 pace to the player

NEW GAME MODE:
Bring back FIFA street but connected with ultimate team:

3v3 + goalkeeper

You could select all the players from your club with whom you would like to play this mode!

Don't let it be like rush where everyone controls one player! Here everyone would get full control.

Here the skills should really count. Don't have rules. Let everyone enjoy that whatever they do, they won't get a red or yellow card for it!

Let there be a reward system here too, even a similar championship like weekend league

Take us out to the street and let us do what we want!

Final thoughts:

First and most important thing! I'm nobody! I'm not a big-name streamer or professional player. I'm a guy who started with FIFA 14 and FIFA was his favorite game. I still play FIFA but the more than 1000 hours per FIFA has now decreased to MAXIMUM 100-300 hours.
I don't want to be a know-it-all, but to share my 12 years of experience and hoping that I can help so that the next FC 27 really brings back those feelings that I felt at the beginning. We love FIFA and we NEED a good FIFA. In my opinion, a good game is not created by executives, developers, marketers but by the community. We are your community. If you want a good game, then really listen to us. Because we are the ones who play with the game every day and WE know what we like and what we don't.

You should consider that we had in the business Fifa (more arcade) and Pes (slow-thinking). Fifa won by miles, because it's way more fun a fast play. The problem with results is not fixable because it depends on the abilities between the two gamers. The real problem here is the distortion of the football logic that lead to an unbalance between attack and defense. There are plays that are not stoppable, because there is no football logic in a game that should be a football game. For example there's no respect of positional advantage: you see that when people spam through-balls behind a well positioned fullback or when they go to the line for back-passes. The problem is also people thinking that this thing is punishing bad gamers that let cpu play by themselves when in reality they are rewarding bad gamers that attack with no-sense plays.

Fast gameplay is what causes the 7–6 scorelines. What is entertaining about a game where you can’t play with clear vision and well-thought-out tactics? Older FIFAs also had high-scoring matches, but those were not the norm.

What’s good about being able to shoot at goal after just two passes? Of course, I respect your opinion as well. You prefer fast gameplay, while I prefer a slower one.

You said it all. Older fifas were fast, but if you know how to defend there was no problem because there was a balance. The balance between attacking (passing, dribbling, shooting) and defending (interceptions, tackling, blocks and savings) was in the game. There were no broken passes, there were no broken shooting, the scoreline is simply the consequence of the lack in balance between the two things. How you fix the scoreline? You fix the balance. So simply they need to bring back football logic.

The unrealistic scoreline is only a consequence of unbalance in gameplay. You should understand that the problem is the balance between attacking and defensive actions. The speed of the game doesnt influence the scoreline, because the scoreline is the end result of the actions you decided to perform on the field.

The problem as you said is that it is easy to be inside the opponent's box after three passes. If you slow down everything it's still easy to be in the opponent's box. And if we had to say everything, making the gameplay slow reduce skillgap because fast-thinking is a skill. It's the same in chess, irl and in everything. Giving you a 3 days to complete a first grade that could require 5mins is reducing skillgap to none, but at this state of the game i honestly don't care. The overall balance and the represantion of football comes first, personal preferences are second.

actually, reducing speed of overall game mechanism dosen't affects skillgap. because players who have faster thinking would see and infer more things than players who have not after having more time. the only change after reducing speed is the style of attking and defending. and it can make more diverse style of att and def.

note that lowering game speed doesn't mean that like 3 days giving. you have given a wrong analogy.

Let me give an example of a passing situation, which I summarize as follows:
There's the player making the pass, the player receiving the pass, and the defender who wants to intercept the pass. These three players have physical and technical-tactical attributes that should determine the outcome of the pass (positive if successful, intercepted if unsuccessful). The problem with passing in FIFA is that the outcome of the pass is too heavily influenced a priori by player attributes, meaning that the game and the system are designed so that attackers and midfielders are not in a position to intercept defenders' passes, providing visual and tangible 'proof' to the user of their low interception and defensive reading attributes. Therefore, even if the user puts them in the right position to intercept, the outcome of the pass is often still positive because the game forces the player to perform animations in which they don't control the ball, are nutmegged, etc. All of this clearly distorts the outcome of the pass (which seems to be decided a priori), the outcome of the pressing and build-up play, and the overall outcome of the play and the match, which ends up being UNBALANCED in favor of the attacker. But this entire aspect of the technical execution of the pass clearly also impacts the tactics of the match, because by making defending high (pressing) ineffective, you force players to defend low where CPU-controlled players with significantly higher defensive attributes come into play. Generalizations cannot be made based on a single case. This is because the difference between the interception and passing attributes is not a criterion for determining which one is successful, but rather a criterion for determining which one is more likely to succeed. Furthermore, the difference could be due to server issues, one-off glitches, poor defensive maneuvering by individuals, or confirmation bias.

Therefore, you need at least dozens of cases. You need evidence that demonstrates the success rate by capturing not only failed interceptions but also successful ones.

To make a good and enjoyable game, I wrote down a concrete plan with proper reasoning. I don’t know who the person is that gets paid thousands of dollars a month to come up with ideas, but my message to you is: fire them, because I did this for free.

If you implement even half of what I described, the game would already be much more enjoyable and wouldn’t receive this much criticism. I invested my time and energy to thoughtfully try to explain what the real problems with the game are. I hope my message reaches the right people.

They cannot balance between arcade and realistic physics. The ball go around too fast for the animations on and off ball to register, no wonder why you cannot do what you want to do
