I really like the idea behind GK Evolutions in FC26. Being able to upgrade a goalkeeper over time is cool, especially for fans of smaller clubs who want to use a local or lower-rated keeper and actually make him usable.
Right now though, GK Evolutions feel pretty limited because Reactions can’t be upgraded. Even though it’s technically an outfield stat, it clearly affects goalkeepers ingame, reaction time on shots, rebounds, and close-range finishes.
Because of that, a lot of evo goalkeepers just end up feeling bad ingame, even with high Diving or Reflexes. There’s basically a hard cap where evo GKs are always behind regular/meta keepers, no matter how much you invest.
This also hurts the whole “play your way” idea. As a fan of a smaller club, I can’t realistically evo my local bronze keeper into something competitive, simply because Reactions will always stay low.
Maybe one solution could be to tie Reactions into the Reflexes category for goalkeepers, similar to how Acceleration and Sprint Speed are grouped under the Speed category for outfield players. That way GK Evolutions wouldn’t feel permanently handicapped.
Not sure if this is intended, but it feels a bit at odds with what Evolutions are supposed to be about. Just wanted to flag it, appreciate the increased focus on player feedback in FC26.
