The AI nerf is barely noticeable. I play in the elite division and 75% of players if not more don’t ever defend manually, they select a midfielder and run back and just let the AI defend for them. I understand that the AI shouldn’t be useless but my opponents never select a defender and only defend with midfielders. AI shouldn’t be tackling, muscling attackers, and completely reliable to the point there’s almost no penalty for full AI defending.
Recommendation:
BUFF manual defending, if more people got rewarded for tackling and positioning correctly for interceptions and dribble defenses, while AI was nerfed, it would promote a more user based and skill based interaction rather than this frustrating gameplay. Manual defending buff and AI defending nerf would fix most of the issues.
Also, BUFF interceptions manually. So many times I stand in the right spot with a defender who has good interceptions stat with the interception playstyle and the ball goes right through my defender even when I correctly predict the pass. A manual defending buff would also fix this
Many people who complain about the flaws of this game, a manual defending buff would fix everything:
- If your manual defender could jockey better, that would counter the “fidget spinners”.
- If your manual defender could consistently intercept passes after a correct prediction, that would counter the “overpowered passing”
- If your manual defender could better block shots when in position, that would counter “finesse and low driven” meta
ALL the issues of certain aspects being “too strong and overpowered” are simply the game not having the manual defending ability needed to promote a more user based, skill based, and more rewarding gameplay experience. Allowing the AI to FULLY defend for players is the least user based gameplay I feel and needs a nerf DESPERATELY.
