Crazy Input Delay on PC

Game is unplayable the menu and everything is fine but as soon as i go into an multiplayer mode like rivals it takes around 10-5 seconds to respond and its so annoying. Ive paid 60 quid for this game and im getting this nonsense. Fix ur game. Its not my drivers specs or vsync or whatnot because ive tried everything and my stuff is above the reccomended. Please fix it

SOLVED EA FC 26 PC Input Delay

I spent days dealing with severe input delay specifically in Rivals on FC 26, while every other mode (Rush, Squad Battles, offline) felt perfectly responsive. After testing different networks, controllers, frame caps, and graphics settings, I eventually traced the issue to frametime instability, not ping or GPU load. Rivals has a stricter server-sync pipeline, and my CPU was missing timing windows at high FPS, which forced the game to buffer inputs even though my FPS looked stable on paper.

What finally solved the problem was stabilizing the CPU side of the equation:

• Switching Windows to High Performance mode (powercfg.cpl)
• Disabling CPU parking and locking frequency behavior with ParkControl

Once I removed the downclocking and core-parking fluctuations, my frametimes flattened out and the input delay disappeared completely. If Rivals feels delayed while the rest of the game is fine, this CPU timing issue is likely the culprit.

It's fully sound on paper if it still doesn't work for you, you simply have a crap pc/one that isn't exactly compatible with with FIFA's absurd requirements

that could work for a few, most of the people won't see any benefit by doing that

probably it will help with people that have some stuttering in game, but not those who have a permanent input delay

tbh I think that there is no "magic" solution or a super config that you can apply to fix this issue

i was playing with a friend on console the other day, the delay isnt just input, the game was at 33:30 for me and 34:20 something for him , even he knew he scored way before i saw it on my screen it is so absurd how bad this game is on pc

last year we got an issue when the game start freezing without any reason. the fix was to use an old version of the ea anticheat. this issue was present half of the game cycle and they fixed eventually. right now there is no "trick" that you can do to 100% avoid the issue

you can do a lot of things that could eventually work in some cases, but tbh if EA is unable to fixed it then I don't think that we can do much

I have no real source but i'm confident that the problem is, once again, the anticheat. fc 25 and fc 26 have the exact same requirements but one (25) works flawless and the other one is impossible to play in my case, that's why I think that the AC is the problem just like last year, but idk for sure so is just all assumptions

Yeah the game is poorly optimised but this Reddit post solves the specific issue, if your CPU is good enough (I'm not sure in what metric the CPU has to be 'good enough')
If people are having the same issue as me then people can rejoice with me

⚠️I finally found a fix for me, i hope this helps others⚠️ : if you have already done the steps of lowering quality in game, lowering fps inside and outside of the game, controlling cpu, all of that and you still have the issue,
--> try pausing or removing antiviruses. That was the fix for me; Ive had bitdefender for years now and I never really needed it so I fully uninstalled it and the sudden input freezing that happened for like 10 seconds straight at a time was pretty much gone. I still sometimes feel a 2-3 second pause but it is much better. The rest EA just has to fix on their end, its stupid. (I think it's something with the anticheat or EA app) Hope this helps although it is a small change.

im talking about input freezing not fps drops, its when the player doesnt stop moving in one direction for 10 seconds
