I honestly don’t understand why they nerfed goalkeeper movement so hard, just because they listened to the most unskilled players. So now skill doesn’t matter? If I can read where a shot is going and position my keeper correctly, why am I being punished for that? Just because some players struggle to trick their opponents, when football is literally about deception?

And even worse: it’s not like goalkeepers were working properly in the first place. This patch is terrible. I’m seriously considering quitting the game if they don’t revert it or at least give keepers some mobility back. It makes no sense that instead of rewarding skill, they punish it and leave us completely exposed with poorly positioned goalkeepers.

FC26 started really well, and now it’s a mess. It’s frustrating to concede such obvious goals—shots that are incredibly easy to read. Now everything goes in. Goalkeepers only react to basic shots; they don’t respond to long shots or crosses at all. It’s just disappointing.

I’m not playing this week. As much as I love football games, I’d rather stay away than end up stressed and ruining my mood

I’m not “crying” about defending. I’m pointing out that right now there’s simply no way to defend a one-on-one. It’s one thing for the goalkeeper to not move as fast, and a completely different thing for them to not move at all. CPU defending is a separate issue.

I play with 85 defensive height, I don’t sit back, and that naturally leads to several one-on-ones with the keeper. Before, based on the attacker’s body orientation, I could position my goalkeeper properly and actually defend the play. But now the keeper is USELESS in one-on-ones. There’s literally no way to stop them.

If this point is hard for you to understand, at least try reading the whole idea before replying. It helps avoid misunderstandings and unnecessary responses.

I mean, GK movement wasn't a thing in earlier FIFAs and nobody complained, it takes no skill to guess an angle honestly
That's what you guys were doing and I did that too

The problem with this mechanic is that one could move the gk during the shooting animation, lots of times, when you are swarmed by AI bots trying to take the ball from you, it's really hard to be reasonable with shooting, even if you see the gk moving

Either the other post is obstructed by a player moved by the AI so your shot gets blocked, or if you take even a second more to think about where to shoot, you lose the ball
GK movement gave an unfair advantage regarding that

But the problem wasn't GK movement per se

It was and it is still AI defending being over powered

Trust you would be fine with GK movement if AI defending wasn't insane,you would have much clearer scoring opportunities
Even getting past the gk with a ball roll, skill, or whatever

But now if one is slightly good and drops back you never have the space to do that

It was a free card to bail you or the opponent out if you defended poorly

Except it wasn't always the case
Again, with this much CPU, rebounds are out of control, moving the gk when they happened, helped not conceding idiotic goals, now we can't even do that

But again, it's not GK movement
It's the CPU being too present

It's random, sometimes you can see, others you can't because AI bots block the other angle, so one can easily see that and move the gk consequently

This neither is a solution, the one we got now I mean, EA can't balance things, not news, by nerfing it this much, now every driven shot is a goal, there's a new corner kick glitch and they will probsnl find more exploits in the near future

All they had to do is to nerf this damn CPU swarming from everywhere but nah they are still "monitoring"
