The new status update that shows the players willingness to negotiate a new contract has two big problems in my opinion. First, players potential isn't showing anymore which is crucial when you are building a strong team. Second, it doesn't really do anything. Earlier you just got a notification that a player wanted to negotiate, this was enough.
Please remove and bring back players potential.
And if you want to make some improvements it should definitely be that you can approach player with a new contract. It doesn't have to be like in earlier games but you should be able to maybe trigger a player to want to sign a new contract and not just sit and wait until they decide they want a new contract. It's not especially realistic that the club can't approach the player. It needs to be balance between club and players desire to extend.
