#EA, Responsiveness Is the Real Problem

EA, I’ve got to be straight with you. I’m honestly wondering how this game can feel this different every single time I load it up. I’m not trying to pile on negativity for the sake of it, but the responsiveness and overall gameplay consistency right now are brutal.

I can have days where everything feels sharp, players react, animations load, and the game is actually fun. Then the next session, it’s like everyone on the pitch suddenly drops to bronze-level responsiveness even though nothing about my connection, setup, or team changed. It genuinely feels like I’m playing a different title depending on the hour.

What makes it worse is that this isn’t a “bad ping” or “laggy server” situation. You can be on ten ping and still feel like you’re stuck in syrup because the gameplay itself is coded to be inconsistent. That’s the part that drives people crazy. Every other multiplayer game I touch has a baseline reliability. Battlefield. COD. Fortnite. Even eFootball/UFL. They all feel the same from day to day. FIFA is the only game where good ping does not guarantee good gameplay.

And when responsiveness tanks, everything becomes a coin flip. You can go from dominating to losing matches you shouldn’t because you literally cannot control your players. I shouldn’t be loading into a mode like Draft and watching multi-million coin cards feel like 60-rated items who forgot how to move.

It’s exhausting. Especially when people spend a hundred bucks every year on this game and build their weekends or days off around it. Nobody should sit down to play and immediately wonder whether the game is going to “work today” in the most basic sense.

You guys talk about reducing latency, optimizing console networking, improving hypermotion, cutting ping, whatever. But if the internal gameplay build itself is unstable, none of that matters. It’s time to look in the mirror on the underlying engine and netcode. This game shouldn’t feel random.

The goalkeeper movement change is fine. Honestly, I welcome it. But big picture, patches like this don’t matter until responsiveness is sorted out. The gameplay should be predictable, consistent, and stable. Not three different experiences in a single day.

I’m saying this as someone who genuinely loves football, enjoys this game when it works, and wants it to succeed. People deserve better. Just fix the core responsiveness first. Everything else comes after.
