If you want low-scoring games, then maybe stick to offline modes. Ultimate Team is meant to be a competitive esports-focused mode. High-scoring matches aren’t a problem — they simply reflect skill, creativity, and attacking quality.

Reducing the defensive AI even further isn’t the solution. The issue is that right now the AI defends too much for the player, which lowers the skill gap and makes every match feel the same.

More manual defending = more skill. More skill = more fair results.
If someone wants slow, defensive, low-score matches, there are plenty of offline modes for that. But online modes, especially FUT, should reward actual player ability, not AI automation.

Imagine you play call of duty and the developer said: put an extra 1000€ of in-game currency, and you unlock weapons that have auto-aim. There has to be some level of AI defending. We can only control one player and there’s 9 other outfield players.

The issue is how strong and overpowered it has become where you see the current 451 meta ruining any fun aspect this game has to offer

AI should not be making tackles for you it should only be tracking but also should be easily beaten if you as a player don’t switch to that defender fast enough and read the movement of your opponent and make a winning tackle
